Long replay of distraught Carly exclaiming Melanie is her daughter, etc. The paramedics arrive and Justin informs the guests downstairs that Carly was the shooter. Kate is stunned. A cop prepares to cuff Carly. Brady points out she hurt her arm and so a lady cop walks with her as Brady accompanies. Mel has been wheeled out. Viv wishes to go as well, but Victor snaps she is not going anywhere! He stopped her from the poison comb fiasco, but why did she come to the rooftop, too! Viv feigns innocence. He sternly warns her if Melanie dies, it will be bad news for her. However, if she lives, it could turn out well indeed. The Greek tycoon elaborates. If Mel dies, he will have to avenge Phillip's heartbreak, but if she survives, then Phillip will have his happiness intact and Carly will be in prison for years. Therefore, Vivian should pray for recovery, that Melanie lives. He now drawls they should head for the hospital to see how things are going. Victor and Viv run into Lucas and Kate downstairs. Kate wonders why Carly would shoot her own daughter. Viv stammers she has a screw loose. When Vic and Viv go ahead, Kate tells Lucas that Viv appeared nervous and must have had something to do with what transpired on the rooftop.Lucas asks what it is to her. Kate replies if Phillip is hurt because of that one, she will pay the price! - At the pub, Rafe states he has many interviews today, though Sami is glum they will lead anywhere. He cuddles her on his lap and reassures her that he loves her, she should always remember that. He promises her they will get Sydney back. They kiss. - At the cabin, Elvis impatiently explodes at Anna that her fear he would have Samantha, the mother of his children killed, is utterly absurd! He orders her to talk to Rafael Hernandez as they rehearsed. But before she departs, he barks at her to get him Sydney's clothes she washed with bleach, so that her and any other DNA would be removed. He then heads for the pier and tosses Sydney's bloodied clothes into the river, his face still filled with rage. (the blood stains are from a nosebleed). Elvis now places a call to Samantha and declares he must speak with her. She is not interested. He insists it is important and hounds her to meet him at the mansion. - Meanwhile, anxious felonista Anna must head for the station for an official FBI interview. Harold the butler was before her. She is nervous about being recorded. Tired, unshaven Rafe notices and wonders why. She refers to previous run-ins with the law. In addition, she was once questioned in this room and also had an uncomfortable conversation with Roman earlier. Rafe replies Roman is not around. Anna puts on a brave face. Rafe drawls is anything else bothering her? She alludes to the fact that Stefano has people everywhere, though she is all for helping get Sydney back. "Whoever did this deserves to be put away forever," she finishes tensely. She claims she has no idea about anything. He asks if she has been to Cleveland lately. She pretends not to remember ... Rafe now gets a call, looks down, and rushes out of the room. - Dan gently explains to Chloe her body is merely mimicking pregnancy, as she wanted a baby so badly. She cries on his shoulder. He assures her this is not the end. She sobs. He points out there are other options. Chloe sadly states she feels foolish and now they have nothing. "We have each other and I love you and we are gonna deal with this and one day we are gonna have children," he breathes. She weakly nods. Dr. Dan is suddenly called out to an emergency. He loves her and will be back ... Dan is now shocked to find Melanie on a gurney and hear Lexie say Carly was the one who shot her! In Hope's room, Bo looks at his sleeping Fancy Face and hears the news from nurse Maxine about Melanie being shot. He gets a knowing look on his face when Maxine wonders who would want to kill the poor child. "Vivian!" he grimaces. In the hall, Carly admits to Phillip that Melanie is indeed her daughter, as everyone looks on in stunned silence. He demands to know why she shot her. She explains she was trying to save her from Vivian. Phillip rages if she does not make it, he will "save" Carly in the same way! The cop advises Phil to step back. Brady, Maggie, Arianna, and the others remain speechless. Phil continues to rage. Brady pulls him back. Chloe has come out. She is horrified and gives Phil a hug. They are all praying for him, says she. Arianna asks her to come get coffee. They exit together. Maggie cannot imagine that Carly would ever hurt Melanie. Phil retorts but she did and she will answer for it! Brady reminds him to focus on Melanie being fine, good thoughts. The female cop starts to ask Carly questions. Mayor Abe steps forward and advises the cop she cannot question the suspect without an attorney present. He then advises Carly she needs a lawyer. She laments all she needs is for her daughter to live. Bo rushes out and meets up with Carly, He asks how Vivian managed to get to Melanie. Vivian waltzes in. Carly shouts how dare she show her face there. "I will kill you!" cries Carly. Bo promises her he will make Vivian pay for shooting her daughter. Vic comes around the corner and drops a bomb. "Vivian didn't shoot Melanie, Carly did!" Bo simply cannot believe it. He stops Carly from saying more but she still blurts out that she was aiming at Vivian, to save her daughter .... Justin visits sleeping Hope in her room. She whispers "Bo, I love you ..." - At the pub, Arianna suggests Chloe not let what happened ruin her good news, that she is having a baby. Chloe sighs. Arianna is perplexed by her long face. Was Daniel not happy about the news? Chloe prepares to take coffees back to the gang at the hospital and laments she was not pregnant. Arianna consoles her with a hug. There is always a next time. Chloe is less optimistic and fears she will never be able to give Dan a baby. Never. - In the OR, Dr. Dan is hard at work to save a young life. The bullet is near the heart and it will be risky, though if they do not remove it, she will not survive more than an hour! He steels himself and asks to be handed the scalpel. All seems to proceed well, until they prepare to close up. The patient suddenly flat lines! They perform cardiac massage as Dan urges Melanie to stay with them .... - At the lodge, Nath returns to Steph, who smiles she will make herself into a fantasy and steps into the washroom to get changed. Clumsy Nath accidentally knocks over her purse and starts to pick up the contents, the wrinkled letter dangerously nearby! Steph rushes out in her red lingerie and asks what he is doing, then grabs the stuff and puts it in her bag. She pretends she is on edge cos she is nervous. Nath promises they will take it slow and they kiss, then make their way over to the bed, entwined in each other's arms. Afterwards, they lie blissfully together. - Anna is back at the cabin, playing with baby Sydney, who smiles cutely. - Sami arrives at DiMera mansion, where Elvis has on display a newly framed photograph of Sydney, They agree she is beautiful. Elvis claims he wishes to apologize. He accepts that she has decided to be with Rafe. Furthermore, she was right. What he said earlier was out of anger. She should live her life as she wishes. She thanks him. She will follow her heart. He agrees and adds so will he. He brings up entrusting Johnny's care to Rafe. Sami does not wish to discuss. He accuses her of putting blinders on and he does not want to lose Johnny like he did Sydney! Sami insists Rafe will find her. Elvis agrees to drop the whole matter if Rafe does indeed find Sydney.Sami refuses to get into a custody battle at present. Ding dong! Tis Rafe, whom Sami had texted on her way over. His eyes are filled with tears as he breaks the news of Sydney's clothes being found in the river. Once the pieces of cloth were put together, he recognized the dress. Forensics is analyzing it and will have the results shortly. EJ pretends to be naively hopeful. Perhaps there are many such dresses, Rafe has more bad news. "There was blood." Sami collapses in his arms, sobbing. Rafe hands EJ photos to ID the dress. He nods. Sami continues to sob. Elvis feigns shock. Sami cries how could someone do this! Elvis tells her many other girls have the same dress and the evidence is not conclusive. He states he has hope and faith his daughta is out there somewhere and she should have that hope and faith, too ... Next on Days of Our Lives BO Vivian will not get away with this. CARLY She already has. Dr. Dan works frantically to revive Melanie and tells her not to give up! "I don't care about who's responsible!" Sami screams at Rafe as EJ quietly watches. |
