ENTER THE VAMPIRE Previously on SOAP SINS - The following week, Dakota took her little man son all over Hollywood to show him the sets and sights, refusing to give the paparazzi any details. On New Year’s Day, he even accompanied her, along with Brent the blond surfer dude and Chip the producer, to the Walk of Fame, where Dakota Diamonelle received her own star. The soap diva was now a bona fide celebrity. She gave her best pearly white smile as the cameras flashed and didn’t answer any questions. It was a glorious afternoon ... until an unmarked car sped up and two Secret Service men jumped out, whisking away Christopher Kent Clayburn the Third before he could even react. The car sped off. The paparazzi snapped pictures. Dakota cried “My baby!” and there was the sound of an explosion . No one was hurt but it would prove to be a major game changer. The story now continues ... - Never mind that the Secret Service car had blown all its tires at the same time, but when the boy they had been ordered to "escort" home bolted, they failed in their attempts to follow him, tripping over some unseen force. Unseen to all except Madame Etelka the psychic, who had been there to offer her support when Dakota got her star on the walk of fame. As little Christopher ran into his mother's arms, the paparazzi rushed ahead to snap more pictures of the car, which was now oddly emitting smoke. - Etelka gave Dakota a strange look and indicated, with her eyes, the figure walking towards them in the haze. Dakota stroked her son's head and blinked at the figure. "Dragos?" She blinked again but no one was there. - "He projected himself here to help the boy," the psychic whispered. - Dakota was shocked. "He can do that???" - "I can do anything!" exclaimed little Christopher."I can escape from anybody." - Brent the blond surfer dude high fived him. "Awesome!" - Nick the prime time husband announced it was time to go before more Secret Service men showed up. Dakota pouted defiantly. "I'm calling a press conference." She then stepped forward and waved to the press and paparazzi to come back. They did. It wasn't every day a soap diva wanted to make a personal statement on live TV. Especially when the wind and commotion had messed her hair. They gathered around her and she stepped back beside her brand new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as if to remind the world that a star was about to speak. - "This was an abduction attempt by the father of my son Christopher." - Nick gulped. - Dakota continued, her eyes blazing, and told them the whole sordid story about the powerful politician. When it was over, she blew them a kiss and let the L.A.P.D. walk them to Nick's car. - Chip the producer called that evening and congratulated her on the publicity the scandal had brought. "Your statement went viral!" he gushed. "Definitely Emmy worthy stuff." - Dakota thanked him and rejoined Nick by the pool, where they were enjoying a nightcap. Christopher was sleeping upstairs in his bed. The stars were twinkling as much as the smoggy night sky would allow. Nick excused himself to get more ice. Dakota sipped her martini and wondered what her lawyer would advise. Without any warning, a loud crashing sound was heard and a bolt of lightning struck for a split second at the other end of the pool. When it had cleared, there stood Dragos, in the flesh, grinning at her, dressed in a black Italian silk suit. - "Cool!" exclaimed Christopher, who had woken up and made his way downstairs. "You must be my vampire uncle ...!" |
