PART 1 - The fireplace and lazy jazz music set the mood at Chez Rouge, where EJ works alone at a table. Kate waltzes in and invites herself to join him. She glances at the menu and talks salmon. He replies he is working. Kate teases him about wanting to legitimize the DiMera name with the secret project he will not share. She offers to help. EJ is amused. She points out her success rate is better than his. He drawls that she already knows enough and besides, he is not interested in her advice. He does not approve that she suggested he bring a woman on board as a partner. The talk turns to Chloe. Kate is not unhappy about the tramp's state and reminds him she can be ruthless. She is offering to be ruthless for him! They dine and EJ notes she thinks he has an image problem. She insists he needs a wife to soften his image. He points out he has one. She refers to Nicole as a tarantula and mentions their divorce. It is impending. Kate thinks he needs someone to be like she is for Stefano. He sarcastically remarks she was blackmailed into marriage and wants her to shut up. Diva Kate cannot believe he actually thinks he will fall in love again. She cackles he is hopeless. EJ stares. He explains everyone likes to be loved. She points out he has been looking for love in all the wrong places. Sami was hopeless, Nicole was bad, and then her overqualified sister was a predictable miss. EJ makes light of her comments. She teases he is all a woman would want. Except human. "You are a complete bastard!" she concludes with a smile. - Brady pours himself a coffee outside Chloe's hospital room. Nicole is with him. Brady wonders if they should call her parents. Nicole thinks they should wait until she wakes up and says so. Brady is about to go check on her when Nicole gets a text. "Oh my god!" Brady is curious. Nicole lies that brother Brandon is texting her from work, where there is a situation. Nicole steps away. She now calls someone and asks what they know about her sister ... - Gus drinks and flashes back to planting Quinn's hairs at the scene of Chloe's attack. He is at the Cheatin Heart drowning his sorrows. Quinn clamps his hand on his shoulder and sternly tells RUSS he has some explaining to do. Where did he go earlier? Gus drawls that Quinn and Madame Viv did not need him around. Viv is done for the night but Quinn tells him to check in with her. Gus shoves him and growls he does not take orders from him. He exits and Tay approaches. She tells Quinn their kiss should not have happened and she regrets it. Nicole happens along and gloats she got here just in time. What does her sister regret? Tay snaps she regrets that she does not mind her own business. Nicole toys with them and introduces herself to Quinn. How did they meet? Quinn retorts that is none of her damn business! She pries if they are dating. Quinn warns her he meant what he said. He advises her to move on. Nicole takes Tay aside and calls him abusive. Does that not bother her? Quinn quips they only just met. Nicole laughs with a snort and points out Tay is a woman of secrets.She suspects he is one of them! She gets nowhere, then pretends to Tay that she is concerned about his background. Then again, maybe they have a past. Tay blurts out they used to be involved, but his being in town is a mere coincidence. Nicole suggests he came to town to see her again. Taylor claims they are not romantic. Nicole refers to him as Quinn Hudson and boasts she already knows about what happened to them in Europe ... - At the foggy alley, Bo and Hope are still at work on the case. Hope hands Roman the sketch. They all think the guy looks remotely familiar. Bo and Hope will continue searching for clues. Roman asks them to keep him posted and walks off. Unbeknownst to them, Gus watches from the shadows! Roman comes back. They discuss Chloe. Hope recalls how she was giving singing lessons. Roman asks whether Phil was contacted. He is in Europe and they have been unable to reach him. Maybe when Chloe wakes up, she can inform them why the guy in the sketch looks so familiar. Gus listens from behind a crate. Roman notes Bo and Hope still finish each other's sentences. Roman gets a call and walks with Bo and Hope to a spot where something was supposedly found. As soon as they are out of sight, Gus reaches forward and snatches a phone (or radio) that was left behind by one of the cops on scene ... - In her hospital room, Chloe whispers Gus' name. Lexie is studying her chart. She asks if she said something. No response. Brady enters. Lexie explains she tried to say something and could be coming out of the coma. She tries to get her to speak, with no success, but remains hopeful. Chloe moves her head slightly as she flashes back to the attack. Her heart rate increases. Brady wants to know what is going on. Lexie is not sure yet. Brady is soon alone with the patient, remembering once upon a time when they were in Italy together. He implores her to wake up. They need to hear what happened to her! Chloe dreams of seeing Gus as he took off his mask and becomes extremely distressed. Dr. Lexie rushes in as soon as she hears the wildly beeping machine ... Read Part 2 - click here! |
