TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS!

PART 1

- The imposter is dead in his cell. "No!" laments Commissioner Bo. He demands to know what happened. The cons shrug their shoulders. They claim he fell. Hope snaps there were bruises on the back of his neck. The killer con gets sarcastic and claims he has no opinion. Bo warns he will soon, after the coroner has investigated the cause of death!
- Down at the pier, Viv smugly tells Gus that the fair Jennifer has the
hots for dashing Dr. Dan. He calls him a lucky man. Vivian purrs drug addict Carly could become even more sorrowful. And so Viv and her flunky hatch a new plan - Jen and Dan alone in the same room as soon
as possible!
- At the hospital, Carly is almost done her shift. Dan hopes they are still on for dinner. They are. Carly is elated. Dan drawls he will see her later and departs. Carly happily tells Lexie she has to go get changed for dinner with Dan at the Sapphire Club tonight. Gus watches from around the corner and calls Madame Viv with an update.
- Jen sits at the Cheatin heart trying to work, flashing back to her brief relationship with Daniel, then drops her papers. Enter Abigail. She is concerned and asks whether her mother is alright.  Flustered Jen gets her papers together and insists she is fine. Chad approaches. Jen says it is good to see him, assures her daughter she is fine, and hastily exits. Outside the bar, she gets a call from Viv, who pretends to be an assistant of a rich Warner Buffet who wishes to make a seven figure donation to the hospital. She must meet him at the Sapphire Club in fifteen minutes. Jen hesitates, then agrees.
- At the loft, Rafe sits with Johnny's head on his lap. He finishes reading the tyke a story. Sami thinks her boy should go to bed, but Johnny has something on his mind. He is worried and states he has been experiencing nightmares. Sami reassures him. The bad things are over and done with.
- At the police station, Tay argues the man who killed her mother should not be set free. Bo, Hope, Abe, and Roman face the DiMeras. Bo drawls the imposter already signed a confession implicating the DiMera boys. EJ and Stefano frown. Hope grins it is game over! Stefano doubts it. The D.A. suddenly storms in and rages about their only witness being dead. Bo summons him to his office. Stefano muses they can no longer detain them. Lawyer EJ loudly protests about the police having no just cause to detain them. Abe now takes Tay aside and informs her that her mother's murderer is dead. Tay thinks someone should tell Sami.
- Back at the loft, Sami and Rafe snuggle on the sofa, happy that the dastardly DiMeras will be put away for a very long time. Mayor Abe
calls Rafe with bad news. Sami gets upset and thinks it is over, as the
now dead imposter was their last chance. Rafe, however, thinks he was not their only chance and decides to head to the station. Upset Sami
wants to come with.
- Sami and Rafe show up at the station. EJ gets sarcastic as he and Stefano sit handcuffed. Rafe goes to see Bo. Sami yells they will not get away with it. Abe tries to calm her down. Tay watches. Bo and Hope emerge with Rafe and the D.A. Roman is still present. Sami snaps surely they will not let those DiMeras get away with this! The commissioner explains whoever is responsible for their witness' death will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. "Happy hunting!" smirks EJ. The phoenix and Elvis are all smiles as their cuffs are removed and they are escorted elsewhere, to be formally released. The D.A. grumbles Bo blew it and storms out. Sami yells it cannot be over over to sheepish Bo, Hope, and Roman, who have no answers.
- At the hospital, Carly excitedly emerges wearing a little black dress. Lexie compliments her and asks about the nature of her date with Dan. She recalls how she once told her she had feelings for him ... Carly states that is no longer the case. Lexie hopes she will have a good time and gets back to work. Nurse Maxine approaches Carly to help her with a French patient before she leaves. The doctor on duty is not around. Dr. Carly impatiently agrees and enters the room, only to find Monsieur Gus, who
is feigning stomach pain. Carly puts pressure on his stomach, recalling how he held her prisoner and snaps about his being Vivian's flunky. She promises she will be back momentarily and exits the room. Gus spies Carly's purse and removes her phone. He proceeds to send a text in her name, as per the plan ...
- Jen arrives at the Sapphire Club, where the mysterious Mr. Buffet has arranged for them to have a private room. Much to her surprise, dapper Dan joins her ...
- Back at the Cheatin Heart, the D.A. comes across Abigail and Chad.
He is in a foul mood and bitterly informs his once son that his new family thugs have been released. Chad introduces the D.A. as the man who was his father until he found his real father. The D.A. accuses him of wanting only the DiMera money and power. Chad stands up to him and drawls he chose to be a DiMera because he his real father gave a damn, unlike him!
- At the Sapphire Club, Dan and Jen uncomfortably explain to each other why they are there. Dan starts to say he misses Jen, then gets a text from Carly that she will not be able to make it. Jen starts to leave until the waiter updates her that Mr. Buffet could not make it either. Dan grins
it appears to be just the two of them. Jen gives him a dreamy look.
- Outside, Tay sees EJ. She hopes he will not fight Sami for the children. He thinks that is not her concern and wonders why she came there. Was it to stop the imposter from getting a deal, which would have set him
free? He adds he is paying dearly for what he did and wonders if it is too much to hope she could forgive him. She laments she will not be able to look at him the same way or forgive him and walks off. EJ, however, seems to have something up his sleeve ...
- Inside the station, Sami is a nervous wreck about EJ having a chance with the kids. Rafe patiently promises her he will make this right and asks her to go home. Sami humors him, but then decides there is something she must do first. She departs to take care of business ...
