She is not pregnant. Nath throws himself back and grins it is a great morning. Steph readily agrees and they kiss. - Sad, bejeweled Julie enters Maggie's kitchen and they discuss Alice. There has been no change in her ailing state. Enter Hope, who wonders what is wrong with her gran. They cry that she has not been the same since son Mickey died. Julie embraces Hope tightly and sighs the sweet grandmother is slipping away. The gals console each other and recall how Alice always helped people solve their problems on their own ... Maggie flashes back to Alice encouraging her with Mickey. Back to reality. They are lucky to have her in their family. Maggie now calls Nath with a sad update on Alice. She seems to have given up. Perhaps Nath, one of her favs, should go see her. If she does not respond to him, then they will know the time is nearing. Nath agrees and stares woefully at Tom's medical bag in his room. - Back at Maggie's, Hope unhappily realizes she must tell Bo and departs. Julie laments she is apart from Bo. But she still loves him! Maggie adds she always will ... Julie later gets off the phone with Alice's oldest college friend, the one who used to send the terrible fruitcakes at Christmas. Julie muses she never thought of Alice as her grandmother, she was more like a mother to her. Flashback to a young Julie with old fashioned hairstyle, thanking a young Alice for loving her. Alice speaks of the importance of giving chances. Julie now tells Maggie that Alice raised her. The redhead nods. "I think she raised all of us," she says sagely. - Stefano walks into his mansion thru the elegant front door, having been unable to sleep. Kate could kill that b*tch Madeline for causing him such stress. The phoenix complains she actually dared threaten him to do as she says and keep his distance or else she will release that tape - and no one threatens him! Kate points out there must be something more eating Madeline - something more than Will being pals with Chad. After all, she has more to lose if the tape goes public. Stefano growls first he must get the tape. Kate feels it would be a waste of time. She would have it in a safety deposit box. Stefano growls he wants that tape and he knows what he is doing! Madeline has crossed the line and there will be a retaliation! He moves a piece on the chess set. "I know just where to start!" He has already done some research and is aware of a safety deposit box at a bank in Salem which Madeline has not opened in years. Kate wonders if he found a way to access it. Indeed. They can walk through the front door! All he needs is someone to impersonate Madeline and pretend to have lost the key to the box. Kate wonders who he has in mind, whom he would trust enough, then laughs no. Stefano grins and lovingly taps her on the nose, to say yes! - At the Cheatin Heart, Maddie gives Chad a check for his grad party, which will be at the Cheatin Heart, though no booze is allowed. Chad is excited. When Will comes by, uptight Maddie is dismayed to hear he will be attending. Chad suggests he get his apron on to help out. Will grins and walks off to do just that. The seniors will be arriving soon. Mad Madeline reminds her son that Will lives with the DiMeras. Chad blows her off, tells her to relax. T-man plays pool and tells Will that Chad's mom has a cool exterior but seems sizzling hot underneath. Along comes Chad. He and Will discuss the picture of the young Kate and Maddie together, like pals. Chad remarks if they were once friends, it is now all over! Maddie later checks on the caterers and then departs. Chad tells Will there is more to his mom, of that he is certain. Will thinks they could always look into the real story behind that picture. The fellas agree to find out what is going on together. Salem just got its own version of the Hardy Boys! - Carly talks to Bo about the elevator problem at the hospital. Once she is off the phone, Mel wants Carly to tell her all about that argument she was having with Chloe, about Dan. Carly pauses. Mel knows she is keeping something. Suited Phil approaches and stares anxiously. Carly explains Chloe almost died and this has put everything in perspective. If Chloe and Dan have problems, then it should stay between them. She gets back to her rounds. Mel wants answers. She tries to look for Chloe's chart. Phil snaps she has no business doing that. Mel walks off to look for someone who knows something. Phil approaches Carly and wonders if she knows something he should know, as Mel seems to think she is aware of a certain something about Chloe. Carly is not interested in continuing the convo and Phil suspects she does know something! Meanwhile, in Chloe's room, Dan holds vigil at the bedside of his beloved and suggests Maxine pray. Chloe slowly opens her eyes and whispers his name. He is relieved. She laments she ruined everything. He assures her it was an accident. She moans too many people know. Dan thinks she is confused from the bump on her head. The fog will clear soon. He checks her out, noting her blood pressure is slightly elevated. She needs to relax. How did the accident happen and why was she there? Chloe soon finds out that Carly left Dan a message on his phone. He presumes she wanted to talk about the wedding, as she thinks they are rushing things. Enter Carly, who confirms that was what it was. Chloe's pretty eyes are filled with worry. Exit Dan, so Carly may confer with the patient. Chloe wants to know if she was going to tell Dan. Carly now says she will not, though Chloe really must tell him the truth! Chloe wishes to be left alone. Out in the hall, Dan shares with Mel how relieved he is that his Chloe is alright. He could not take losing the love of his life again. Phil gives Mel a nervous look. Mel tries to be nice and walks off to get papa Dan some food. Phil remains. - In the hospital lounge, Steph meets grandma Caroline, who asks how things are between her and Nath. Steph smiles he is the one for sure! She admits she almost did something stupid to get Nath to commit more ... Caroline calls the pregnancy trick the oldest one in the book. Steph explains she told Nath, who was great about it, but thankfully she is not pregnant. Caroline gets an unexpected call and her face falls. "Oh my," she whispers. After the call, she tells Steph the caller was Doug, with bad news. - Abe and Theo drop by Bo's place. Bo sends Theo to help Ciara find her lunch box in the fridge. Bo has to find Ciara's homework and then she is ready for school. The homework is under the divorce papers. Abe asks if Hope is aware of those. Bo insists it is what she wanted, as she was the one who pushed for it in the first place. Meanwhile, Ciara tells Theo a secret. She saw her mommy hugging another man and also the treasures she had were taken, but her dad does not believe her about anything so she cannot tell him! Bo approaches with Abe and pleasantly asks what the kids are discussing. Ciara gives him an anxious look, then says she was simply telling Theo about her treasures. He is her best friend! The kids are sent outside with their backpacks to play on the swings while Bo has a word with Abe. Abe praises Ciara and perceives Bo is worried about her. Bo does not deny it. Abe informs him that according to Lexie, Hope is angry and perhaps wishes she had not requested the divorce. Bo, however, believes Hope may have been right to push him away and their marriage is over. Abe begs to differ. - Nath arrives at Maggie's kitchen with news of his recent Alice visit. She opened her eyes once and said "Oh Tom, you're here." Maggie cries then that is where she should be - with Tom now ... - Chez Bo, he has the divorce papers in hand. He flashes back to a time when he was a young man and promised Alice he would devote his whole life to Hope and Shawn D. Enter Hope. Bo notes somethings is wrong. Hope falls into his arms, sobbing. Gran is dying! Bo is sorry and holds her. Enter Carly in a red outfit. She stares at the scene of the pair in a tight embrace ... - Nath sits all alone at the pub, unable to eat or drink. Along comes Mel, who asks if he is okay ... - Back at the hospital, suave Phil visits Chloe in her room and reassures her she will be fine. Chloe has news. There is someone else who knows about her cheating - his mother in law, Carly! She overheard her tell Nath, though she is unaware that her affair was with Phil. Oh no! Phil fears if she tells Daniel, he will not let it go. He nervously adds they will figure something out. However, in the meantime, she simply must keep it quiet. Unbeknownst to him, Daniel has just opened the door. "Keep what quiet ...?" Next on Days of Our Lives "Stephanie's not taking her birth control pills!" Mel blurts out to Nath. "I am onto you!" Ari warns Nicole. Jennifer Horton Deveraux, the greatest soap heroine of all time, puts on a brave face. "This is where I need to be." She and Maggie hug. |
