BACK FROM THE DEAD!

Previously on SOAP SINS
- "It's true," Dragos insisted. "Dakota is half witch."
- She picked up her phone from the nearby Italian glass coffee table and pursed her famous red lips. There was a text from Marv her manager.
He was requesting a meeting at the Polo Lounge to discuss investing in her soap opera, which had gone from daytime to online, then back to daytime, and was presently poised to make its prime time debut. Marv wanted in.
- Dragos knew before she had told him and saw himself to the door.
"We will continue this conversation tomorrow. With time, you will have to accept your destiny. One cannot escape destiny."
- Nick quipped to have a nice flight home and Dragos departed silently into the night.
- Dakota fixed her makeup, grabbed her coral Armani jacket and car
keys, and made for the door ... until a gigantic fireball went crashing through the roof of her house, illuminating the entire Hollywood Hills.
- Her phone beeped with another incoming message. This was one
from Dragos.
- IT HAS BEGUN.

The story now continues ...

- Dakota and her prime time husband raced up the stairs to check the damage from the mysterious fireball that had shot out into the sky, illuminating the famous Hollywood sign.
- There was no damage to any window or ceiling on any floor. It boggled the mind, it did.
- Nick suggested they check the attic.
- Dakota sighed. "We don't have an attic."
- He turned and started down the stairs with a grumble. "No wonder we’re so dysfunctional. No basement, no attic, and your brother's a vampire."
- "That's half vampire!" she yelled as he disappeared from view. The chandelier in front of the bedroom door rattled and she shivered slightly.
- "I didn't mean to do it." It was her son, 11 year-old Christopher, who had come to stand in the middle of the hall. "At least my window was open."
- Dakota smiled the only sincere smile she had flashed all day. "Why
was your window open and what did you do?"
- "I made another fireball."
- Dakota laughed and flipped her dark hair the way she did when she
was about to ask something important. "What on earth are you talking about?"
- Christopher the future entertainment lawyer paused. "Some kids make cookies, others make sand castles, but I make fireballs. Really big ones."
- The next morning the sun came up without fanfare. It was a new day with new false nails and a new script to discuss. But Dakota had much
on her mind and made the mistake of opening up to Chip, the executive producer as they talked storyline in his office.
- "Christopher is a fire starter. He created a gigantic fireball from his
mind that lit up the Hollywood sky last night."
- Chip shook his head in disbelief. "We need to get him on the special effects team stat!"
- Dakota disagreed. "He's only 11 years old."
- "We'll get him the union rate and a tutor on set and keep the whole thing a secret from our competitors. The ratings will skyrocket. No one can afford effects like that on a soap opera budget!"
- That week Christopher got started on his new job. They filmed an episode with a costume party and the cast were told the special effects department had set up places for fireballs to appear. Christopher stood
by the cameraman and met each mark with an intense stare. The fireballs were small but gave the costume party the appearance of an event under attack.
- When the director yelled cut, the room was filled with applause. No
one except Chip and Dakota knew the fireballs had all come from a sixth grader. He was pumped by the time they left the studio.
- The Hollywood mother and son headed for an ice cream parlor, where he had a chocolate fudge soy deluxe and she enjoyed an orange sorbet shake. Christopher went back to the counter to ask for more chocolate sauce. Dakota removed her Australian designer hat and stretched her legs like a feline. It felt like the perfect warm evening sitting outside until ...
- The tall, good looking man was grinning as he sauntered toward her. "Long time no see, doll!"
- Dakota stared in shock. It was Donny Donald, her leading man who
had been shot dead at the Daytime Awards a few weeks earlier!
