He realizes something is wrong with Rafe ... At the square anxious Gabi bumps into a very curious Leo ... When JJ informs Kristen her brother was shot so she cannot go any further her first question is - IS HE DEAD - seems a tad telling ... Medicine woman Kayla informs Chad that EJ is stable but they will know more in 24 hours. Chad looks worried as Cat stands with him. It seems Chad is the only person in Salem who is genuinely upset for EJ ... Rafe drinks up and denies having any probs. Javi suggests cheesecake and a heart to heart conversation. Rafe scoffs about Jada admitting she cheated and he does not mean with Arnold ... Shawn finds sloshed pretty Jada alone at the bar. She wants to buy him a drink . Leo lowers his voice and warns Gabi that a killer is walking around Salem. Someone tries to murder EJ ... After hearing EJ is at least somewhat alive Kristen turns to go to the hospital. Suspicious JJ stops her ... - Jada complains Rafe gave her the boot. Shawn is sympathetic and surprised he could not find it in his heart to forgive her ... Javi is shocked Jada slept with jawline hunk Shawn. He blames Arnold for breaking her heart in the first place. He also suggest forgiveness. Rafe wonders ... Kristen is anxious to get to EJ. JJ seeks her story and wonders when she last saw him. She remembers confronting him about her missing mother. He raged not now and she went upstairs warning she would get to he truth. Alone in the hall she got out her gun but she only tells JJ she left as EJ was mad and wanted to be alone ... Leo explains to Gabi he did not mean EJ was killed but he still might not survive the shooting. Gabi quips GOOD and hope he goes straight to .... - Good brother Chad hears from medicine woman Kayla that EJ suffered a punctured lung but survived. Tis still touch and go. Cat stands by her man and wonders how to help. Chad suggests she pray and goes to see his besieged brother ... Javi argues Jada deserves to be forgiven but Rafe is still smarting from her not realizing he was not himself for so long ... Shawn blames Arnold. Jada sighs Rafe was upset she did not realize he was a different man. Shawn tries to make her feel better and she is glad he came. He is here about work cos someone high profile was shot ... Kristen is convincing as she tells JJ she was upstairs showering, got out and started to dry her hair. She heard no shot. JJ suspiciously wonders why the shower and suggests she could have been washing forensics evidence from her body ... Gabi lists EJ's many misdeeds. Leo wonders who she thinks did it. She knows not and cares not cos the badass beech had to pay. Leo would like to quote her dish ... - Cat is stunned when Kayla states tis not the first time EJ got shot. Then it was by one of Weston's gang. Stefano hid him for a very long time while he recovered. Chad loves his brother and would not want to loose him again ... As EJ serenely sleeps Chad assures bro he is here and loves him, never mind the article. He called Susan and spoke to Sydney and JOHNNY, who is en route to visit. All of a sudden the Salem patient starts to convulse. Chad runs out and hollers HEEELLLLLLLP Kayla rushes in to the rescue ... Kristen acts indignant but JJ has not forgotten what she did to Haley! Kristen quips you could fill the whole town square with those who would want to get revenge on EJ. JJ pauses and remembers finding Gabi at the mansion with a gun aimed at EJ at close range! He had told her to STOP. - Gabi worries Leo will make her look culpable and calls him a muppet. She reminds him she let him live at the house. Leo agrees to leave her out of it and offers her a ride home. She thanks him for that but must go take care of something ... Javi continues to insist tis not too late and hears how Jada did say she still loved Rafe. He suggests Raphael hate EJ for he is the real fiend. Rafe smirks he already arranged to make the sob pay ... Jada is shocked to hear EJ was shot in the last few hours and she was not notified. Shawn called but she had turned off her phone. She decides to head to the station with him and falls. He catches her and wonders why she is not wearing her gun! Jada is aghast it is gone. Shawn repeats the question. She decides she must have locked in her desk. Shawn notes she has her holster and decides she should not show up at the station sounding tipsy. He suggests she head home and sleep it off. Alas she has no home so he suggests she stay at his place ... Leo heads home and announces to Rafe and Gabi that EJ - aka Salem's most hated - got shot in the living room. Rafe remembers the wire he planted in the phoenix statue and hastily excuses himself. Leo senses something ... Back at the mansion Kristen denies any wrongdoing. JJ orders her to steer of the crime scene Livingroom and stay in town. She continues to act indignant, pauses to stare at the living room and leaves. JJ blinks ... - At the square Gabi is on a call to hospital admin seeking an update on EJ. She gets hung up on ... Cat sits with Chad, who is upset about EJ's seizure. He blames himself for the article that started the disaster. Cat insists only EJ's actions are to blame and urges him not to blame himself. Alas he fears he might lose his brother. She grabs him in a heartfelt hug ... Jada departs the bar with Shawn ... Later when it is dark Kristen comes downstairs and stares at the pool of blood. She hears a sound and steps away. Rafe creeps in and removes his bug from the phoenix, then passes the blood and creeps out ... Back at Hernandez House Javi tells Leo that Rafe mentioned making EJ pay. Leo heard the same kind of talk from Gabi ... At the square Gabi is looking for the latest news on her phone and loudly wishes EJ would just die! Here comes JJ. She asks about suspects and he remembers making her stop when she had a gun on EJ. Then he notes tis too early ...
