MURDER!

Previously on SOAP SINS
- The imposter cameraman reached for something in his pocket but Dakota was faster. She pulled the trigger and he fell to the floor, stone cold dead. She dropped her pink revolver onto the red carpet as the cameras flashed all around her, still broadcasting live. Within seconds
the police were on the scene. Dakota was confident the footage would show she had acted in self-defense. So she thought ...

The story now continues ...

- Dakota's co-star lay dead on the red carpet and the worst thing was he was wearing no name clothes - a no no on the red carpet. Being dead
was no excuse, either. When the police arrived on scene, they seized all cameras that had filmed the shooting. Dakota held her head high and wondered whether they would charge her with murder in every degree even though she had shot him in self-defense.
- A very tall detective stepped forward. "No, ma'm, cos you didn't shoot him."
- She stuck out her lower lip in defiance. "I did too!"
- The detective bent down to retrieve her fallen pink revolver and
politely handed it back to her. "You forgot the bullets. He was shot by
the security man standing over ... Hey! Where did he go?" He turned back to his officers and ordered them to search for the now missing security man. On the one hand, Dakota was relieved her life's drama
was not going to mirror an unfair indictment and drawn out tainted trial resulting in a conviction and jail scenes. On the other hand, it irked her soap sensibilities that a non union member had stolen her thunder.
- The Euro-chef opened his eyes. "What happened?"
- Dakota pointed a long red fingernail at the paramedics who were wheeling the now dead Donny Donald to the waiting ambulance. It was the fastest way to get him to the coroner for an autopsy.
- The Euro-chef gasped. "Did you ...?"
- "No," she sighed and helped him to his feet. "A mysterious security
man shot him. That's what they say."
- "How exciting! Who?"
- "I don't know and apparently neither do they."
- The red carpet then went into lockdown.
- Needless to say, the Daytime Awards were dull in comparison, except when the wrong envelope was given for a technical award no one could pronounce correctly, and Chip the producer showed up to accept the award for outstanding television daytime drama that had become an online daytime drama and then went back to being a television daytime drama. It was a whole new category. Dakota did not win in the lead actress category. That honor went to the over painted blonde alcoholic from a competing network, who toppled down the steps to the stage
after accepting the award and then had a wardrobe malfunction.
- Dakota excused herself from the after parties and soon found herself entering the front hall of her house in the Hollywood Hills. Christopher was at a sleepover at a friend's house next door, so she was alone, at
least until she poured herself a glass of wine to relax. That was when Nick, her prime time husband who was supposed to be in rehab, appeared.
- "Hello, darlin!"
- She stared in disbelief at his security uniform and fake glasses. "It
was you! You saved me!"
- Before she could throw her arms around him in gratitude, he cleared
his throat and explained. "No, darlin, I just offed the son of a bitch because I knew all about your affair!"
- Dakota blinked and flashed back to that fateful sizzling hot summer
day ...
