When he hears she will be a Spectator reporter he seems surprised, given he is D.A. and then there is the DiMera company conflict of interest. Nicole explains she will not be involved in anything DiMera. She makes him say he is on board and he praises the fire in his dahling's eyes. Time for a toast. Then he slyly suggests a story on Paulina's Smith Island Snowstorm scandal ... Sloan claims she came to tell Leo about his boyfriend's release. Eric confronts her for paying Leo's rent for the last 6 months. She warns his snooping was illegal but Eric only cares about the truth and nothing but. He demands she explain. Sloan spins Leo is her client and she felt badly about not being able to get the love of his life outta the slammer. Leo takes the story and runs with it, suggesting angel Sloan saved him. Eric argues Leo has a job now so why did she continue to finance him. He confesses he is a shopaholic and promises to pay Sloan back if she can forgive him for taking advantage of her generosity. She does and they fake hug. Eric has seen quite enough and snaps the money for this room is over ... - EJ spins until wifey Nicole listens and steps away to take a call ... Nicole sighs and calls Chad. He will make up his mind after she pitches her story ... Meanwhile Abe and Paulina are watching movies and munching popcorn. She hopes the children and Julie are alright. She is elated to hear Chanel and Johnny are apartment hunting which would take them away from the crooked DiMera D.A. She is also relieved to hear they looked well ...
