DEAL WITH A VAMPIRE!

Previously on SOAP SINS

- Dakota reached back for her Prada bag and took out her house keys. They looked the same as usual. She drove to Chip's Bel Air mansion,  just to prove to herself that Dragos had been wrong. She pulled into the circular driveway with ease, stopped her car, and got out. Much to her dismay, one of her keys opened the front door. She told herself it must have been a skeleton key and walked in anyway. All of a sudden, a loud sports car pulled up. Chip the illustrious producer, who played the game to perfection, could shed an insincere tear, make a deal with the devil, hire and fire people with the loyalty of a snake, and oversee the craziest cliffhangers in daytime history, came in with a grin. "Honey, I'm home!"
- Dakota decided right then and there that if this was to be her existence, she would simply go from having the endless sleep to having an endless headache. But time was passing even faster than she could imagine ...

The story now continues ...

- Chip the executive producer was her husband and Dakota was also a blonde instead of a brunette. It was a double disaster. Chip was not her type and her lipstick was not the right shade for a blonde. And now Chip was approaching her for a kiss. Dakota shut her eyes, remembering what her therapist had told her in her early Hollywood years. The power of positive thinking. She was positive this was a mistake. She felt a breeze on her cheek and hoped the producer was not blowing on her face for seductive effect.
- Then her eyes flew open. Time must have passed fast again, for she was standing in the middle of a European-style village house.  It was quaint and primitive, like a set she had once been on when her character was kidnapped during a sweeps week.
- Dragos tossed another log on the fireplace from where the warm wind had come.
- Dakota stared at him."Where am I now?"
- Dragos shrugged his shoulders. "I had to do something."
- "What exactly do you mean by do something?"
- "Time travel. It's one of the advantages of being half vampire."
- She glanced around the dim room and noticed the pots hanging from
the wall. "Where and when am I?"
- "This is Transylvania a long time ago. I brought you here to change things back. I can get you sent back to that day and all you have to do
is change back what you should not have changed."
- "I was not supposed to tell my prime time husband to read Variety that day," she sighed. "Everything was fine until that point." She shuddered. "Chip and I were never supposed to happen."
- Dragos handed her a cup of tea in a brown cup. "Exactly. All you need to do is go back and change that detail to get the life of your dreams, the one you thought you were living all the time you were in a coma."
- She sipped the black tea as a lone wolf howled outside.
- Dragos took a sip of his own tea. "You look suspicious, my sister."
- She was about to tell him that she was, since it simply sounded too easy, too good to be true. There had to have been a catch. Just then a statuesque redhead with a pale complexion and eyes that were the same bright green as the doorman who had met her at the place of her coma walked through the front door, removed her long, dark cloth coat, and kissed Dragos on the mouth. They then smiled at each other the way lovers do.
- "This is Ana," he explained.
- Dakota extended a well-manicured hand. "I'm Dakota Diamonelle, the soap opera star."
- Ana frowned. "Soap opera?"
- "Television does not exist in the century we are in here," Dragos smoothly stated."But I'm prohibited from telling you more, except that
if you accept our offer to send you back to your earlier time to change things, you will be indebted."
- Dakota started to feel groggy and wondered whether it was the tea.
She staggered back and fell into a hard wooden chair. "Indebted to
who?"
- Dragos smiled. "To us, to my kind."
- Dakota nodded. He then waved his hand and said something she could not understand. Everything went black. When she opened her eyes, she was back in her house in the Hollywood Hills and her clueless prime time husband had just gotten out of bed. She did everything as before, except for telling him to go pick up his copy of Variety magazine. By the time she had returned from her afternoon jog in Santa Monica, it was the day after she had seen herself in a comatose state. That was then and this
was now. Dakota Diamonelle the brunette soap star was officially back
to her world, but at what cost? She found out the minute she stepped
into the marble foyer ...
