| Wednesday, February 24, 2010 All rights reserved. Link Only EDGE OF DARKNESS - Replay of Phillip summoning Carly on the telephone. Melanie has requested her presence. She eagerly says she will be right there. Bo is against it, as her bail could be revoked. She wants to do it alone. He decides he wants to go with ... - In Mel's room, Phil lovingly kisses his bride, who has fallen asleep. She dreams of the shooting and wakes up with a gasp. Phil reconsiders. She is not ready to see Carly. Mel looks at him like a lost kitten and asks him to please let her. Bo and Carly soon arrive. Phil refuses to leave Carly alone with Mel. Bo waits outside. Phil does not approve of the situation. Carly sits next to the Salem patient and whispers "It's me, your mother." Groggy Mel tells her never to call herself that again! She has never been a mother to her. However, she wants answers about how she came into the world. "I want to know who I am," she says weakly. She asks Phillip to give her privacy with Carly. After she gets her answers, she explains, she will never have to look at her again! - Hope is back at the the station. Detective Hope Brady gets a call about Sydney. She cannot comment but .... "What ...?!" She is horrified! - In the hospital hall, Hope finds Bo and tells him the sad news about Sydney. She remembers what they went thru with Ciara. It could have ended as tragically, if not for the grace of God. They hug. Hope wonders if the three of them could have dinner tonight. Bo replies he wishes he could. He must remain there. Hope realizes he is waiting for Carly, who is in Melanie's room. Her demeanor changes. He is helping Carly break the law. She quips he would sacrifice everything for that one and accuses him of playing her hero since she returned to Salem, at the expense of everyone else. "I hope to hell she's worth it," she says bitterly and storms off. Phil has sauntered out and Bo asks how he is. He admits he is mad at Carly, Vivian - and Bo! He blasts him for not letting them know Carly was Melanie's mother. From now on, he will make sure nothing happens to his beloved wife! - Inside, Carly states she thought her baby would be alright with Trent. Mel cries she was wrong and her life was a living hell because of it! Carly brings up Lawrence. Melanie accuses her of having a sleazy affair with her father. Carly tells the tragic tale of how abusive Lawrence forced her to give her baby away. Mel wonders how she is certain she is her mother. Carly points out they are both AB negative blood type, which is very rare. And there is something else ... She recalls that the one time Lawrence let her hold her baby, she noticed her sweet little girl had a birthmark. The flashback shows how she cried as Lawrence took her away. She knew she would always recognize her by the birthmark, which Melanie also has. "Oh my God," cries Mel. Carly continues. She killed Lawrence as he had threatened to kill her. Mel now laments a man is dead all because of her. She is a curse! Her mother is a psychopath and her father Trent is .... "No," Carly blurts out. "It's not Trent! He's not your father, not your biological father!" Melanie stops crying. "Who is?" - At the cabin, ditsy Anna does not approve when EJ orders her to pack Sydney's things, as he and his two kids are leaving for good. He will tell Samantha he is taking a break with Johnny, cos he is stressed. He will then come back for Sydney and the three of them will leave for their permanent vacation! Anna feels for poor Sami. She will miss Sydney and holds her tightly. Elvis wonders where her maternal instincts were with Carrie. She explains she knew she would be better off without her, then goes on to defend Sami as a caring mother. Elvis is not interested. He will not have his children torn between two families."They are DiMeras, that's it. DiMeras thru and thru!" He will be back soon. Once he is gone, Anna confides in sleepy Sydney that she has a sinking feeling EJ's big plan will blow up in his face! - At DiMera mansion, Stefano has just received a devastating phone call and Kate finds the powerful phoenix overcome. She deduces it concerns Sydney. He updates her on the bloody dress found in the Salem river. According to the FBI, she is dead. Stefano covers his face with his hands and weeps for his precious Sydney. Kate sadly tries to console him. He recalls he did all he could to help with the search, even with his bastard son pushing him away. But he always felt in his heart she would come back. "My God," he cries. "How could this happen? How could I be so wrrrrong!" Kate does not think he should blame himself. He sighs he had everything planned perfectly. He was going to see to it that Elvis raised his child, in spite of Samantha's deception. He does not know who the woman was who took Sydney, but he will make it his life's work to find the monster responsible. He raises his eyes to the heavens. "I swear to it! I swear to it!" Elvis soon enters and Stefano calls him a swine. Why did he let him hear the news from an outsider. Elvis coldly replies he IS an outsider. Furthermore, he is taking Johnny. The phoenix rages at him in Italian. Elvis cares not and calmly repeats he is taking Johnny away from this place of bad vibrations. Kate asks if Sami is fine with that. Yes. Kate suggests Sami would need her son at this difficult time. EJ points out she still has the other children and exits. Kate the mother feels sorry for Sami. Stefano appears distracted. "He is nervous, edgy .... There is something else. I call tell, the look in his eyes ... something is amiss!" - Hope makes for the Kiriakis mansion, where she demands Victor tell her the truth. She knows he switched the comb of the toxic tiara. What does he know about Vivian? The Greek tycoon pours himself a drink and coolly suggests she focus on her true enemy - one Carly Manning. Hope walks around and replies she can back Carly up, cos she was in that basement. Victor points out that would keep Carly out of jail and in Bo's bed, whereas if she stops hounding Vivian, Carly will be out of the picture and out of Bo's life! Hope is not interested in such a suggestion. Victor reminds her she is alone, in that case ... - Replay of Rafe crying as Sami finds him in his office. He tries to cover up. "Rafe," says she, approaching the sensitive macho man. She notes she should have known that he too would grieve and was just trying to be strong for her. He is silent. Sami is sorry for what she said, she was just upset and wanted him to hold her. He laments he broke his promise to Sydney, and he let Sami down.She will not have him taking all the blame. They all had a part in what happened. Besides, guilt, regret, questioning will not bring her back. Now she just wants Rafe. He promises he is there as long as she wants him. "That'll be forever,"says Sami as they embrace. He wonders if she will be able to look at him without thinking of what has happened. She assures him that she loves him "and that is what matters most." They kiss on it. He wants her to know he will not stop looking for Sydney's kidnapper. She wants justice, too. He gets his jacket and they go home together. - Back at the hospital, Bo informs Phillip he is having an officer posted at his wife's door. Phil dismisses the notion that Vivian Alamain is the worst of his worries. Furthermore, he is not in the least bit interested in giving the commissioner a statement to defend Carly. He was not there when Mel was shot and for that matter, neither was Bo! He accuses big bro Bo of using him to help the woman he is sleeping with! Phil is disgusted his loyalties are with Carly. Why is he so blind? Along comes Hope,who says it is because he is in love with her! - At DiMera mansion, Stefano gets an unexpected call from Victor, who insists he must see him. Stefano reluctantly agrees, then sits down at his desk, and suggests his darling wife make herself scarce, as her ex is on his way over, He knows not what he wants, but they will soon find out ... - Back home, in Sami's red bedroom, Rafe tucks her in. She wants him to stay with her. He gets under the covers. They snuggle. Much later, Elvis knocks on the door. "Samantha?" No answer. He gets the key and lets himself in, looking around, and soon comes across Rafe and Samantha, sleeping half nekid together in each other's arms! He stares darkly ... Next on Days of Our Lives VICTOR Death to whoever did this. STEFANO Death. "Carly, leave me alone!" exclaims Mel. "Melanie Layton Kiriakis will die tonight," Vivian says, as Gus listens behind her. |
