However, Rafe and Uncle Bo are saying this is the end of the line. They are waiting for a miracle. Will nods. - At the cabin, Elvis tells Syd he knows what to do, thanks to Anna.Time for a change of plans. Ring ring! Tis Rafe, inviting him for Sami to the family gathering in which she will tell the twins Sydney is not coming home. Elvis quietly thinks that sounds purrrrfect! He then pretends he is not keen to attend, though he wants to choose the venue. At the pier. After the call, EJ excitedly summons Anna. They have work to do now! Anna gets to work and warns he could get caught. He impatiently tells her to hurry up. He is in a hurry and tells her it will help him break up Samantha and Rafe, so he dismisses her suggestion they need time to remove all the traces ... - Rafe is still outside DiMera mansion, Along comes Kate. Stefano opens the door and drawls why is he still there. Rafe claims he wants the same as the phoenix - to know why EJ is not upset! Stefano gets rid of him and ushers Kate inside, declaring Elvis is up to something! When Elvis later arrives, Stefano starts to warn him about Hernandez. Elvis gets sarcastic and states he is not interested. He would rather have Hernandez or Phillip Kiriakis, who killed Tony, standing next to him at the Sydney gathering. "You're dead to me me!" he seethes. Kate now brings Johnny downstairs. Once they have left, Stefano drawls to Kate he will never warn him about Hernandez after all. The heir apparent has spit in his face for the very last time. "Let Mr. FBI take Elvis down. It will serve him right!" - Rafe heads to Sami's place and she is curious about what happened with EJ. Rafe sighs he does not get why that bastard gets to pick the location. He suspects he really wants to rub his nose in the fact that the ransom was a bust at the pier. Sami assures him he is not to blame and they hug. - Handsome Phil runs into Victor at the pub and gets sarcastic when the Greek tycoon asks after Melanie. She has been through so much! Victor tells him that Bo is not her father. Phil quips that is a relief. Victor says that he knows not who the man is. Phillip accuses him of being in on the whole scheme with Vivian, but Victor claims the real enemy here is Carly Manning and she should be the target of any punishment! - Down at the pier, Carly reminds doubtful Dan that they were "together" at that medical conference. He remembers. That was the first time they met, they drank too much, and as he points out, she never told him she was married until morning. Then they agreed to be friends and she later introduced him to Rebecca. Dan drawls she was pregnant by then. Carly replies she only knew she was pregnant when he was already planning his wedding. They were in different places. And she did not expect to see him in Salem now. He gets mad when he hears she did not tell Melanie he was her father. She should have told him he had a daughter. They ran into each other at conferences, had medical discussions on the phone, and she never even hinted ... Carly tells him Lawrence kept her isolated. Dan exclaims but they were friends! He confesses he does not remember too much about the time they were together, though he is clearly hurt she kept this from him. He goes on to lament she gave his baby away. Carly admits she could have told him, but later on, she believes, Lawrence would have had him killed. That is something his family does! Dan is still mad. Carly explains that Lawrence beat her, made her gives the baby away, and now Vivian poses a danger. Dan is not sure what to say but he will never let Vivian hurt either Mel or her. Carly cries their child hates her. Does he hate her too? Is there some way he can forgive her? Dan cannot answer that, declares nothing is the same, and solemnly departs to check on his daughter. - Vivian is in Mel's room, slowly suffocating the sleeping bride with a pillow over her face. Mel wakes up, though she is delirious. She looks up at Madame and slurs she should just kill her, as Carly said. Vivian looks at her in surprise. Mel cries she knows she has to kill her because of Lawrence. Vivian weeps that Mel understands. "Oh God, you are such a sweet, cheerful girl." Mel cries she is not sure of anything anymore, "so if you kill me, everything will be better!" Vivian looks up to the heavens, tears streaming down her face. Lawrence was a jewel. Mel laments about her sad life. Her gambling pop used to offer her services to pay his debts. Vivian is upset to hear it. Mel adds she lied and stole, like he taught her. And then she got married, which was also wrong, and Carly came along! She sobs Carly is to blame. She threw her away and will not even tell her who her father is! Viv touches her face and calms her. Mel states today would be a good day to die and falls back asleep. Madame Viv observes her with deep regret as she trembles. "Melanie, Melanie," she whispers. - Bo is at the station with Hope. The cops have picked up Gus, and Bo wants her to ID him in a lineup. Detective Hope does not want to rely on her memory only. Bo gets it and grins. "There are other ways!" They join Gus in an interrogation room and play hard ball. Hope lies that she saw EVERYTHING he did in the basement. Bo has a suggestion. Either give them Viv or go to jail! They want to know about the last time he saw Vivian. Gus replies she was getting her gloves ... The mood turns intense. Where? Gus stops and demands a lawyer. Bo realizes Vivian was up to no good, hence the gloves. He hastily calls the officer on duty at Mel's door, then he and Hope are on their way! - Vivian decides Melanie has suffered enough in her short life and hugs her. Enter Phillip and the cop who was stationed outside the door. Phillip glares at Vivian. She turns and looks at him. Later, Bo and Hope rush in as Phillip demands to know what Vivian did. She claims innocence. A doctor checks out Melanie and informs them nothing has changed, she is stable. Melanie slowly opens her eyes. Bo asks if Vivian hurt her. Mel groggily replies she thinks she had a dream about Vivian, maybe it was Vivian. She wishes to go back to sleep. Before Vivian leaves, she tells a perplexed Phillip that Melanie is a wonderful girl, a beautiful bride - and reminds Bo that Carly was the one who shot her. Bo now lectures the cop for his blunder and discusses with Hope. This was too close a call. Ring ring! Tis Carly, outside the pub. He agrees to meet her in a few minutes. Hope gives him a displeased look. Once he has ended the call, she asks if it was Carly. Indeed. Bo explains he should fill her in on what happened and walks away. - Vivian is outside the Kiriakis mansion, about to enter, when she is confronted by an angry apparition of Lawrence. She tells him they must accept that Melanie is an innocent girl. He insists she must finish the job. She tells him goodbye. Much to her relief, Lawrence dissipates into thin air. Vivian goes inside. Victor teases her for the supposedly long walk. She anxiously pours herself a drink. Her walk was enlightening. She has had a sudden realization. He is right, Melanie is an innocent child and she does not wish Phillip to suffer. Luckily she did not succeed. But at least Carly will be in prison, haunted by the fact that her daughter hates her! - Carly meets Bo outside the pub and woefully tells him how badly things went. She thinks she has lost pal Dan and daughter Melanie forever ... - Meanwhile, Dan slowly enters Melanie's room and looks at his sleeping daughter as her father for the very first time. - Down at the snowy pier, Rafe, Sami, Will, and Ally await. Elvis arrives holding Johnny and says they cannot start! He wants Rafe to take the kids to the car so he can speak with Sami. Reluctant Rafe points out Sami will repeat whatever EJ says - to him later. He and the kids head for the car. Sami wants to know what is going on. Elvis mutters he is not sure he is ready for this gathering. Sami reminds him the kids need answers. He thinks it can wait. She insists. He leads her to believe he is preoccupied and starts to leave to get Johnny. She stops him and demands he tell her what is going on! He suggests she keep her voice down. "I got another letter, a ransom note." He pulls out the note and hands it to her, adding he thinks Sydney is alive. Sami gasps ...!. Next on Days of Our Lives "Can I say something to you?" Dan gently asks Mel. "The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that EJ is up to something," Rafe tells Ari. Sami faces EJ. "He deserves to know the truth!" |
