She senses EJ and gets out her gun ... EJ adds Ava to his enemies list as well as Kristen ... Outside Ava gets out her gun. Time passes. EJ sloshed and smug he is a step ahead of his enemies and cackles he wins. Then he eyes a figure and demands to know wot they are up to ... JJ is back at the station and hopes Gabi will return his call ... EJ goes down with a BLOODY BANG. The shock on his face speaks volumes. The bitter future phoenix has fallen! Paulina senses Chanel’s worry. Chanel stammers he said he was off to see Roman but she had heard nada. Perhaps he should head to the pub ... Chad arrives at the mansion and finds EJ whimpering in a pool of blood. The true blue brother races up and gasps in horror ...At the hospital Kayla thanks cat for her help. He reassures his brother and scrambles to stop the bleeding ... At the pub Kate remembers EJ threatening to cause trouble for Phil her favorite. She hissed if he touched her kids she would end him. Then she calls Roman who is not answering. All of a sudden Ava whizzes by with her suitcase cos she blowing the Salem pop stand! - Kayla teases Cat about getting Chad on board with the bachelor auction. The girl feels lucky he overcame his suspicions. Kayla explains how he was not ready to move on from losing Abigail. Cat changes the subject to her gratitude. Kayla gets paged away to deal with a gun shooting. Seconds later Chad emerges from the elevator rubbing the blood from his tired hands. Cat gasps in horror. He complains his brother was shot ... At the station JJ gets a bad feeling when he hears EJ DiMera was shot ... Chanel is worried about Johnny and repeats what he told her . EJ is as good as dead to him. Paulina understands the sentiment and promises to protect the adoption from EJ. Then she remembers her last run.in with him and decides time time to come clean ... - Ava informs curious Kate she is Hong Kong bound to see Tripp and Wendy. Ava alludes to Kristen and wild mom Rachel not being able to bother her from there. Kate asks after Brady. Alas they broke up. Ava now admits that was a true story. Kate knows EJ must have known all along. Kristen flashes back to EJ leering about her madwoman motha Rachel and agrees one must never forget EJ ... Chad is rattled. Cat is sympathetic as he admits he would hate to lose another family member. EJ stepped up for Abigail. Chad gets choked up about not having enough time. JJ arrives, sorry to hear that he found EJ but will need his statement. Chad wonders where to start with the long enemies list ... Roman gets to the pub. Kate tells him Ava is leaving. Roman is sorry she is going. She hands him his key and admits she cannot wait to blow the pop stand of Salem ... Johnny returns to Chanel and seems to hesitate before admitting where he was ... Roman wishes Ava the best and she thanks him for his benevolence. He teases not to cause any trouble and helps her with her bag while Kate watches. Ro puts up the closed sign afterwards and she wonders what he wanted to discuss. He suggests she go first. She complains about EJ ... Rattled Chad informs investigating JJ he went to explain to his brother he had no choice but to publish the hateful article. He woefully adds the last time he saw that amount of blood when that night they lost Abigail. JJ is sympathetic and will be in touch if he has any info ... Sympathetic Cat approaches Chad, who sighs some of his family will be happy about what happened ... - Chanel is still waiting to hear where Johnny was. He remembers informing his father he was DEAD to him, then fibs he was walking in the park the whole time. Chad now calls to tell him EJ was shot and is in critical condition ... Forensics has taken over the mansion to hunt for clues. JJ asks Mcgee for an update. So far no weapon. JJ wants all in the family interviewed. Closeup of the phoenix figurine that was hiding a secret ... Ava stashes her gun in some trash outside and takes off ... Kate has serious concerns about EJ targeting her family. Hubby vows to stand by his woman and her children. She will stand by him too. Ro suggests she call Rex and kisses her. Kate heads upstairs and he flashes back to Johnny learning about his gun in the locked box he had at the pub. Johnny was already bitter about EJ being a monster. Back to the present. Roman puts his gun back in the box ... Johnny announces to Chanel and Paulina that EJ was shot but he refuses to go see him cos he had it coming. Paulina and Chanel exchange a worried look ...
