She flashes back to passing out, picks up the phone, and slams it down. She cannot tell anyone her problem as she will lose her license so she must quit cold turkey. There is no other way. She opens her door to Dr. Dan, who wants a word. He gives her a box of cigars he had intended for the male doc who was to cover for him. Carly asks about his date with Jen. It was good. Dan would like to reschedule their family dinner for lunch, as he and Jen are seeing each other tonight. Carly agrees. Dan teases her by calling her Katarina and departs. Carly gets tense. She goes out to the nurse's station. Abigail approaches and asks how she is. She thinks it is good that Carly at least now has someone to talk to about being ill. But she will not mention it again if that is what she would prefer. Carly quietly replies that would be the best thing. - In her kitchen, Maggie has just put a casserole in the oven. Chloe pops by for a friendly visit, as she was doing a voice lesson down the block. She has a couple of students! The redhead is glad to see her smiling. "I met a really great guy!" cheerfully announces Chloe. They drink tea and discuss. Maggie is dubious. Chloe explains he makes her feel good about herself. Maggie thinks she should be able to do that herself. Maggie smells her casserole baking. She made it with a Greek touch. Chloe drawls Vic is horrible to everyone but her and adds she wants her to be happy. Enter Jen, exclaiming she could smell it outside. She sees Chloe and her face falls. She is sorry for interrupting. - Quinn is outside on his phone, boasting he will make even more money when he expands. The drug operation is only the beginning. He will make a certain someone an offer they can't refuse! - Stefano walks into the living room at DiMera mansion as EJ leaves yet another message for Taylor to please call him. The phoenix warns to stop with the groveling, for they have a big problem. And if they do not take this guy out, Tay will be visiting him in jail and Samantha will have his children forever! EJ becomes sarcastic. Stefano is not in the least bit impressed, especially when EJ reminds him the switch was his idea. He loved every minute of it! He gives his son a choice. "Either we eliminate the foe Hernandez or I will make sure that Taylor knows all about this!" EJ clearly has no choice. - Sami has a night terror about being accosted in bed by Faux Rafe. She wakes up and gasps when Rafe calls her baby! She asks him not to call her that. He touches her face and tenderly assures her it is over. "Is it?" she numbly wonders. Feels like he still has control over her life. Rafe consoles her as they lie together nekid under the sheets. He promises her he will get EJ out of her life for good. Ring ring. Speak of the devil! Tis EJ, offering to bring the kids over in 20 minutes. Sami agrees, gets off the phone, and tells Rafe it is showtime! - Quinn calls Chloe and charmingly summons her to the pier. When Chloe gets off the phone, Maggie righteously asks if that was her new young man. Chloe smiles not to worry and takes her leave. Jen sighs she is so beautiful. Jennifer is wearing a pretty pink dress. She shares with Maggie that last night she saw none other than Victor Kiriakis.He seemed to be pining away. Maggie sighs that man makes her so stupid! - Chloe meets new man Quinn down at the pier. He flirts that fun is what she needs! She smiles. They eat ice cream and he suggests they go on a bona fide date. Chloe is apprehensive. He is a reminder of how she fell into bed with a stranger. He now gets a call, steps away, and mutters to his goon to accept the shipment and get it onto the street as soon as possible. Or else he will be disappointed and no one wants that! - Chad approaches Stefano at the mansion with a report he was asked to fact check. The facts were factual and the conclusions were imaginative. He notes the MBAs hired made DiMera Enterprises come out smelling like a flower. Stefano explains he is sorry for the mixup the other day. Chad drawls that is more fiction! His life is his own.The phoenix wonders if he finds Abigail more attractive the less he and Katherine support the union. Chad gets sarcastic about DiMera relationships. Stefano asks him to let him know if he pushes him too hard. He does not want to lose him. Chad grins he finds them all too fascinating to leave. He is not bored yet! Exit Chad. Stefano mutters there is nothing boring about this place. Elvis should know! - EJ arrives at the loft with Sydney and Johnny. Sami tells the kids Rafe is not there and sends them into the other room. EJ grins Rafe is not there? Sami snaps why is that his business! Meanwhile, real Rafe listens from another room, unseen. EJ argues that Sami's relationships with men affect their children. She had told him that Rafe had a complete disregard for their children. Sami gets mad and flies at him for daring to say that to her after what HE did. He asks for clarification about what she thinks he did. Rafe quietly hopes she will stay cool. Sami regains her composure and refuses to rehash the past. She explains that Rafe left, as he did not like being out of control. While he was away, he got help and is on new medication. He is back to his old self again. EJ is doubtful. Does this makes him like old Rafe around the kids? Sami retorts she would never do anything to jeopardize her children. EJ pauses and agrees she would not. Sami does not want him to give her the third degree. EJ notes she seemed almost glib about reuniting with Rafe. Sami defiantly declares she loves him and no one will change her mind. She hopes EJ will leave. EJ would first like word with Rafe himself, in order to evaluate his sudden transformation. Sami replies he is not there. EJ smugly states he is probably not back at the police department so please have him call him when he can. If not, she will hear from his lawyer! EJ walks out and pauses at the door. Something is off! Rafe now joins Sami and tells her she did good. Sami still worries the DiMeras might think their Rafe is a problem and everyone knows how they handle their problems! Johnny bounces out and is glad to see Rafe. He offers him a beer. Rafe explains it is morning. Johnny explains he always used to say it was 5 o'clock somewhere. He tells him he is different. Sami looks nervous. - At the hospital, Abigail earnestly promises Carly her secret is safe with her. Jen comes along and wants to know what secret! Carly pretends they were discussing doctor patient confidentiality. Abigail heads off as she is on break. Jen hopes her daughter did nothing wrong. Carly assures her that Abigail is a nice girl. Jen suggests they do lunch. Carly realizes she promised Dan and Mel and steps away to get in touch with her daughter. They can have coffee. She watches as Dan saunters over to Jen and gets up close and personal. - Maggie shows up at the Kiriakis mansion with the casserole for Victor. Henderson lets her in. She hands the Greek tycoon the casserole he realizes she made for him. She does not want him to gloat about her being there. He confesses he too was trying to come up with an excuse to see her, then realized it would not be fair to her. She reminds him she had said she was the one being unfair. He thought she was just being kind and doubts he can live up to her expectations. He does not deserve her so they should make a clean break. "Goodbye ..." The redhead exclaims she has something to say. He wants to do the right thing. She insists on being heard and tells him this is dumb! The Greek tycoon does not want her to get hurt. She had years with a man who deserved her trust. "I, madam, am no Mickey Horton!" The redhead believes he is just afraid of himself getting hurt. Besides, Mickey was passionate but flawed like Victor would be if only he manned up! She coyly adds he should call her when he wants to have fun and flounces off. Victor yells after her that he is not scared! - Jen and Carly talk in her office. Carly knows she told Dan she used to be called Katarina. Jen remembers those days, when she felt insecure and outclassed and dorky. Carly asks what is wrong. Jen laments she saw a photo of Rebecca and then saw Chloe this morning. Dan likes women who are va va voom! Carly insists she saw in his eyes that Dan feels that way about Jen, too! - At the park, Chad talks to Abigail about new papa Stefano. She quips he still seems controlling to her! Chad notes he should not keep talking about his father. They sit on a bench and he points out how bad he felt being the screw-up son of a successful lawyer who always criticized him. Stefano listens to his ideas and gives him books to read and discuss. He likes his approach, even if he is playing him! Then again, maybe he should not have said that. Abigail recalls how cool her dad used to be. But when she was in high school, she showed him a paper she was proud of. All he did was say good work and keep watching TV. Her mom was interested, but not Jack. She laments she stopped being interesting to him when she stopped being a little girl. So she can understand what he means about Stefano. "I really get it!" - At the loft, Rafe explains to Johnny he will not be doing bad stuff anymore, but they can still have ice cream sometimes! Sami hands him Sydney. Johnny points out that daddy said he was not coming back. Rafe insists he is back and never ever leaving again! The happy family hug on the couch. - EJ returns to the mansion. He admits to Stefano he did not see Rafe and tried to get Samantha to explain what was going on. Did she? He is not sure! - Carly is seated at her desk, alone in her office. She fantasizes about Dan approaching her and passionately kissing her, then wakes up with a start. She does not need such a complication in her life! - Jen is back at home and looks in the mirror as she hold a pretty dress to herself. "Who do you think you're kidding," she woefully whispers. - Back at the park, Abigail suggests she and Chad talk about something else. He has something in mind but not talking. He gets closer and closer and starts to kiss his girl. - Back at the mansion, EJ informs Stefano that Sami claims Rafe is the man she fell in love with. Stefano doubts it but wonders why the idiot who emptied his bank account of millions came back. EJ too is baffled. The phoenix suddenly announces he knows why ... Next on Days of Our Lives Dario confronts Rafe at the Cheatin Heart. "What the hell are you doing here!" "This situation, fatha, is a lot more dangerous than we thought!" EJ informs Stefano. Nicole glares daggers at Taylor. "Get out of town now!" she orders, then walks away. |
