That is all she needs in her complicated life. Not! Enter chipper Mel, there to talk lunch. She notices something is wrong. Carly plays it cool. Mel is later on the phone with Dan, who would be happy to go to the Brady pub. Mel wonders if Carly would like to take a rain check, as she does not appear to be in the mood for a family lunch. Carly smiles but she is! Mel steps out and Carly drops her bag. The bottle of pills falls out and she frowns. - Jen is on the phone, with Dan, who agrees to make plans for Chez Rouge. Jen is looking forward to it and looks at the items she just bought. Enter Hope. She teases what is going on! She looks in the shopping bag and finds the undies and lingerie Jen also purchased. She has the perfect necklace for her and thinks the blue dress is wonderful. She will look fabulous. Jen refers to herself as a fake who is playing dress up. She laments Daniel likes women who are ... you know! She can speak her mind and shoot pool, yet she has officially been a "mom" for years. She is not Daniel material. Hope does not think she is right about that, but if she is, then Daniel is an idiot! Jen pouts that Chloe looks like Angelina Jolie. Hope encourages her cousin, who is still insecure because of Jack leaving her. She assures her that she and Dan would be good together. She should stop worrying about how she will look, and focus on how she and Daniel relate to each other. She smiles at her to lighten up. Jen now agrees. Hope concludes that Daniel is one lucky guy! "Have fun!" Exit Hope. - Dan and Mel talk at the hospital as Carly joins them. The mood is light. Mel teases papa Dan about his shirt and the happy threesome head out together. At the pub, when lunch is over, they share a few laughs. Mel now wants to make an announcement. She has plans to become a nurse practitioner. There is an accelerated program to help her make up for the college credits she does not have. Dan and Carly are mighty proud. Mel considers them her inspiration. Dan enjoys his ice cream and wonders when Mel made her decision. When she delivered Parker and also helped him save Jen. She will be needing a letter of recommendation. Carly's phone rings and she must return to the hospital. She had a wonderful time and hopes they will do this more often! - At the mansion, replay of Stefano suddenly stating he knows why Rafe 2 came back. He has fallen in love with Samantha, just as they had suspected! EJ deduces the situation has become even more volatile than before. They cannot imagine how Rafe 2 ingratiated himself with Sami again, as he is a total twit . In addition, he has an uncontrollable temper that makes him a ticking time bomb. EJ finds it odd that Samantha is no longer worried about him being near the children. Stefano exclaims all she ever cares about is the man in her bed. They must get rid of their stand-in. EJ assumes there is a simple reason he is staying. He must want more money. "Greedy swine!" growls the phoenix. - Rafe saunters into the Cheatin Heart, updating Sami on his phone. He drawls he is picking up some food for their “friend" and he will try to get him to talk! After he ends the call, he sits down. Dario glares at him and demands to know what the hell he is doing there! Rafe grins at his little brother. Dario snaps at him to go score somewhere else. Rafe explains he is back with Sami, working things out. Dario thinks that is stupid. Rafe realizes he has not been quite himself lately. Dario bitterly adds he did not even care that he found the guy who killed sister Arianna. Rafe gets choked up and thanks him. He should have been the one to find him. He sincerely wants things to change. Dario wonders who the hell he is. Rafe asks him for another chance. Dario snaps he had his chances and blew them. There is no turning back! He steps away from the bar. Rafe is clearly disappointed. - Tay and Nicole meet at the park. Tay solemnly tells her she is leaving and she won, so she hopes she is happy! Nicole gets sarcastic and upset. Taylor points out if EJ loved her, he would not have looked at another woman. Their marriage was not based on anything real. Nicole insists he did love her until she came along and batted her lashes. Tay disagrees. She realizes her pride is hurt but she won. If she does not let EJ go, however, they will both be miserable. Nicole seems to think she is trying to con her. She warns her sister she will never get what she wants! Tay implores her to set EJ free. Nicole will not. Tay calls her a b*tch. Nicole calls EJ a ruthless mobster and killer. "Not anymore!" declares Taylor. Nicole explains he is the kind of man who will say anything to get what he wants. Tay quietly replies she is wrong and she knows he loves her, that is why it is tearing Nicole up inside. Nicole retorts that by sending her away, she is actually doing her a favor, and storms off. - At the hospital, Lexie and Brady talk hospital affairs. When Lexie gets back to work, Taylor approaches boss Brady. She would like to resign. He drawls she is not going anywhere. She has an iron clad contract and he intends to hold her to it. "So sue me!" she laughs. She has no money anyway. Brady is curious if she is leaving because of Nicole. Taylor will only say that it is time for her to move on ... Lexie comes back and is unpleasantly surprised to hear it. She will miss her. Once the two women are alone, Tay laments that Nicole knows EJ does not love her. Lexie sighs that women who love EJ often get hurt. Perhaps this is for the best. Lexie does not see this ending well, and she also believes EJ will not let Nicole get out of it unscathed. Tay sighs she cannot bring herself to say goodbye to EJ. She should just go ... - Back at the mansion, EJ points out to Stefano that they cannot simply sit around and wait for the truth to come out. Enter Nicole wearing a smirk. "You got that right!" Stefano drawls that her talking about the truth is like Mel Gibson talking about restraint! Exit the phoenix. Nicole pours herself a drink and taunts EJ that she just saw Taylor, who thinks he did a bad thing by selling drugs and paying that evil man to kill Ari. Now she has even more on him! Tay believes he is a changed man. She would be ever so shattered to learn what he did to Rafe. EJ warns her to knock it off, as he is not in the mood. Nicole continues. Tay was only his fantasy, but she is too good for him. Nicole adds that she accepts him for who he is. EJ drawls he longs to be the man Taylor loves. Unfortunately, he is married to a b*tch like Nicole. Nicole throws her drink in his face. They continue to bicker. Exasperated, he tries to remind her they had a business arrangement only. Nicole insists they have a future. He refers to their relationship as one based on hate. She points out there is a fine line between love and hate. Nice try, but it doesn’t work. Nicole pours herself another drink. He hopes that she will keep this one in the glass. Nicole explains she is saving their marriage. She is keeping him out of jail and that is not all! She leers she will make it as easy as possible for him to get over her sister. EJ anxiously grabs her arm and demands to know what she has done ... - Mel runs into upset Dario at the park. He complains his brother is back with Sami, acting like nothing ever happened. Sami might take him back, but he and Gabi will never forgive or forget. Mel thinks that is foolish. - Lexie cheerfully brings some paperwork to Carly at her office. She saw her leaving with Daniel and Mel and it seemed they were having a great time. Carly confirms that they certainly were. Lexie notes Mel is crazy about Dan. Carly admits she is crazy about him too! But alas he is seeing Jennifer and they are good together. Lexie wonders if she is going to let it go. Carly replies she has no choice. Lexie gets paged away and promises they can continue their conversation later. Carly, however, thinks there is not much to talk about! Also at the hospital, Brady, who considers Jen like family, wants to talk to Dan about his intentions with her. She is still fragile because of Jack. He might end up hurting her. Dan promises he will not do that. Brady points out he might do so unintentionally. It is nice he gave her her heart back, but he should not break it. Dan solemnly considers. - Meanwhile, Jen holds up her dress and tells herself this is good. It is time to try something new ... - Back in her office, Carly vows to get off the drugs for Melanie's sake. She will do it on her own! She puts the pill bottle on her desk. - Back at the park, Mel does not think Dario should hold a grudge against family. Dario agrees she is right. He will give his brother another chance. Just one ... - Rafe brings the bound and gagged imposter a bag of food. But first he wants to resume their conversation. He had better be ready to share! The imposter’s eyes are filled with dread … - At the mansion, EJ demands to know what Nicole did to Taylor. She is gone. Where? She just packed up and left and Nicole cares not where she went! - At that very moment, Taylor hands a hotel bellhop a tip and thanks him for showing her to her room. She is not sure how long she will be staying. She sits down and quietly tells EJ (who is not there) that she is sorry, but she must do this for them ... Next on Days of Our Lives Lexie gives Stefano a worried look. "Are you and EJ in trouble?" "WE HAD A BUSINESS ARRANGEMENT!" EJ thunders at Nicole. "A BUSINESS ARRANGEMENT!" Interrogator Rafe slugs the bound and gagged imposter who stole his life. |
