He hopes it will end soon and thanks his buddy for hanging in there. Nicole hides behind a crate and wonders what the psycho is up to. She makes a noise. He hears, turns around, and ends the call. Nicole holds her breath until he walks off and continues to creep after him ... - At the mansion, Stefano is seated with Johnny at his chess table, asking him if anyone else was around besides Rafael when he last saw him. Johnny snaps no. EJ has heard and would like to know what the phoenix is up to. Stefano warns Johnny to never let Rafael pick him up again. Stranger danger! Johnny argues that Rafe is no stranger. - At the loft, replay of Sami agreeing to go along, though she is worried. She calls EJ at the mansion and asks to speak to Johnny. She tells the tyke not to tell anyone the important thing she is about to tell him. Johnny listens. Stefano grumbles to Elvis their imposter has gone too far. It must end tonight! EJ now gets a call on his cell from Tay, who is in a bathrobe and wishes to see him right away. EJ asks the phoenix to watch Johnny for him. Stefano will call him as soon as their Rafe is taken care of. EJ departs. Still on the phone, Sami asks Johnny if Nicole or Taylor happen to be at the mansion. No. - At the club, Quinn is getting off the phone when Kate sweeps in and accuses him of ripping her off. He dangles he was about to give her something, but if she wants to sever ties ... Kate takes the bait. Quinn drawls Chloe will have to perform again - or face the music! - At the pub, Justin and Sonny have returned from a friendly game of one on one. They tell Chloe hello. She is grateful for the last visit Justin arranged with Parker and smiles at the photograph she has been admiring of that time. When can she have the next visit? Justin replies they actually need to talk. He takes a seat and explains the social worker is ready for the next step of the evaluation. Chloe will do anything. Justin reminds her she is living in a hotel and teaching voice a few times a week. She needs to prove stability with a steady income and a place of her own. Chloe blinks. She intends to get an apartment. Justin suggests the guest house at Victor's. She would rather die. Justin wonders if her parents can help out. Chloe declares she wishes to do this on her own, thanks him, and departs. As she walks out into the night, Quinn awaits. He has another job for her and the client must be satisfied or else! In addition, he knows Justin is her lawyer, not her agent. One more lie like that from her and it's game over! - Tay awaits EJ in a negligee. He sits on her bed. They kiss. She notices he is quietly distracted. He admits he was worried she was in some kind of trouble. She softens him up and they kiss again. They snuggle under the satin sheets in the aftermath and smile all about their happy future, blissfully unaware that the fates are already against them ... - Sami asks Johnny if she can talk to EJ again. The tyke replies daddy left. She asks to speak with Stefano and explains Sydney misses Johnny. Stefano refuses to let her have him, drawls it is his bedtime, and bids her goodnight. - Still at the loft, Sami complains to Bo and Hope they now have a big problem! What if Johnny gets caught in the crossfire? Hope points out the DiMeras would not let anything happen to Johnny. Bo adds they cannot afford to wait another minute or it might be too late! Sami asks why they wanted to know if Tay was there. She is shocked to hear that Tay is engaged to the man who is responsible for her mother's death - and does not even know of EJ's complicity. - At the warehouse, Rafe returns to the imprisoned imposter and FBI Tim, who was watching him. Rafe promises his pal it will be over in a few hours. Nicole plops down outside the door and starts to drink from a bottle. She intends to find out what Rafe is hiding. She hears the door open and hastily hides. Exit Tim. She thinks he looks mighty familiar. Meanwhile, in the holding room, Rafe removes the imposter's gag and wants him to talk. He sits down and offers to give him one last chance to say what the DiMeras did on record. He will keep him off death row. The imposter smirks he would rather take his chances and snickers when Rafe warns him he will be seeing the DiMeras in hell. - Back at the mansion, Stefano has just finished reading Giovanni a story and likens the mistake the prince made to EJ's mistakes that he always has to fix! Later, Johnny is in bed and EJ comes back with his smiling fiancée. Stefano greets her and claims he was hoping they could have a friendly chat. He congratulates her on her engagement to his son. Tay gets sarcastic. Stefano notes her sarcasm and chuckles he now knows why they get along. EJ accuses him of not being up front, as he loathes sarcasm. He insists Taylor is the most honorable person to set foot in the house and demands she be treated with respect. Stefano asks her to make allowances for him, as he was just trying to make small talk. Tay retorts they are okay. Stefano states his son has picked a winner and welcomes her to the family. - At the warehouse, Nicole watches Rafe casually walk out. She comes to her feet, determined to find out what the homicidal maniac's secret is. She gingerly picks the lock of the door and opens it, only to come face to face with a bound and gagged Rafe.
