1. Hi folks….enjoy all your comments! In this day and age, there’s no talk of “safe sex.” Why not? Lots of teens watch.

2. Safe sex? How about actually having someone teaching and practing “absience” (spel?). I know that everything goes is rampart but in small town America I do know some that are teaching and I believe practicing “holding out for marrige”. Old fashion!!!! Yes, but soooooooo much safer. And people that Iknow that practiced it seem to be stronger people emotionaly as well as moraly.

I really liked the way Sami was dressed in today’s episode,I think she looked beautiful.Gail, I agree, I think having the kids interact a bit more is a good idea,the ways soaps age the kids so quickly the writers need to build a connection between them all NOW…lol Abbie,I also like the idea of having just a friendship between a male and female on the show where there has never been or will be any kind of romantic connection,I also would like to see Rafe in another sl,here’s to hoping that it happens. I wonder if Chloe’s pregnancy news is going to be what finally forces her hand in coming clean to Daniel?Mel’s face should be priceless!lol

4. Elizabeth and Patsy– what a great idea!! There is never any talk of safe sex or abstinence on anyone’s part. I know it’s supposed to be a drama and all, but with many teens and young people watching, there should be. The idea of a woman trying to get a guy by tricking him by getting pregnant is ridiculous anymore. It doesn’t show much respect for women.

   I am still out on the EJ/Ari thing. I think they may start out as friends, but who knows what may happen when EJ is found out as the kidnapper. Since EJ helped her, Ari may be the only one to stand by him in all this. JMO, tho.

5. I wish Rafe could be given another connection in Salem besides his sisters and Sami. Even if he ends up with Sami, I think Carly would be a great FRIENDSHIP opportunity for him! Like you guys were saying before…they have no previous romantic history, nor should they in the future– but she could need someone else besides Daniel and Bo to be her trusted confidant. Especially since they have the connection of her rescuing him. There really hasn’t been much mention of the two since that storyline was resolved. IMO, they could be great FRIENDS, w/no “benefits.” He could be on Viv’s trail to get her put away, etc.

   Gail, I also agree with Ari potentially being there for EJ when the Sydnapping finally comes to a close. I didn’t like the idea of those 2 together as friends or more, but their interactions recently with this lawyer thing really showed some hope…and even some chemistry on screen.

   Also, if someone so close to Rafe is with EJ, I’m sure it will cause LOTS of drama when Rafe gets back- drama for everyone! Lol.

   I loved the blue dress, earrings, and grey cardigan Chloe has been wearing the past few days… Such beautiful colors together. And, it really brought out her eyes!

   And, a random question: Do families in Salem ever have a pet? A family dog, kids with turtles or goldfish lol? ….besides Pookie that is. The was just ridiculous…

7. Lindsay- I agree. Pookie was the only one I can think of. No one ever watches TV, goes to the bathroom, seldom cooks. I know it’s a soap, but maybe sometime someone could cook a meal like they used to or bake cookies — something. I remember even Sami used to cook when she and Lucas were together.

   I agree Chloe’s dress is beautiful on her. The color is gorgeous. I do wish, tho, they would put something else on Nicole. That off the shoulder top doesn’t do much for her. Did like her interaction with EJ, tho. THose two do play off each other well. It’s going to interesting to see how this all turns out with their little pact.

9. I noticed that Adrienne is mentioned in the spoilers again and she says she is staying in Salem now b/c she couldn’t sell the Cheatin Heart. I wonder if this means that she is going to be a permanent member of the cast now and if Justin will be, also.

11. From the spoilers I gather that Sami/EJ are soon to share another intimate moment,I am hoping that this time there will also be some discussion on what the two are feeling for each other as well. Don’t get me wrong,I love seeing Sami and EJ grow closer(if there is an eventual payoff)I would just like to know a bit more about what is going on in Sami’s heart,I can guess..lol but I would like to have it confirmed by Sami herself before I invest any more happiness in the idea of the two being together again. I know soaps are notorious for switching gears as they see fit with certain characters so I am hoping that EJ’s interaction with Nicole/Ari is not an indication of the direction where EJ’s love life may end up heading.I do not think either character fits well as a love interest for EJ,if EJ is not to be with Sami in the near future then I think that someone completely new should be brought in an paired with EJ.I think that the current triangles on the show are getting a bit boring, so maybe some fresh faces in the cast would help to bring some different sls to Salem,I am just dying for the writers to write an actual love story for any one of the characters that does not have a third wheel already attached(it can always come in later if really necessary) I would love it for EJ’s character. On another note, How cute was it that Caroline was upset by Victor’s marriage to Viv?! lol Now that is also another love story line that I would like to watch,I think it is more than overdue for Victor to finally get his girl.

13. To the post awhile back. Yes the character of Shane used to be Mr. Sheffield on “The Nanny”.
    To the post about Stefano being attractive…has anyone else noticed how likeable his demeanor is too, I used to dislike him greatly and cringed at the thought he was coming back to DOOL but I have to say his character lately is reminiscent of his massimo character on bold and the beautiful.
    Very excited to see the veteran characters come back!
    I would still find it fascinating to see carly and rafe make a connection, she did save his life.

14. You guys have the right idea about promoting “safe sex”. You are right about a lot of teens watching, but I’ll bet there are many “young-uns” watching also. I remember before I was in school(probably around 5 years old), my mom was a General Hospital fan. Therefore, I watched it also. The biggest thing I remember was the SL about a old Italian man who had a daughter names “Angie”. Angie got pregnant without being married. Not only was he devastated, but my Mother preached and preached to me for months. That was a good learning experience!!!!

    I believe Chloe looks good in anything she wears. She has the most beautiful face/eyes!!! Of course, Dan’s not so bad himself!!!!

    I’m really liking Dick and the “Night” Hope together. I don’t even miss her not being with Bo anymore.

15. OMG, Marilyn! I remember the Angie scenes with her father. That was when I first started watching GH!! I had almost forgotten about that.

    JMO, the June preview was kind of blah, except for the Alice funeral and the vets returning. To me it’s the same old, same old with Sami. They need to have her be with one of the men in her life and move on. The idea of this dragging out all summer with her wanting Rafe, no EJ, no Rafe, no EJ is as boring as a bad tennis match. We will all need some Dramamine to keep up with this roller coaster ride!!

    Oh Nicole and EJ! What a tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive!! This should get good.

16. I agree with a lot of you. I love the Hope s/l and I’m very interested in where it is going. I don’t really miss her with Bo either. I think it’s sweet that Dr. Baker is falling for her.
    Chloe is gorgeous. I’m really liking Stefano too. Digging everything with the exception of Rafe. I really wish they would give him interaction with more people. I like the idea of he and Carly. I would love to see Roman get more airtime too.

17. I like Rafe with Sammi–but if she ends up with EJ I won’t be too heartbroken. I think because I, too, am getting sick of them dragging it out. How about Rafe with Jennifer? Or EJ with Jennifer? oooh la la… I am sort of getting over Bo and Hope too. I don’t love Bo anymore since he screwed Hope over. I do not like Rafe with Carly!!!!!!!!

    Brady/Ari-(sure fire togetherness, love these two)
    EJ/Chloe-(what a twist-both sexy-would she cheat on him)
    Doc/Nicole-(two of a kind, always up to something)
    Bo/Hope-(back on track & w/their own child)
    Nath/Mel-(her marriage annulled)
    Phil/Jen-(start over)
    Roman-(should be w/someone)
    Dan/Carly-(both docs w/their own child)
    Carolina/Maggie-(friends? for Vic)
    Will,Gabby,Chad (good) plus one more…ummmm
    Even tho, this may sound boring to some, with a good story line mixed w/what is going on now, the above character plus the ones not mentioned, could really bring out the best of everything w/DOOLS. (Just having some fun!)
    I read that Shane will have ten episodes and maybe, would like to come full time, what do yall think? I really liked him when he was on Days years ago. (Just throwing something out there.)

21. I think it might backfire on Rafe that he had the Anna hot lead and did not tell Sami. Then Sami will probably be apart from both EJ as well as Rafe lol Arianna and EJ sure are FRESH. And I think Rafe would be better suited to someone like a woman in law enforcement (his age, not Hope). He is too controlling to be with a civilian

22. Carmen,Ali(Sami’s daughter with Lucas) is supposed to be in China with Lucas right now. Lucas asked Sami to send her there to him for a visit.The show only mentioned this very briefly and then I am guessing that Ali was “away” as there has been no more mention of Ali or any more scenes involving both twins. I think the little girl who plays Ali is absolutely adorable and I am hoping that there will be some scenes with her when Lucas is back for Alice’s funeral,I mean even Lucas wouldn’t forget to bring his daughter home with him from China right?lol I wonder who is going to be the one to fall off the wagon,Lucas or Maggie?

23. Anna, I agree with you as well. EJ/Ari bring freshness to the screen b/c the 2 haven’t really interacted (in a decent SL)…and it finally starts to branch Ari in a new direction. As for Rafe, I think it would help if he had Carly in his life as a FRIEND. She is a strong woman, and could match his personality in a good way. He desperately needs more outreach than Sami, his sisters, and Roman. Carly’s friendship would help diversify his SL…and help give him more opinions (haha) than his sisters and Sami toward what’s going on in his life.

    Caroline is so sweet…and WOW, she baked cookies!! Someone on Days cooked!!!! …in the past few months lol

24. How is Rafe controlling? please…he’s FBI-anyone remember scenes with Shane, Bo, Roman–they have to be tough and powerful. When you are people thing you’re controlling.Everyone just picks on poor Rafe because they like Sami and EJ…they are not as exciting as Rafe and Sami…get out of the past…

25. IMO Rafe would not bw good with anyone. Still hoping for EJ and Sami to be permenant and LOVE seeing Maggie get air play. I do wonder if Maggie is suppose to be a lot older then Roman. I think the two of them could be really cool. I am enjoying seeing her and Victor sparring but would love to see Victor get with Caroline. Want Hope with Justin after she gets over this mental illness of missing Bo and I DO NOT WANT BO WITH CARLY. Like my opinion with Rafe I don’t want to see Carly with anyone.

27. Anyone see any potential LUMI reconnection scenes during Lucas’ return? I think Sami should run to him for more comfort and grounding, considering its been such an emotional roller-coaster with EJ and Rafe lately…
    Maggie’s too old for Roman! She played well w/Victor, IMO, but there are too many older women, not enough men lol. Is Shane older or is he more Roman’s age?

Wow- I love that their are all of these Day’s fans united- I have been watching this soap for as long as I can remember and was even an English major in college just for the HOPE of being able to write for the show, and help it stay on the right track- anyways to throw my two cents in… I think that Sami and EJ need to be togetha as EJ would say it. As far as Rafe goes.. Nicole would be a hillarious one- keep her away from Brady! Maybe they should take it back old school and have Gabi fall in love with Brady, while he and Ari stay together.. Remember Sami Austing quad scenerio? Ahhh the good old days (no pun intended).

    I think that Nathan and Mel should be together, and I dont like Stephanie anymore- IDKY I think if anything she should be with Max, or… maybe just take a break from relationships as a whole, cause they make her unlikeable.

    I think what they are doing with Hope is AWESOME it reminds me of when Marlena was possessed by the devil- awesome! Another Alter ego, but then again Hope has always had issues with personalities, remember Gina?

    Bo and Hope need to get back together, they are the only powerhouse couple left on that show, why should we deny ourselves as fans the opportunity to watch them be together?

    Victor is always hilarious, never a dull moment with him Same with Viv- thats why they are great together.

    Chloe and Daniel.. I have been over since before they began. I don’t like this person that the innocent opera singer turned maneater, that Chloe is today. If anything I liked her and Phillip together, just keep her away from Lucas and Daniel.

    Daniel- … I didn’t really like the whole relationship he had with Chelsea, but that is just me. Who knows maybe he and Steph could hook up with each other? I know that he and Carly are a BAD idea- it would be a mess from the start.

    Doc Baker and Nicole- HA HA HA now wouldn’t that be a match made in heaven, especially if they have a kid together, imagine that one?

    Will- we need to find Will a girl, maybe they can bring someone new to Salem for him and maybe even see him go into schemeing like his mother, that would be something to see.

    Lucas- he needs to come back! he needs a good girl! but who? a write in candidate maybe?

    Well that is my theory and I am sticking to it, oh would I have a hay day if I were a writer for that show…

I heard, and this is hearsay, but I heard that the reason they haven’t been showing Ali is because the producers are in conflict with the child’s parents over something that was either done on camera or over some money situation, I dunno, but I did hear that the reason she hasn’t been on camera in a while is because her parents have pulled her temporarily and the show doesn’t wanna recast her just yet, maybe they hope to resolve the issue and keep her. I don’t think they could have found a child to look as much like Sami as that little girl does.

33. Nancy– i agree. I also read that in July– the 1st and 2nd– DAYS will be preempted again for tennis. This time it’s the US OPEN. Maybe it’s b/c I am not a tennis fan, but I can’t see that it would draw that big of an audience. It would be nice if it could be shown for those who want to watch it, but also put DAYS in for one hour. It is the ONLY soap NBC has left.

    Leigh– interesting about the little girl(s) who play Allie. Hadn’t heard that. They really need to get her back on screen to make Sami’s family complete.

34. I agree–why stick that tennis match in the DOOLs time slot. I just saw on the spoilers that they had to change the date of Alice’s passing from the 22nd to the 23rd of June because of an “oil spill related pre-emption”. Now what on earth could they possibly be scheduling about the oil spill this far in advance.

    Answer: The oil spill already pre-empted an episode, which is why the scheduled June 22 epi now airs a day later (June 23)

37. ROTFL that anyone would be naive enough to believe anything Corday says! He likes to dangle and humor viewers. Been doing it for years. He does not do interviews, he does publicity stunts. Anyhow, here is the important stuff in a nutshell for anyone interested. Rafe and Sami will get back together in September. For how long remains a mystery and yeah I agree, where the heck is Ally these days that little girl was cute. Hope they will not be sorasing her and Johnny.

40. Sometimes when Days is interrupted by tennis or world events you can still catch it on the soap station at 6 and 11 pm ( eastern time). But lately they haven’t been showing missed episodes-just the day before’s episode.
    Rafe looks damn good in that jail cell ( and everywhere). I wish I could get a conjugal visit…

46. Here is my take on the morning-after pill. I think that what they are trying to imply is that it would prevent pregnancy for any unprotected sex within the past, and I’m just guessing here, 24-48 hours. But, if Steph was already pregnant from a previous encounter, the fetus would not be harmed–and I think that is where they are stretching the truth a bit–as soap operas tend to do.

47. I am curious about Ken Corday’s book. What does everyone think about it? I have been reluctant to purchase it, as I have been under the impression he was responsible for John and Marlene leaving the show. To me, this is unforgiveable. I have been watching Days since the very first show and have always loved it. John and Marlena were my favorite super couple and Days will never be the same for me without them. Don’t want to support anyone who had anything to do with them being written off the show. Appreciate your feedback.

48. I must say I’m a bit disappointed with Ken Corday. He jumps all over people when they even hint at a sl but since he’s in charge he can spill what he wants.
    It’s almost enough to make me stop watching again. I want to see how all of this falls out but at the same time PLEASE>>>>>where are his poll numbers?
    They want to expand on what they have not drowned us in goody goody land. At least that’s my opinion. I watch soaps because they pull me away from daily life. I like see daily things happen but I want DOOL not the Waltons!
    I know that “good” should win over “evil” but at ths same time hello writers—-you like to change history all the time, age kids, recreate backstories, forget about some sl all together. WHY OH WHY can’t you just see a good thing and run with it for a bit?
    I know that everyone has their favorite couple. And I also know in soap land couples don’t tend to stay together anymore–well then writers quit having people have kids with people you keep apart!
    I understand that this truly does happen in real life. However I want a bit more please. I can only take this for so long.
    I quit watching days in 1998 and didn’t come back until 2002/3. I decided to give it another shot. Its sad but during that time I had to do research to find out what I missed because the sl were GOOD. There was mystery there was romance there were great locations and secrets that had to be solved.
    What’s next? Are we going to find out that the Bradys and DiMeras have been related the entire time!
    Why can’t we have a family that has just a touch of drama.
    Why can’t there be someone slipping Sammi in her food for mind control. Then Rafe has to figure it all out. Will turns to the dark side and EJ hasn’t a clue for any of it.
    Let us have a couple together for longer than a few months. Let’s have weddings–(I know budgets are tight!)on the grand scale like we use too.
    You can tell on whether a couple is going to make it by how their wedding is. Test it–look back at the weddings and you tell me.
    Everyone who has a quick wedding and few people end up annuled (cause its Salem and of course divorce is out of the question–but just about everything else is ok!)and then within a few DAYS they are in bed with someone else.
    If it were up to me Sammi would be alone for a while. No EJ no Rafe. Let her stand like her Mom on her own two feet! Let her be a power of her own. She needs to see that this tug isn’t good for anyone especially herself!
    For you Safe fans—I want you to think about this. What other purpose does Rafe have on the show other than pulling at Sammi?
    For the Ej/Sammi fans–we all know that EJ serves a purpose outside of Sammi.
    As I have said before, IF you want me to root for Rafe then make him front and center in his own SL!!
    Of course the reaction (generaly speaking) is that Rafe is the good guy. I will remind you that your good guy wanted to adopt another man’s child without telling the father! That he has hunted down a woman just because he wants to be right. That he doesn’t want to be lied too but is pefectly ok with lieing to her.
    I’m not saying EJ is perfect but come on! This evens them out.
    As for the other sl–Chloe and Dan had (HAD) potenial. Its becoming boring to watch them day in and day out with Carley threatening Chole and then where did Chole leave her brain? When she teamed up with Viv?? They have again taken a strong female character and made her mush.
    Ken Corday—nice to see that your view of women is either depend on a male or that they lose their brains and become mush. I really hope you leave Kate alone because if she turns next I would say that Salem shouldn’t have another marraige! EVER!

49. Verna, I haven’t purchased Ken Corday’s book and do not plan to. Have heard different things about it, he talks in the beginning about the start up of Days and about his parents dream for DOOL. I also heard (again no verification if a fact), that he talks a bit about alot of different couples and a couple storylines, I think its just commentary and/or from a writers perspective.

    About the Sami/Rafe bit he talked about in an interview, SAFE fans don’t get too excited now. I am not solely an EJami fan nor am I solely a SAFE fan so this is from a neutral party. Ken Corday has said many things in the past, most notably that Steve/Kayla were going to get a good storyline, and the opposite has come true. With the Steve/Kayla incident he said they would get a good storyline (which they did not, hardly even a decent or deserving one) and yet 6 months later they were written off. Not trying to rain on anyones parade or be “mean”, just saying.

56. Abbie, I am so with you about making Sami stand on her own. I enjoy the sl’s no matter what and would never complain because even if I think a sl is going in a direction I won’t like they pull something out of their hats that makes me wanna watch the sl, no matter who it involves. While I do enjoy two very gorgeous men fight for a woman, I think Sami should stand alone for a while, like the cheese! lol. I’m not saying that they should take Rafe and EJ and make them stop chasing Sami, just keep her single for a while. Wouldn’t that be Days history made? Sami Brady a single woman.

58. I REALLY hope that Ken Corday would not try to use DOOL in order to sell books! To me thats just wrong!
    Ok–on another note I am caught up now with DOOL. I finished the DVR of them today on lunch. I enjoyed seeing Rafe and Shane work together. I think that if used properly they could form the next incarnation of Roman and Bo. I like that Rafe is starting to become likeable. He is away from Sammi and has a purpose. Granted the long term purpose is to get back to Sammi–but its ok.
    Seeing them work with each other really had me pause and not ff the scenes.
    Chole–good lord! What else can we do to this woman already?!? Again just another woman taken from bright and strong to weak and man starved. Please give her, her brains back!
    EJ and Sammi–light up my screen!! I had to take it back a few times and re-watch it. NICE!!!!
    Wondering if some of the beach rumors are true given AS’s tweets? hhhhhmmmmm I could allow JS to run around half naked on my tv. It would be hard but I’m willing to make that committment!!!!

    The reason I say that is because a lot people like to bring up all of the past (which I have said that writers like to rework, ignore, or just forget altogether)and use it as a tool for the two of these guys.
    To me there is still alot of Rafe that we don’t know. There is still alot of questions that I would like answered. They dropped the Emily thing awful quick. It seems that if you want us to buy into the whole hero thing and I’m better than Ej because I’m the hero then give me a reason other than because your FBI.
    At least with Ej we know what we are getting. A likable villian.
    For me Rafe just doesn’t have that. I don’t know what I’m getting with him. All I see is a man who is willing to break the law himself but not let others around him. A man who wants to flash his badge to get what he wants but then gets upset because people lie to him.
    They are more alike I think then people want to say. However I don’t think Rafe is the hero. From what I see he is just only slightly better than EJ in this sl. Both men are doing what they feel they have to, to get Sammi.
    Let her stand on her own for a while.
    I want EJ and Sammi together–i sure do–but I also want them to get together in a way that would be solid. I think if we all want for Days to go back to more romance and stories of old (updated) then we need to allow some foundations that have been built to have a chance.

60. I don’t think it evens them out but Ej has never acted like he was a saint. Rafe is portrayed to be the ‘good guy’ yet he has done some shady stuff for being in law enforcement and he is talked about by the Safe’s as being so wonderful. I’m an Ejami fan and I know Ej has a sketchy, evil past but so does Sami and that’s why they pair up so well. Sami and Rafe are boring together. But at least he’s teaching Will that advanced algebra…wow, that was actually funny.

62. Alison you’re right! I am an EJ (and somewhat an EJAMI) fan for sure…but didn’t think too deeply about the Rafe tutoring thing…wow, it does seem pretty comical. Rafe could follow in Bo’s footsteps potentially, if they actually let us know about his sordid history! At least we all know Bo was a rebel…and he didn’t deny or ignore it! I feel like I’m starting to enjoy Rafe more now that he’s got more of a leg to stand on in the SL w/Shane.

67. I haven’t read the Corday interview yet, but I’ve learned to take everything he says with a great big grain of salt! I admit that I’m a fan of Sami &EJ, so I’m not happy about the news that she’s getting back with Rafe. Someone said earlier that EJ is the likable villain,& Rafe is the unlikable good guy — I totally agree! Very well put! I really hated the way Rafe dogged Anna. Even when the doctor told him she could die, all he wanted was to get her to talk, no matter what might happen to her. Last I knew, Anna was not under arrest or even officially charged with any crime, & pushy Rafe was in a country with no U.S. extradition! What kind of an FBI agent gets to spend his whole career running all over the world, doing whatever he wants, & has no interest in any case unless it involves the DiMeras?? Let Rafe get over this obsession & get a life! Maybe the “dead” finacee, Emily, could return! Chances are, he’d have more chemistry with her than he does with Sami!! Sami & EJ, on the other hand, really have it — how hot was that kiss??!!

    I agree with you 100% about Rafe and Shane. I like them together. I like how they work together. I am starting to like Rafe! Not because I want him with Sammi but because he is on his own. He is being the sl instead of supporting it.
    Nicole is getting old. Yet another woman who feels she needs her man. At least with this one she is doing her schemes and not just losing brain cells.
    Yesterday with Hope I had to run and get tissues. When these scenes come up its going to be a heart breaker and a tear jerker for sure!
    Some of the sl are going to slowly grind to a halt for the funeral, which to me for Francis Reed its the least she deserves! However I do like how they are continuing with life in Salem. If this keeps unfolding the way they are doing it then they (writers) may show that they really can write things we want to see again. As sad as this is maybe–just maybe they will keep this up!

71. I have always been a fan of Hope and Bo, but Hope was gone for about 4 years (1990-1994?. During this time, Bo was with Carly and Billie. I really enjoyed when he was with Carly. They were so in love and since we all thought Hope had died, it was easy to embrace them. Billie came between Bo and Carly, she was a drug addict, but eventually wanted to be a better person. Carly eventually ended up with Victor (yuck) but it was a loveless marriage. Victor even tried to kill Bo his own son, in an elevator accident (it’s always an elevator!)Sooo seeing Carly and Bo is not that strange. It’s just hard to accept because Hope is alive. We saw Hope/Gina drive Bo and Billie apart when she returned in 1994. Let’s see Bo and Hope again.

72. OH, if I only had a nickle for every time I’d like to scream to Carly and Melanie – “MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS”. And then for Carly to actually say to Chloe, “I’m only thinking of you. 75. I just wish that Days had a viable power couple- what is this show thinking. FOR REAL!? I am a bit disappointed to hear that Sami and Rafe are getting back together, I honestly think that they should let Sami and EJ be a power couple for awhile- that or let Bo and Hope have their spotlight back. Every soap has their power couple, and right now Days is severely LACKING. I am happy to see that they are bringing back familiar faces and letting Alice go out the way that she deserves too- maybe this will be the thing that will bring Bo and Hope back together. 95. I love that all the vets are back in town! How sad is it though that they only happy couples are the ones who are in Salem for a funeral?! I really wish that Days would get back to sls that involve “true love” you know the ones where a person refuses any and all other attention/isnt attracted to/tempted to be unfaithful with anyone else for any reason because they truly love and want just one person. 96. Sure has been great seeing several of the previous actors and actresses, (which by the way…look great!), on the program for the farewell respect for Mrs. H.,(almost seems like a family reunion)! Doesn’t seem like they have been gone this long, maybe,just on a long nice vacation.

I know when max went to go get her 3 years ago she was in France and I don’t think she was in high school them. I wonder if they’ll let Nick come from prison to attend Alice’s funeral? I think that since Shane and the ISA are back in Salem that they should do another sl with Stefano,Shane,Victor like the one that they did with John when he first arrived in Salem, only this time I think the pawn should be Emily… I would love to see another sl that has Victor and Stefano interact as well as drawing in most of the other vets and current cast. Nancy I totally agree about Melanie,I used to love her character now Mel acts too much like the old Stephanie(who I couldn’t stand,too judgmental,nosy crybaby)but I must say I am starting to like this Stephanie,I think she is a good actress and does crazy very well,lol ANYTHING is better than watching Stephanie cry and wag her fingers at the people of Salem and I think that she is doing a good job with this sl,even if I do not really care for the sl myself. I think the only way that I could warm up to Rafe’s character is if the writers have him apologize to EJ and then leave EJ and whatever info he gets on EJ alone because imo that is the only way that I can get behind Rafe as being the good guy.I thought he was at first but the writers ruined that for me when they had Rafe help Sami hide Grace from EJ and then threaten to leave Sami if EJ knew about his own child, because for me the true good guy(hero) does what is right no matter what and puts his own feelings second and until Rafe does that he will remain on my unliked character list.lol I think this is the perfect time for him to man up and do that. I really do not care anymore if Sami/Rafe end up together or Sami/EJ do. I don’t know Melanie’s exact age, but like I said, 3 or so years ago when Max went to get her she was not in school, I don’t remember there being any controversy over her switching schools between countries. I do remember this though, when it was just premiering her as Max’s sister it showed her doing a “Premier Party Girl” web show that was pretty provocative as my memory serves me, so I don’t see Days having a teenager doing such a thing. I remember that Nick used to watch it before he ever met her, cause that’s where he fell in love with her, and didn’t they talk to each other on the internet a lot before they ever met or anyone ever knew who she really was? I think that there was something like that going on. That’s why Nick was so in love with her, he already had been acquainted with her before her move to Salem. Come to think of it, when they first introduced Stephanie she was out of school too and racing cars, so if I were to venture a guess, mine would be that Melanie is about 23-25 and Stephanie is about 28-30. Also, does anyone remember when they had Phil and Chloe and Shawn and Belle’s high school reunion? I know that when they were all graduating was in my first years of college and that they should not be already graduating, I think the writers skipped about 5 years there, I’m going to research that a little more.. On the show it seems that Philip is in his 30’s and if my memory serves me he shouldn’t be that old either. I think this is done on purpose, confusing all of us on these people’s age group, maybe we’re supposed to keep wondering, it’s like they change their age by a year or so here and there to serve the sl in whatever manner the writers need it to be, I actually enjoy going crazy with wonder about this!

114. Leigh- Phillip is supposed to be approaching late 20’s ish, but the actor who plays Phillip is actually I think 31 if I remember correctly. I went to HS with Jay, which is why i was like, NO WAY- That’s Jay on my tv . Melanie I assumed was always in her late teens-ish, which is why i found it weird that she and Phillip married, but oh well.. can’t win em all. Stephanie is around the same age as Chelsea, who I am guessing is like early 20’s ish, maybe mid 20’s. Wow time flies when people grow up on soaps, right?

     I honestly lost track of a lot of ages mostly due to where they have the storylines go… what i want to know is, how old is Dan, and why is he going after women that are just barely older than his daughter? Look at Chelsea, and look at Chloe- I mean i am guessing that since he had a kid I am going to place him at approaching early 40’s- despite the fact I think the soap has prolly got him mid 30s.

116. I am really enjoying Victor/Maggie and Stefano/Kate. Never thought I could appreciate these older couples but I do. Not that I want to see any love scenes mind you, but it’s nice to see women love these villians and see their soft side. I also like the scenes with Stefano and Will and the few scenes we have seen with his grandchildren.

     I also like the idea of encouraging abstinence on the show. EVery little bits helps as we try reach our children and teach them values.

     It’s been great seeing the former characters, Melissa, Jennifer, Mike (tho I haven’t actually seen him yet!) I really wish they would come visit more often!

117. Now that we’ve been talking about it I swear I really wanna know how old these people are supposed to be. Especially Melanie’s age, that’s bugging me to no end! Nancy, I remember something being said about 20 years ago but that could just be them saying around about 20 years ago, I swear I don’t remember them saying that Melanie was in High School when Max went to get her and that was around the time my son was born, and he is almost 4. Now, just because I don’t remember them saying it doesn’t mean it wasn’t said, and maybe they just skipped that little detail because it just wasn’t important with the sl that was going on. I dunno, but I’m not counting on any of this to be realistic, it’s a soap, and they tend to leave out minute details like that sometimes.

To the best of my recollection, I think it was a conversation between Mel and Maggie after Mel and Phillip announced their engagement. I think Maggie said something about Mel being “too young” for marriage, and I think her reply included something about her being 18. I do believe Mel was supposed to have been in boarding school in France when Max went to get her, how many years ago? I think “18″ is stretching it a bit on the young side, but I guess that is all part of the soap opera genre–you can stay the same age for decades–or you can age decades in a matter of months!

Not to complain or whine here, but one thing that is really bugging me lately is how Stephanie is telling every female role model she has in her life how she tried to trap Nathan, like it’s no big deal! She admits to doing it, but she talks about it like she lied to him about something as simple as why she stood him up or something like that. She admits she knew it was wrong, but the smug look on her face while she says it just makes it hard to believe her when she acts so repentent. That may set a bad example for young girls watching this show with their mothers.

125. Well, it is a soap opera so the female characters do all kinds of things that would be deemed unacceptable in real life. And what Stephanie was doing is the oldest trick in the book anyway. What I take offense to is unstable Melanie going from a con artist to goodie goodie nurse. While it is true that Steph has that smug little smile, it does not unsettle me nearly as much as Melanie’s crazy, angry grin.      I drank at bars when I was 18, illegally.College stuff.I wasnt married to a billionaire, unfortunately. Nobody ever gets carded at the Cheatin’heart. DOOL writers should do something funny-like one week out of the year make a realistic, everyday show. 144. I am really enjoying all these “oldies” being back! Thought Thursdays show was wonderful.
     Kate always has lots of color going on in her hair. She had a smaller blue streak on one side for a while. I think they just made it bigger. I kinda like it. She’s so beautiful anyway!
     I think Brady and Nicole really have something with each other. I like their connection.

151. becca, both Hope & Julie are Alice’s granddaughters. They are also sisters and Julie is also Hope’s step mother. Addie was their mother. Addie, husband,Julie and son lived in a foreign country, teenage Julie came to live with grandparents Tom and Alice, who raised her. Julie and Doug later began dating and fell in love and then they broke up. Addie’s husband died and she moved back to Salem. Addie and Doug got married and had Hope. While Hope was a baby, Addie saved her life from a car driver and was herself killed. A little later, Doug and Julie reunited, and Julie, Hope’s much older sister (probably 25 years) became her step mother. Hope was raised by them but was also under the influence of Alice and Tom, her grandparents.
     I agree with Nancy, Deb and others that are upset with Bo. Inspite of the love they had, Bo has ruined too much. Bringing the tramp Carly into his and Hope’s home and even telling Carly he loves her in frount of his little girl. Unbelievable. Wake up Bo – and Hope move on to Justin, who I think will treat you much better.

158. Marilyn, Addie had leukemia and went in a coma, then came out of the coma when giving birth to Hope. Leukemia was in admission. Then a few months later she had the accident while pushing baby Hope in a stroller and a car was aimed at them, she pushed the stroller away but the car hit and killed her. I remember that Doug who had loved Julie fell in love with Addie after they married. Then refell in love with Julie a couple years after Addie died. I remember he and Robert (his French friend who worked for him at Doug’s Place) raising Hope while living in an apartment behind the restaurant. As he was raising Hope, she also became an important part of Alice and Tom’s life.
     Ahhhhhhhhh, I wish the writers could write stories like that again. Remember when Lee, a former wife of old Doug reappeared between Addie’s death and Doug falling in love again with Julie? In real life she was married to the guy that stared on Increadible Hulk. Sadly while playing the part on DOOL she, I believed killed herself. I think I remember that she had a child that was in an accident and she couldn’t get over the depression. A beautiful actress!!!!

167. I had completely forgot about the whole Steve/Kayla/Philip/Pocket thing. Wasn’t there also a little boy somewhere too and the mom was supposed to be a surrogate for Phil and Mimi but once the marriage was over Phil didn’t want anything to do with the kid but a couple years later he went looking for it and the mom was a nutcase? Or is this one big sl I have gotten confused as two? I just remember pocket being a baby but the little boy being almost school age. Didn’t Mimi’s mom pay that woman lots of money that she was getting from Mickey cause she wanted the baby and the mom was threatening abortion cause Phil quit giving her any money but that fell through too? Leigh,Phillip and Mimi signed over their rights to the baby that the surrogate was carrying and that is how Bonnie(currently Adrienne again now) was able to pay her to continue on with the pregnancy as Bonnie wanted the baby simply because he was part of the Kiriakis family and she thought he would be her little cash cow. Phillip decided he wanted to find his son after things went wrong for him with Belle/Claire/Shawn so he started to search for the little boy,the surrogate mom died after a fall down some steps when Philip saw her at the hospital and she tried to run away from him. she died before she could tell him where Pocket was which is how the baby came to be with Steve and Kayla. I only remember Pocket as a baby on the show,I dont think he was ever shown as an older child but I may have missed a scene where the show did that with him. I only know of Claire being Philip’s daughter awhile back. I thought I remembered Kayla being the one to talk Philip into allowing Pocket to stay with his adoptive family but after the show the other day when Kayla was so mad at Philip for leaving Pocket with his adoptive family I am not sure. does anyone else know if I remembered the sl correctly and that happened with Kayla or if I am going crazy?lol

174. It’s really hard NOT to have chemistry with James, you tell me what woman on this earth wouldn’t be hot and bothered by him, something about those British guys just makes me sweat. 180. I am wondering who the new face in Salem is going to be? I sure hope that it is Emily. I think that would be the best solution for the whole problem of who should be with who because imo Rafe may have better chemistry with another actress and EJ and Sami can finally have their chance to be given a sl where there is no triangle and we the viewers can finally see Sami acknowledge and deal with the fact that she is in love with a Dimera. I want to see a sl that includes the history of the two families and proves that sometimes no matter what has happened in the past that love can and will change all that.I also want to see EJ get out from underneath Stefano’s thumb. If EJ’s secret comes out and Sami continues to love EJ anyway that will give EJ an out. EJ and Phillip both are such great leading men that I find the writing of them insulting when they are living at home or in another person’s home instead of one of their own.I know the show has a budget to watch but I personally would rather have Philip or EJ in their own place and more interesting sls than Dan and Chloe having their own apartment and 900 sex scenes on that couch…I hope that whatever happens the writers/producers start to make these sls more interesting,stable,loving and family oriented as the revolving door theory really takes away from having the characters do anything else.

One other thing that is bugging me is I find it to be annoying whenever anyone says things on the show like all it takes is Dimera blood to be evil…do the writers forget that Sami’s children are Dimera’s,so is John and Belle and Brady and none of the above are tainted forever because of their bloodline.I think the writers need a new objection for the Brady’s to have to Sami and EJ being together as they all love John,Belle,Sami’s kid,Brady and even Lexie so why don’t the writers surprise us an actually have someone in the Brady family remember this and be in support of Sami and EJ or just of Sami following her heart in general no matter where that is?And Rafe also needs to stop saying things like that as he wants to be a step father to two Dimera children and I do not think it would be good for any child to believe that their blood is all it takes to be to considered evil…

182. Well let’s not forget they DID do a sl that combined both families, Santo and Colleen, and it DID tell their history, but once again their history made the DiMeras out to be evil. I for one ENJOY having the evil DiMeras doing just what they do best, being evil. I just wish EJ would quit being conflicted and either embrace his evil side or cut ties with Stefano and go legit, you can’t have it both ways, even in a soap. But they’ll probably kill him off the minute they start writing him that way cause that’s what they did to Tony, he started going out and trying to make an empire for himself, trying to get the Fuels project, etc, and whaddya know, GONE. Although EJ has more ties to the show than Tony did, kids and clients ntm Sami. 201. Abbie from your lips to the soap Gods ears is all that I can pray for…lol I personally do not think that I could tolerate Rafe and Sami as a couple again for long. Sami and EJ were meant for each other and imo anything less than a true love story for them in the future(this year!!!) would be a tragedy and failure on the part of the show to recognize what a great thing they have going on with these two actors. Nancy, Carly married Victor after Bo pushed her away and Victor manipulated her into believing that there was no chance for Carly and Bo as a couple. Victor knew that Carly didn’t love him (it was platonic all the way) but he wanted her for himself so he even attempted to have Bo killed to eliminate him as competition for Carly… I think it is so funny how the writers try to now make Carly into the devil where Victor is concerned since Victor seems to now hate her(for what??IDK)but in fact Victor was the true bad guy in the sl back then.

     I’m not to happy about the whole Chole thing. I forsee this happening::::: The test is going to show that the baby is Phils. This is going to push Daniel and Chole apart. Nat will be there for her and guess what whoops….then Mel is going to find out she is preggers and is now in the same position Chole is in. However Mel hides that its Nats and claims its Phils. Lynn, I think that the reason Victor hates Carly is purely because she moved in on Bo and finished wrecking his marriage, I don’t think there’s much more to it than that, he has never given another reason as far as I have seen. Maybe Stephanie will tamper with the results, get caught, and go to prison for a long time, I know in the history of Days people NEVER get in trouble for that, but MAYBE JUST MAYBE this once, for me please? 212. I was so mad today when Justin told Bo about his intentions with Hope and Bo’s smug attitude was’ “How silly, to think that Hope would be interested in him (Justin). 223. …nancy, the hurt that kate was referring to was when chloe accused phillip of raping her…it turned out that she LIED about the rape….she flirted with phillip in the horse-barn and things got hot-n-heavy, but she got cold feet and asked phillip to stop, he at first refused to because she was always playing hot-n-cold with him, but eventually he stopped and her blouse was alittle torn in the process….she told her parents and brady that he never stopped….she was eventually caught in the lie……this is why victor hates her too..

227. Chloe you’re right, that’s who Maxine is, she’s not always on the show, just at the hospital from time to time, she had her biggest run when Mel was an intern. I really like her personally. I think they replaced her for a couple of episodes back a couple weeks ago but she’s right back in it. Maybe, since Chloe lied on Philip already and said he raped her, (which leaves one to wonder WHY IN THE HELL he would ever touch her again, no matter how much alcohol was involved), maybe she’ll say he raped her again and she’s terrified of him. Daniel already pointed out how upset she is everytime she talks to him, maybe they had Daniel make that statement cause Chloe is gonna lie on him again. He ended up living with them and Hope subsequently went to visit quite often. She got Zack back. This sl would have to be Zack, not JT, since Chad obviously does not have Down’s syndrome. 283. I want to see Rafe and Sami together so badly. I hope he doesn’t put them together just to tear them apart quickly. E.J. may appear charming, but he is still a snake at heart and would not hesitate to kill or do anything to get what he wants. He would kill Rafe in a heartbeat if he knew he would get Sami.

284. Mariyn, good eye and ear, I didn’t notice that myself. But the thing that gets me is why would Stefano be upset if Lucas played into the Chad thing? Unless somehow it was a DiMera woman and Lucas, but even with writers who can change the nature of a character with one pen mark I’m not sure Lucas would ever touch a DiMera. Betty, I have been saying that same thing your bf said, SHUT UP DANIEL! Everytime Chloe starts to tell him the truth he makes excuses and pretty much tells her that anything she has done can be forgiven cause he loves her, it’s almost like he’s forgiving her before he even knows what she is about to say, and not only that but he also says he knows what she is going to say before she even says it, he’s a doctor, not a psychic. Also Betty, I totally agree with you on the Bo and Hope thing, couldn’t have said it any better myself. I like you, you seem to agree with me on EVERYTHING dools. Sunset, you took the words right out of my mouth on the Ari and Chloe thing, gonna miss Lindsey, always loved her as Theresa and am still grieving the loss of Passions, and really hate to see one more person fall victim to Nicole, the writers matched Ari, a new character that nobody knew or cared for at first, against one of the all-time faves (not mine personally, but) of DOOLS, nobody can stand against the strong nature and will of Nicole, and especially if it involves money, a man, or both, cause we’ve seen the lengths she goes to when she wants something. They should have made her and Stephanie rivals, maybe she could have come out on top and we would still see more of Arianna. Sad to see her go.

285. Rafe and Nicole? Hmmm I do recall an interesting moment they had at Grace’s grave way back when. Now they would at least be something new and fresh! Btw I love Nicole! Just think she makes Brady look silly and want him to be more of a lead hero type, not some dame’s victim all the time. And personally I am glad when Daniel makes Chloe shush, cos all she gets are those repeated lines so when he makes her shush, I don’t have to hear it all again lol!

286. Nicole and Rafe could start out as a ploy to make EJ and Sami upset. Then it could change into love?? Not a bad idea and could really go somewhere.
     Does anyone know why JS cut his hair? Its short I mean super short…He still looks good but now I want to know why….Is it sl related?
     Looks like Sami is going to say yes to EJ’s proposal! YEAH!!! Now if we can get them just past the alter and then we can move forward. I know we have been teased with a huge twist and I would really like that to be that Sami figures it out! and forgives. After all this wouldn’t have happend if she had been honset to begin with!
     Oh and Chad needs to be Tony’s! Kate could have been thinking about Lucas because she lied to him about how his dad was…Maddie was doing the same thing to Chad. If Chad is Tony’s then we would have set up the next generation of DiMera and Brady in Will and Chad….

291. Sami belongs with EJ. Honestly I could stand seeing Sami and Rafe together for a while if it meant Sami would cheat on Rafe with EJ. Basically like a replay of what happened with Lucas. Just not entirely the same. I’m at the point extreme desperation to see Sami with EJ. Four years is a long time! Haha.

292. Hope and Bo had problems. Hope was not always right but remember the reason she moved out was to give them time to think things through – because Bo DID Make Life and Death Decisions about their daughter without even listening to Hope. I think Hope was wrong but I can see where she was coming from. Important decision like the life of your child and your opionion means nothing! Yes, she needed time to get over the hurt and feeling that Bo rejected her feelings and intelligence. Soooooooo Bo then keeps secrets from his wife with his ex-lover. Yell, I think I’d be pretty much like Hope at that point. Then in less then a month Bo is sleeping with Carly. Come on……blame Hope. No not me Bo is a butt hole for this caper. Even his mom tried to tell him. And Bo praded his relationship with Carly in front of his little girl. Told Carly he loved her and kissed her in front of Cieara. IMO makes him the bad daddy of the year. Come on Hope and Justin. Bo you don’t deserve her.

293. Hej come on, u can not blame everything on Bo. Yes it was wrong to move on so fast, but Hope is allways the one to leave. She gets angry everytime Bo don’t agree with her. We can see how this is going to play out.. Hope will get arrested, Bo and Carly feel guilty.. They will not stay together.. Bo will do everything to be the hero and save his fancy face from jail. Carly will probebly hock up with Daniel after he ditches Chloe and is done being angry with Carly for keeping the secret. Anyone predict the same?

294. Heres a great twist, bring robo John back and have him be Chad’s father. He did this when he was Stefanos pawn. Now that we know he is a Dimera at least it wont be another Stefano child out of the woodwork. Totally nonrelated, what is up with all the shorty short dresses on the show. If these women bend over you will see their livers!

295. Still really enjoying bad Hope. I like Baker still, but I guess he will be leaving for the new web series.
     What about Adrienne and Roman as a couple? Since her and Justin seem to be over…
     I still really would like to see Brady and Nicole together. I also think Rafe’s character would be better as a bad guy.
     I hope Chad is anyone’s son but Stefano’s. He has enough.
