Previously on SOAP SINS Without any warning, a loud crashing sound was heard and a bolt of lightning struck for a split second at the other end of the pool. When it had cleared, there stood Dragos, in the flesh, grinning at her, dressed in a black Italian silk suit. "Cool!" exclaimed Christopher, who had woken up and made his way downstairs. "You must be my vampire uncle ...!" The story now continues ... - Dragos grinned at the vampire comment and lifted Christopher up the way a friendly uncle would. - Christopher asked his mother if he could jump in the pool. - Nick returned with a silver bucket of ice upon which he had thrown a few Australian beers. “Sure you can!” - Dakota told her son to at least get his swimsuit on. Christopher let out an excited yelp and ran upstairs. - “My apologies if my timing was inconvenient,” began Dragos. - Dakota flashed a pearly white smile. “You can drop in by lightning at my pool anytime.” - They all laughed. - Nick plopped down on a chair. “Care to stay for a beer, Drag?” - He nodded and accepted the can but made no move to open it. - Dakota stood up and slowly removed her sunglasses. She didn’t really need them as the sun had set ages ago, she just liked to wear them anytime she was out by the pool, for that old school Hollywood effect. “I know why you’re here,” she announced. She was about to add she was sure she had seen him when the Secret Service car taking away her son mysteriously blew its tires, but was interrupted by his rather unexpected response. - “Check your phone.” - “It’s turned off.” - “Then turn it on." - "Why?" - "You missed an important message.” - “But you’re here now.” She sipped her martini and suggested he sit down. - Dragos remained standing. - So did Dakota. - Nick’s curiosity got the better of him. He mused they seemed to be equally stubborn and reached over to the table and turned on her phone. It rang immediately. “Well I’ll be damned. You do have a message and that number looks like …” - Dakota snatched the phone away. - Dragos grinned. “Black nail polish. I like it.” - Nick whistled. “That number, I just realized it’s …” - Dakota told him to hush and silently listened to the message. At first, she looked surprised, then her eyes widened. “Amazing!” She turned off the phone and giggled. “Utterly amazing! Pete Peterson, head of the network that cancelled our show, actually wants us back! The network wants us back with a two year contract! We are an internet show no more, except for reruns, which will be uploaded to the network website.” - Nick was pleased as punch. “This calls for champagne!” - When her prime time husband had stepped away, Dakota peered at Dragos. “You knew, didn’t you, but how? You’re a supporting actor …” - Christopher returned in his swimsuit and jumped into the pool with a huge splash. When the water had settled again, Dragos and his Italian suit were gone. - Nick came back with a bottle of Cristal champagne and wondered what the perfect toast would be as he popped the cork and then looked around for his now absentee Transylvanian brother-in-law. - Dakota the soap star/co-executive producer raised her glass and purred “Darlings, it’s official. The bitch is back!” - Meanwhile Chip the producer found himself face to face with an armed intruder in the foyer of his Bel Air mansion. The intruder raised his gun and proceeded to pull the trigger ... |
