Did she lie to him again? "Yes, I lied to you," she admits. She was indeed aware of the ransom note and did not tell Rafe, she explains. She first learned of the new note before the memorial service and chose not to share the news. She understands how angry he must be ... Elvis watches. Rafe calmly states they must take Sydney to the hospital and speaks of catching the kidnapper. Sami thought getting Sydney was the most important thing. He relents that is true. EJ is ready to blast Rafe for his procedure ... - At the hospital, Steph and Lexie discuss the happy news of Sydney's return. They now talk Melanie. Steph thinks what happened was horrible and thinks she could have stopped it. Lexie asks her what exactly she means. Steph mentions doing something that did not turn out ... Lexie understands, she has been there, and advises her to hope it is not a total disaster! Steph confesses she feels horribly guilty. Lexie asks for specifics and promises not to repeat her story. Steph admits she did not pass on a message to someone, as she was supposed to. She hates lying, but she did not necessarily lie by not doing something. A sin of omission, concludes Lexie. Such things always come out in the end ... In her room, Mel cries and then wonders what Nathan is doing there. He cannot stand seeing her like this. He assures her she is doing well. What else is wrong? Mel sniffles "You don't want to know." In fact, he does. She laments her life will never be right again. He touches her cheek. She tells him her news. Dr. Jonas is her real dad. She has always looked up to him and laments she could have had 18 years with him instead of 18 years of hell. Carly took that away from her. Nath is sympathetic. She makes a comment about him sounding like he cares. He insists he does. She assumes he is just being nice and feels guilty. He has no idea what she is talking about. She explains she does not blame him. He is confused. Blame him for what? "The letter," says she. "What letter?" asks he. The one she wrote him and gave to ... beep beep! Dr. Nathan has been paged. He will be back later, to discuss the mystery letter. Mel wonders if he is lying or never got her letter. He never lies, so she deduces that he never received the letter. She toys with her flashy wedding ring. It seems that Stephanie never gave him the letter ... ! - At the pub, Gaby takes the order of Kate and Stefano. He teases his bride about her shopping. She compliments his exquisite taste and thanks him for his patience. The phoenix knows she has been through a lot, with her daughter-in-law at death's door.He remarks she is tolerant with this one and did not even try to kill her! She calls that a bad joke. He takes her hand and says she is very sensitive. However, if Chloe's near death experience had not happened, she would not be his wife. He thinks for him it was a happy ending. He cannot imagine being without his Katerina, especially not now. Kate is sorry for what happened to his little Sydney. Stefano sighs. "Whoever kidnapped my grandchild, when I find them, and I am going to find them, they will beg for death!" The pair return home and enter the living room in time to prevent Elvis from ripping into Rafe. Stefano looks at his beloved Sydney in disbelief! Elvis frowns. Stefano calls this the answer to his prayers. Elvis warns him to keep his hands off his daughta and declares he is not part of his family! Rafe steps in. This is not the kind of return Sydney needs. Besides, they should get her to the hospital. He and Sami start to leave with Syd. EJ stops them. He would like to go to the hospital too. Sami agrees, as he is her father. Stefano tells Sydney he will do all he can to keep her in the family, where she belongs. Exit Sami and Rafe. Stefano does not give a damn how mad Elvis is, for this is a happy day indeed. EJ claims it changes nothing and walks out. Meanwhile, Rafe is rather distant with Sami outside. Rafe and Sami head to the hospital with the baby. Lexie is overjoyed to see Syd! Steph admires how mellow she is, considering what she went through. Rafe announces to Dr. Lexie they need her checked out for DNA. Sami wants to accompany her. Rafe points out she should not be with her, as there could be legal issues. Lexie takes her off with a female FBI agent for the examination. Sami is displeased. - Back at the mansion, Elvis says he is getting Stefano out of there and advises Kate to pack his things. Stefano RAGES. He has taken his abuse long ENOUGH! He will not keep him from his grandchildren and is he totally nuts believing he can get him out of his house! Kate does not want Stefano upset and smoothly intervenes. The legal battle of who owns the house could take months, during which time they will all be living there. Does EJ want Sydney to witness a screaming match every time his father walks into a room? He needs to make up with his father for his daughter's sake. Elvis is not interested. He drawls he must go to Sydney and strolls out. Once outside, he calls Anna and explains his real plan was actually to stay in town, play the hero, leave Hernandez in the dust! He will be in touch ... - Back at the hospital, Nath runs into Steph. She is about to confess, then covers by pretending she has not been visiting Melanie enough, hence her feelings of guilt. Nath talks about Mel opening up concerning her parents and other things. He puts his arms around Steph and wishes they were still at the lodge. She smiles they can plan another trip and they kiss.Then he is off to attend to his patient. Stephanie breathes a sigh of relief. "He doesn't know. I have to make sure he never does!" Out in the waiting area, Sami suspects Rafe is mad at her. He points out she was scared when she did what she did. She brings up the other note, how he involved the FBI. Rafe would rather not discuss. Sydney is safe, after all, everything is good. She cannot help but wonder if they are good, too. He exclaims all he ever cared about was Sydney. And he will find the s.o.b who did this. He must now make some calls and return to the field office so he saunters off. Elvis steps out of the shadows and asks what is up with Rafe. Sami admits he seems disappointed. She feels badly about lying to him and she does not blame him if he is upset. Elvis drawls he did not intend to causes problems for the two of them. Sami asks if he is sure about that or was that what he wanted all along! - Ari and Brady are out of town at a romantic lodge. He talks ice fishing. She believes him. He laughs and kisses her. He loves her. They move to the bed. Afterwards, they agree it is good to be out of town. He repeats he wanted to be alone with her. She is in seventh heave and suggests they focus only on them. More kissing under the sheets ... Brady later gets dressed and heads out to get some food. Outside, he gets the romantic trolley with champagne from the porter, tips him, and excitedly admits he is asking the woman he loves to marry him tonight. He whips out the ring box and admires the engagement ring. Inside the room, Ari calls sister Gaby, who thinks she sounds super serious about Brady. She is and she has a good feeling. Still in the hall, Brady fills a champagne glass and imagines how Ari would react to his proposal. She would say yes and they would kiss! They would clink glasses and then after she took a sip of champagne ... Brady now imagines Ari choking on the ring if he puts it in the glass and reconsiders. Best not to do it that way. Back to reality! Brady wheels in the champagne and glasses, the ring box held behind his back. They have something important to talk about. He announces he loves her and she always makes him smile. He loves her smile and her attitude and he does not want to ever give her up. She agrees with his joy about their reconciliation. Brady continues.He would like them to be for life. He presents the ring box, opens it, and gets on one knee. Will she marry him? "NO!" says Ari. - Back at the hospital, Steph enters Mel's room. How is she doing? Mel glares daggers at her, still smiling sweetly. "How do you think I'm doing, B*TCH!" Meanwhile, Elvis claims to Sami that he did not want Rafe to overhear their conversation about the ransom note, even though he is not a fan. He assures Sami all he is interested in is their daughta. He would not want to cause her pain. Sami is sorry she put him on the spot. Elvis now has a question. Can he spend the night with her? Rafe darkly stares from a distance ...! Next on Days of Our Lives "So you lied to me and you lied to Nathan," Mel accuses Steph. "I should have stopped that wedding when I had the chance!" Nath exclaims to Maggie. Rafe faces EJ. "You mind answering my question? What the hell's going on here!" |
