MOTHER'S DAY

- At the pub, Brady tells Ari that EJ has texted him to meet him at the pier. Must be about Sydney so he is off. He kisses his beloved and departs. A scruffy guy walks out after him. Enter Rafe, yelling on his phone about dragging the river, budget be damned! He sighs to Ari he is sorry and updates her about Sydney's bloody dress pieces found in the river. Sister Ari's eyes are filled with tears and she says she is sorry.
Rafe, however, adds it proves nothing and she could still be alive! After all, there is no body. Maybe whoever has her knows they are getting close, hence the convenient discovery. Arianna asks if he has shared his theory with Sami. No. She is angry as she and EJ both feel that the FBI made the kidnapper panic. She has pushed him out. He senses something in this situation is not right. Ari thinks he is right to let Sami handle it her own way. He should keep doing what he thinks is right.
- Meanwhile, Elvis walks outside and gets a call from Anna. The blonde  repeats this whole thing is cruel. He reminds her he calls the shots, pays her, and if she does not listen, she will be jailed for life! He gets off the phone when Brady arrives at the pier. Back at the cabin, Anna complains to Sydney and Tony's picture that he is just like Stefano! What to do? Back at the pier. Elvis puts on his best long face for Brady. Something
has transpired and he would rather he be the one to tell Nicole. Brady
asks what exactly. "Tell her Sydney is dead," mutters EJ."Oh my God!" replies a shocked Brady. Elvis informs him Sami already knows. And Nicole should hear it from someone who gives a damn. Brady is sad and sorry. Elvis pretends he hopes the baby did not suffer. He cannot imagine how Sami will get through this.  Arianna approaches and tells EJ Rafe has told her and she is sorry. Elvis gets irate. Ari does not think it is the time for blame. "My daughta is dead because of your brotha." seethes Elvis. He now excuses himself. Brady explains people are in pain. Ari is upset that Rafe is being blamed after all he did to help. She wonders why EJ wanted to tell Brady in person. He fills her in. He wants him to be the
one to tell Nicole, to break it to her gently.Ari, however, thinks she is to blame for everything and she hopes it kills her! Brady disagrees. "Nicole did not kill that baby," he points out. Ari now loses her cool at him for defending her yet again. Brady insists she is out of their lives, though Ari feels like she is standing between them right now!
- At the police station, Victor calls godson Dr. Dan and is displeased to hear Melanie is in a coma. Where is Phillip? Dan sent him home to get some sleep.  Vic must end the call when "The Gestapo" - aka Bo - takes him into an interrogation room and announces they are gonna talk. Vic makes a wisecrack about his girlfriend. Bo retorts they are gonna talk about HIS girlfriend. Victor states he is keeping him away from Phillip.
Bo looks him in the eye and vows Vivian will pay. Hope remembered
her conversation with Vivian, as well as Victor. The Greek tycoon airily says they talked about Greek tragedies. Bo reminds him he left a receipt behind, which proves he duplicated a murder weapon and he could be called an accessory after the fact!  Or how about conspiracy? He could
be brought down cos of that joke Vivian! Victor taunts he has nothing,
as Hope was hit on the head. He alludes to the fact that the "artist" of the comb was sent to Delphi. He then warns Bo to back off, states Carly will gets what she deserves, and walks out. Enter solemn Mayor Abe, who is not pleased about Bo making this a personal vendetta. Bo is angry about being played by Victor. Abe quips he is also having father issues. "As a friend, maybe you should think about slowing down, think about what
this could do to you and your family." He advises him to tell Carly to
keep a low profile and stay away from Vivian. Bo leaves another voice message for Carly. Abe reminds him that as he posted her bail, Bo is responsible for her movements. Bo calls him a broken record. Abe calls himself the voice of reason and exits. Bo laments he hopes he did not make a mistake! He is unable to reach her and she is not answering his messages. He hopes she didn't ...
- Meanwhile, at the house of Kiriakis, Phillip rages a la Michael Corleone and tells Vivian he wants to know what happened. He holds a poker like
a sword and raises it to her face. She is going to tell him what happened! Is she scared, he wonders? She begs him to put it down. He puts it over his shoulder and drawls he might still need it. He is very angry. His father knew a secret - that someone was plotting to kill his beloved Melanie -
and chose not to tell. He exclaims she might never wake up. Vivian takes a step back, Phil advances. He grabs Viv, holds the poker to her neck,
and growls if he kills her, Victor will suffer. Would she do something like that - kill someone for revenge! Viv gasps in denial. He leers he does not believe her. She cowers. He finally gets her to admit her belief that Carly deserves to die cos of what she did to Lawrence. He rages that he loves Melanie, is about to swing, then reconsiders and drops the weapon. She
is not worth it! Vivian feebly denies having a motive for hurting Melanie. Phil accuses her of knowing Melanie was Carly's daughter. She stammers she did but she only took her to the roof to tell her that. Carly shot Mel, plus she made her suffer all her life cos she was a horrible mother!
- Outside the house, Victor has arrived. He gets a call from Daniel, who has news for Phillip. Melanie is awake. The Greek tycoon cackles to himself that means she will be able to testify against Carly! Victor enters the mansion and interrupts the Phillip/Vivian scene with the news that Melanie is awake. Phil departs after scowling at Viv when she asks him
to give his bride her love He will not, for it is toxic! "I've lost him," she quivers. Victor has a drink and tells off Vivian for her shoddy planning and disobedience. He is cutting her out! But he does have the evidence hidden away, so if she disobeys him again, she will be spending all her "golden years in an orange jumpsuit!" She claims she is not afraid of him. He snaps she should be! She points out that if he implicates her, he is exonerating Carly, which he would not want. Vic warns her not to push
it as this is not over yet! He saunters out and Vivian agrees it is certainly not!
- At the pub, Rafe is on the phone thanking FBI Tim for his help. He suggests they back off from Sami for a few days as she is not in good shape. After the call, he sadly looks at a pic of Sami and Sydney on his phone, and walks out. Meanwhile, Elvis calls Anna and tells her he will take a few more hours, and then it will soon be all over. After the call, Anna asks Sydney why can he not just admit it ... Rafe heads for Sami's place and calls out for her, knocking on the door. Much to his surprise, Elvis opens it and stares darkly at him  ...
- At the hospital, groggy Mel wakes up to crying Carly and asks what has happened. She now recalls she and Phil got married and she was happy. There was an accident. Mel panics where is Phillip! She starts to cry in pain. Carly assures her Phillip is ok but she was shot. Mel remembers.  "You shot me!" she gasps. She screams and screams for HELP! Enter
Dr, Daniel, who assures her that Carly did a lot for her and gave her blood. Mel wonders why. Dan suggests she ask her. He confers out in
the hall with Carly for a moment and tells her her daughter's vitals are remarkable. Mel wants to see her. Carly is nervous. Dan tells her to keep her chin up and so she goes inside. Melanie glares at her. "Why did you shoot me!" Carly explains Vivian wanted to beat her with a steel rod, which was why she fired the shot at her. Then Mel jumped in front of her, to protect her. It wasn't about her, however. It was about Carly.
Mel is confused. Carly goes on. Vivian wanted to avenge what happened to Lawrence. Mel cries what has that to do with her? Why would hurting her affect Carly? Carly quietly says they have met before, a very long time ago. Out in the hall, Phil has just arrived, anxious to see his bride. Dan prevents him from going in, stating he has some things to go over with him. Phil remarks he is stalling him and wonders why. Inside, Mel does not remember meeting Carly at all and exclaims she wants to know what she means. Carly weeps she just held her for a moment and it was
the most wonderful moment of her life. Mel does not understand. "I was holding my daughter," cries Carly. "Melanie, I'm your mother!" Their
eyes lock as mother and daughter for the first time ....
