Kate is upset about being hounded by the international media on her phone. Chad hopes it is not true about the kidnapping. Lexie walks in and hopes the same thing. She wants to hear it from Stefano! Kate explains he is sleeping. Suspicious Lexie still wants answers. Kate insists the police picked up a conman who was passing himself off as Rafe, there is nothing more. Lexie wonders what if he implicates EJ and Stefano when he sings to the police. Kate retorts she will expect all the family to stand by Stefano no matter what. She walks off. Chad realizes Lexie thinks his father and EJ did it. She does and prays that this time they will get caught! - At Nicole's room, she tries to get rid of EJ, who is desperate to speak with Tay. Tay turns around. Nicole tries to close the door on him. EJ pushes his way in and emotionally declares to Taylor he loves her and wishes he had met her first. He believes that a part of her still loves him. Tay thinks what he did speaks louder than anything he is now saying. Nicole steps in and tells him to give up. Her sister sees him for what he really is. She gets mad that he is still trying to get through to her. Nicole accuses him of being responsible for their mother's death. EJ insists he would have done anything in his power to protect her had he known. He is very sorry for any way he might have hurt the sisters. Nicole snaps his hell is just beginning, and she is looking forward to it. EJ laments he is already suffering, for he has lost his children, Samantha wants to get a restraining order so he cannot go near them, the police are working round the clock to put himself and his fatha in prison, and he has lost the only woman he loves. He woefully turns to leave. Taylor stops him. - Abe joins Bo and Roman at the busy station, lamenting the D.A. gave him an earful about convicted Hope being on the case. She needs to be taken off it pronto! Bo will not do it. Mayor Abe warns this could cost him his position as commissioner. Bo is willing to take the chance ... - Meanwhile, Hope will not let up at the imposter's cell and assures him he will soon tell her about his connection to EJ. He talks back and she notes he hates women. She points out being in prison is like a death sentence, cos the DiMera clan will know how to get to him if they even suspect he got out of the death penalty by giving them up. The imposter drawls he is screwed either way. Not exactly, says Hope. There could be another way. The Feds have offered to give him witness protection if he gives them EJ and Stefano. The imposter becomes interested. What do they want? Everything they said and also details about his payment so they can follow the money trail. Before he can answer, Roman saunters in and announces he is taking over. He is soon in his cell, explaining Hope was only temporarily reinstated and this was her last day. The imposter is reluctant to talk to Commander Roman. He knows he must hate him for sleeping with his daughter. But Roman is all business. He recounts what his original statement to Bo and Hope was concerning his impersonation of a police officer and the deal with the DiMeras. The imposter denies it. Roman coolly adds their talented tech guy restored the digital filmed confession. He will see him in court! The imposter suddenly talks witness protection. Roman repeats Hope was temporary and now he has to deal with him! - Meanwhile, Hope is back with Abe and Bo at the station. Bo hopes tough Roman will make the imposter ask for Hope again, so the D.A. will have to let her back on the case. - At the pub, Maggie asks about Sonny. Adrienne and Justin chuckle as she recalls what a busy kid he was. Justin remembers his newspaper. The redhead predicts Victor will want him at Titan. Adrienne is not so sure. Justin reminds his wife that their son came to town so that people would know. Know what, wonders Maggie. She is soon aware that Sonny is gay and asks how his parents learned. They had feared his secret was that he had gotten a girl pregnant or worse, and were relieved. However, things got uncomfortable, so they went to a support group and things got better. Maggie wonders how long he knew. Justin explains he has always known. Maggie asks if Victor is aware of this. Justin informs her Sonny is telling him right now. Maggie gets tense. - At the mansion, Victor assumes Sonny is pulling his leg about being gay. He cackles Brady must have put him up to it! Sonny patiently explains he said he is gay because he is. This is how he has been his entire life. He is as gay as pink ink. Victor asks if it is a phase he is going through. No. He told his parents about it years ago and they got support with PFLAG. He is glad to have told his great uncle. Vic will not fight him on this, though he declares he feels sorry for him … - Back at the station, Roman has an update for anxious Bo and Hope. The imposter bought his lie about the recording of his full confession being restored. He is now asking for Hope, so the plan is a go and he is all hers ...! - Tay tells Nicole she wishes to speak to EJ alone. Nicole advises her not to forget what he did to their mother and goes into the other room. Tay now wants to know why EJ lied to her. He softly states that he never lied about loving her.
