Chloe sighs she is not playing games. "Your father is my life." Chloe points out she is drugged up, in pain, and she almost died. Mel is still suspicious. Chloe insists she loves Daniel. Does not Mel remember what it feels like to want to spend the rest of your life with the one you love? She was conflicted with Nathan, and is she not happy now? Mel uncertainly replies she is. She brings up the strangeness of Chloe and Phil having dated. Chloe assures her she is better for Phil. And she is glad Mel and Dan found each other. She points out she had the foster parents from hell, so she would never stand in the way of Mel and papa Dan having a relationship. Mel becomes sympathetic and appreciative. She hands Chloe the necklace Daniel gave her, from his mother, to wear. It will be the something old, new, borrowed and blue. Chloe appreciates her support. Mel grins but if she hurts Dan, she will crush her. In the hall, Dan talks on his phone, thanking the justice of the peace. Maxine comments she was not invited? To the later church wedding yes, but not this low key one. Maxine wonders if the doc fears for her health, hence the quicky wedding. Dan drawls this is what Chloe needs,that is all. - At Horton house, Jennifer is working on a scrapbook. Laura thinks it is a lovely idea. Jen just hopes she can finish in time for Alice to enjoy. She is not ready to say goodbye, the fair Jennifer cries. Laura reassures her. Later in the living room, Jen has gotten off the phone with Mike, who has been delayed by 2 hours. When his plane lands, he will be renting a car. Jen recalls how Alice recently spoke to her about her love that they all feel from her. "More than you know," Alice had whispered. Jennifer will cherish the memory forever. Bill, Marie, and Laura are much moved. The gang end up in the kitchen, getting ready to make Alice's donuts. Will soon arrives. The family recall how proud Alice was of all their adventurous lives. Bill regrets he had not lived closer. Jennifer assures him she had a full life. Bill agrees she did, even after the stroke. And now she has many flowers in her room, including the red roses which just bloomed, the precious ones from her Jennifer Rose. Flashback of Mike giving happy Alice a bouquet of flowers, when there was no occasion. The Hortons remember and blink back their tears. - Replay of Kate at DiMera mansion and she cannot believe the paper that she found in Madeline's things! Stefano cannot know about this, can he? Meanwhile, Stefano promises Maddie the rest of her items back, unread, untouched. He is not interested in her family papers. She should go home and wait for a special delivery. Exit Maddie. Back at the mansion, Kate puts the paper back in the envelope, seals it, and whispers what is she going to do with this! Stefano comes home and informs Kate that the problem of Madeline has been resolved. Time to pack up her belongings and send them to her. Kate wonders if he really wants to do that. He asks if the tape was the only thing incriminating them. Kate avoids his gaze and says yes. He replies there is no point in keeping Madeline's things. He pauses and wonders what is wrong. Kate pretends she was simply affected by what they saw and takes off. - Caroline hugs daughter Kayla at the pub. They talk. Kayla hopes the next time she comes home it will be for a happier occasion. Nervous Nath turns around. Steph steps in and smiles she must have been referring to a birthday or anniversary! Steph, Caroline, and Kayla later sit together and discuss Alice, who knew life was all about family ... - Lucas and Phil walk outside and Phil hopes he can stick around. Lucas apologizes for being a downer at his wedding. He adds things seem to be going great for his bro now. Phil flashes back to talking to Chloe about their fling. He nods to Lucas that everything is terrific. Lucas quips Chloe and Dan will never tie the knot cos she is a cheater, he should know! Phil now realizes he has a message and Dan and Chloe are getting married! Lucas looks dubious. - Chad and Mia enter Maggie's kitchen. She is on her way with Melissa and mentions the house rules. Chad and Mia sit at the table. She asks if he has decided about Wake Forest. Chad grins he is attending Salem U so he can be near her. Mia eagerly says he has made her so happy and leans forward. The teens kiss like boyfriend and girlfriend. - Madeline later meets up with Chad at the pier and he informs her he has decided to stay in Salem, to attend Salem U, and there is nothing she can do about it! "Fine," says she. No point in having the same argument again. She admits it would have been tough having him far away ... - Unbeknownst to Chad, Madeline pays an impromptu visit to Mia at Maggie's, declaring they need to talk about the present and the future! - Chez Alice, Bill and Maggie are alone in the living room. Everyone has their turn to see Alice. Bill tells her Alice loves her as if she were her daughter.They are all family. Now and forever. In the kitchen, Melissa and Jen have fun going over the old photos. They recall how Tom and also Alice had a way with words. Flashback of teen Jennifer as Alice tells her the true meaning of friendship. Gran always knew the right thing to say. Melissa states she passed that gift on to Jen and Jen alludes to the fact that Melissa has it, too! Meanwhile, Lucas talks to son Will about his living arrangements. He is certain Alice would want him to leave DiMera mansion in the dust! Nath has tea in the kitchen with Bill, and tells him Alice had given him Tom's medical bag. Bill thinks that was a great idea. Flashback to Alice giving Mike the watch that belonged to Tom. Mike is en route from Boston, as they speak. Jen enters and hopes he will be there soon. It will mean much to gran. - Back at DiMera mansion, Stefano quietly sips a brandy by his chess set. Enter Will, there to pick up cd's for Alice. Stefano is sorry about her condition and praises Will. The teen wonders if he should move out, as she evidently hates him living there. The phoenix faces the lad and admits Alice is a wise woman, but she no longer knows him, the way Will does. He reminds him they have broken bread together. He is no longer the man people whispered about. He dramatically takes his head in his hands and asks Will to believe in him. - Kate and Lucas meet outside the pub, where the Hortons have gathered for dinner. Lucas wonders if she would like to join them. No, because of Laura. She watches through the window and wistfully remarks they are quite a family. Lucas agrees. Inside, Jen announces the scrapbook is done and thanks Ally for her help. Ring ring! Mike has landed safely. Jen hopes gran will hold on ... - Phil arrives at the hospital, kisses Mel, and congratulates Daniel, who wonders where Mel's necklace is. He is touched she lent it to Chloe for the service. As they embrace, Phil slips into Chloe's room and wants to know what is going on. Chloe informs him the justice of the peace will be marrying them tonight. The justice of the peace now enters with Dan and Mel. Dan wants to make sure this is what Chloe wants. Her baby blues are filled with worry as she replies yes. Does he not want to marry her? Yes, but he senses this is not how she wanted it. Chloe asks the gang to leave and they do. Chloe insists this is what she wants, though she only wants Dan to marry her if this is what he wants too. "I love you with my whole heart," breathes the doc and they kiss on it. Out in the hall, Mel asks Phil if he thinks the wedding will be a go. And does he have any idea why Chloe is acting so strangely about it? Dan pops his head out of the bride's room and announces they are all set! The wedding gets underway. Out in the hall, Carly, out of surgery, is dismayed to learn of it and sighs Chloe lied to her. The wedding continues. All of a sudden, Maxine enters the room, as the justice of the peace has an urgent call. He steps out to take the call for a moment, despite Chloe's feeble protests. Dan assures his anxious bride that in five minutes, they will no doubt be man and wife. Enter Carly. Phil drawls it is deja vu all over again. Carly stares at Chloe and states this time she intends to say what she came to say ...! Next on Days of Our Lives Sami looks at the visitor. "Carrie." Carrie smiles cordially. "Sami." "Nicole's behind this and I'm definitely going to prove it!" EJ promises Arianna. "Ari and I are through," Brady glumly tells Nicole. |
