The phone rings. Tis out of town Stefano, though he is not seen or heard. Kate announces she has news to share. He already knows, as EJ told him of the venture! She admits she had considered going outside the family until EJ made her an offer for the family. She adds EJ knows a good thing when he sees it! - At the pub, Nicole assures Brady that Chloe would not want them to stand around wringing their hands. Brady feels guilty that she felt her only option was to sell her body. Nicole suggests they get their stories straight and sighs sometimes people are not proud of what they've done. EJ looks up and drawls isn’t that the truth! He makes a snide remark about their brand spanking new romance looking like it is already on the rocks. Nicole snaps at him. EJ gets his tea and adds she always defaults to Brady, so until someone richer comes long ... Brady stands up and threatens him. EJ coldly warns him he could still press charges for that other matter. Nicole suggests Brady leave it be, as EJ cannot hurt her anymore. EJ asks Brady why he bothers to defend this opportunistic woman who only wants money and sex - in precisely that order. Nicole slaps him and calls him an arrogant bastard. EJ smirks that was nothing. Nicole asks Brady to wait for her outside. He obliges. Nicole wonders why EJ was so mean. Is he jealous? She reminds him he found it easy to cheat on her with her sister so why the hell does he even care? EJ blinks and plays it cool. Nicole laments she is trying to move on. Is that okay with him? He appears to whisper it is not. Nicole gets mad and blurts out she could just kill him. Brady comes back and intervenes. EJ politely states it was a pleasure and exits. Nicole thanks Brady and hugs him tight. They sit and she continues complaining. EJ is acting juvenile. Brady thinks he seems hurt. He brings up Nicole's pattern with men. She loves, snags, and then leaves guys. Of course, EJ is an ass, but surely she must realize what is going on. She came to him after EJ, just like before. Brady admits he cares for her. However, he wonders when he will hear the other heavy shoe falling to put a damper on things. - Sami comes home with groceries. The kids are at Caroline's. Rafe is sitting at the computer and claims he is reading a law enforcement blog. Sami remarks he is taking notes and she wants to see. He hastily grabs his notes. She runs to the computer and is shocked to see it is really a website for ovarian cancer. Sami now panics that Lexie must have called with the test results. "I have cancer!" she gasps. She proceeds to flip out. Rafe interrupts and informs her no one called. Sami admits this is getting to her. He explains that is why he wanted to do some reading on the topic. Sami suspects he thinks she has it. He is not sure, but if she does, they are prepared for the fight! They hug. Sami promises she will fight cancer if she has it, but she is upset that Rafe went fact checking behind her back. She yells he should have left it alone and storms out. She soon returns and sits with him on the sofa when he asks her to. She is sorry. He understands and points out they are dealing with this differently. He puts an arm around her. Sami confides she feels like she is out of control. She has no plan. He thinks she should wait until she knows. She puts her head on his shoulder and wishes she had a job, to keep her mind off the waiting. Rafe drawls having a job does not make much of a difference. Sami laments when Johnny was sick, she knew exactly what to do. And she did. They both did. She believes her being sick might keep Johnny healthy. Rafe explains it does not work that way. Sami makes tea and insists she does not wish to miss any of the kids' special days. She simply must see Johnny make his first million! Rafe is amused. Sami recalls how she used to make John's life miserable when she was such a downer. Rafe declares she is his whole world and means everything to him. He promises they are in this together. "Forever." They kiss and she smiles. He is a great guy. She admits she overreacted out of fear. He is afraid as well, of seeing her in pain and helpless, unable to make her better. She replies he always makes her better. Rafe longs to tell her that they will live happily ever after and there is nothing to fear. He kisses her. - Gabi joins Abigail at the Cheatin Heart. She is a freshman at university, still getting her bearings. She admits to Abigail that boyfriend Will shares many classes with her, but seems to spend time mostly with his friends. Abigail presses. Gabi laments they have not had any repeat sex! - Outside the Cheatin Heart, Chad talks to Sonny about the website. He was disappointed that the library did not help with their research. Sonny concludes they were not looking in the right place. They need a BIG idea that is original. Will shows up excitedly tells Sonny he has something! They should rate their profs, T.A's, courses on a student site. It will be comprehensive and have other stuff, too. The guys are impressed. Will suddenly realizes he was supposed to meet Gabi, and learns she is sitting inside. Will walks in with Chad and Sonny and wonders what the two girls are discussing. They will not say. Chad compliments Abigail on her dress. Will has football tickets and invites Gabi. Sonny excitedly opens his computer and wants to get back to biz, cos this student website could really be something! They look at a boring, out of date Salem U sports site. Will feels there should be new video highlights and the ability to buy tickets online. It could be part of their comprehensive site for Salem U students. The girls pipe in, talking sponsors and player profiles. The guys are ready for all the work. They will present their business plan to the athletics department. Will tells Gabi they will have more time together if they both work on the website. She acts optimistic and they kiss. - Back at DiMera mansion, EJ is in business mode. He examines the numbers for Countess Wilhelmina. He is impressed that they are good. Kate is pumped. EJ suggests they recruit someone with a famous face as their spokesperson, like a model. He does not wish to interfere too much. Kate points out Stefano already knew about the venture. However, she will let that go, as her sole focus is the company. EJ muses the old Kate has returned. She smiles she missed her fire. She muses his drive now reminds her of the old EJ. He had been too distracted by women. He points out he was never lost. Perhaps not, but she still likes this version better. More efficient. EJ murmurs this business fits into his plans. It will help open other doors for the company. Kate warns she will take the project elsewhere if he makes any attempt to mould her plans ...! Read Part 2 - click here! |
