EJ shuts his book and sits next to her, concerned. He now feels he should not have allowed her to come. Perhaps they should go back. She gives him a look. They could both be charged, him for murder, her for being an accessory. He smoothly suggests he pretend he made her come with him. She disagrees with the idea. He claims to be worried. She may have been impulsive. Sami acknowledges he saved her life but that is not why she is here. He sighs she is having nightmares. She insists on sticking with him until they have proven his innocence. He appreciates the noble gesture and reminds her they are but an hour away from home in the event that she changes her mind. She talks food. He makes a snide remark about tins and jerky but she knows the DiMeras would hide out in style. She presses the remote to watch TV when all of a sudden a man with a gun appears. EJ stands in front of her. The man emerges from the darkness. EJ cheerfully embraces loyal employee Sylvio. He pleasantly introduces Sami. Sylvio will bring them a change of clothes to tide them over until the stores open in the morning. He explains Stefano also equipped the place so he could surf the web. EJ thanks him and he is on his way. Sami decides to go on Facebook, then realizes the cops could trace them. Clever EJ whips out an apparatus to scramble the signals. She now sits down at the computer. Perhaps she can find her mom through Will’s page ... She soon reads that Marlena and Will played a word game, after which she let the kids have a food fight. She admires the photos and insists she feels better being away now that she knows the kids are happy. EJ promises she will be back with them soon. They just need to come up with a plan. - Down in the tunnel, when Mel hears Chad call her name, she breaks away from Brady and rushes to him, much to Gabi’s chagrin. “You’re here!” They embrace and she thanks him for not giving up. He could not live without her and emotionally states he loves her. Gabi frowns. Chad thanks Brady for taking care of his girl. Brady warns him they must be mindful of the cut on her leg. Mel is now dismayed to hear that Andrew probably got away. Chad vows to protect her. Rumbling noises are heard. Brady announces it is time to go! - Replay of Ian thundering to Kate that he killed Stefano and she should be grateful! Kate stares and wants him to repeat what he said. He now claims he said nothing. Kate is utterly horrified. He murdered him! Ian offers her a scotch. He leers she is Lady Macbeth and reminds her that her fingerprints were on the weapon. She sends his drink flying across the room and attacks him, screaming over her husband’s spilled blood. He pretends that was not what he meant but she rages he cannot take it back. Kate starts to leave to tell Roman but he roughly shoves her on the bed and locks the door. "Not so fast, lady!" - Replay of Jen woefully telling Adrienne that Jack perished after saving Abigail. She is sorry her brother died tonight. Adrienne cries on Justin’s shoulder. Jen again whispers she is sorry. Adrienne is in denial, for Jack always comes back ... Jen sadly shakes her head. It does not feel real. Abigail and Cam approach. Abigail cries he died a hero. Her hero. Julie is visibly upset to hear of his demise as well. She approaches Jen and recalls how he was on that cruise years ago, and what a family man he was. Jen smiles as they remember him together. Julie notes Alice was his biggest fan and they are together now. "Oh Julie," laments Jen as she breaks down in her arms. - Nicole begs Dr. Dan not to let her baby die! He gives her water and urges her to squeeze his hand. She gasps the doctor said she would not carry a baby to term. He gives her a pep talk about her inner strength. He vows to get her through this, provided she trust him. Can she do that? She weakly nods, then cries in pain. Bo returns and holds her as Dan administers an injection. She gasps the last time they could not stop her contractions. He calmly assures her that she will not lose her baby. She relaxes somewhat. Nicole suddenly stares and Dan wonders what is the matter. She feels better now. Bo steps away to check on the status of the tardy ambulance. Dan and Nicole are both relieved when the doc uses his stethoscope and notes the contractions have stopped, the baby’s heart is stronger. Bo comes back. The ambulance is almost there. Dan understands he has others to look after as well. Bo goes back to help those in need. Nicole emotionally thanks Daniel for being there for her, for his promise was not a broken one. She has endured a lifetime of broken promises. This is the second miracle he has given her, the first was when he informed her she was pregnant. Dan hugs her and must get back to the injured and look for his daughter once the paramedics arrive. She assures him she will be fine and thanks him for everything. He kisses her and departs. Nicole cries tears of joy for her saved child. - Cam arrives at the pub to relieve Dr. Kayla. She notes his long face. Jen asks for a quiet corner where she can call her son. Kayla points to a quiet corner and now faces Julie, Adrienne, and Justin. Has something happened? Julie numbly states that Jack died tonight. Cam explains Jen was wondering where his remains were. Shocked Kayla offers to help locate them, then walks off with upset Adrienne to call his brother Steve. Meanwhile, Jen eventually gets though to JJ as Abigail fears he will be crushed. Jen explains to the unheard son that there is something she must tell him ... - Dan is still outside, trying to make a call. All of a sudden, Chad and Mel come around the corner with Gabi. Mel cries on her daddy’s shoulder and he holds her tight, wondering what happened. Once he has heard the tale, he thanks Chad for all he has has done and wonders where this Andrew character went. Chad complains he escaped, then excuses himself with Gabi to pick up some food. Dan holds his crying daughter and promises to never let such a thing happen again. From now on, she will be his first priority. - Kate stands up and glares at Ian, who glares right back. He leers she has no proof and has a history with Roman as well as John Black. She thinks Roman will believe her but he points out EJ the suspect is a fugitive as they speak. He wanted Stefano’s power and money that much more when he discovered he was no DiMera. Kate angrily disagrees. HE will not get it either! Madman Ian suddenly breaks the bottle and comes closer, threatening her. He kisses her one last time, tosses the broken bottle aside, and storms out. Kate wipes her mouth with a hand and sits back down, now feeling nothing but revulsion for the loon lothario, - At the pub, Cam hovers over Abigail. Jen is nearby, quietly speaking with her son. Abigail wonders what she will say and cries it was her fault. Cam disagrees and takes her face in his big hands. It was an accident and she must accept it. She numbly states she will never be able to accept what happened on this night. Never. He hugs her. Jen gets off the phone and Abigail asks if JJ is coming. Jen sighs he is in shock. Julie asks what she can do. She asks her to call the rest of the family. Julie gets to it. Cam takes Abigail out for some fresh air. Kayla, Adrienne, and Justin rejoin Jen. Steve was devastated and offered to come if needed. Jen thinks that is nice but they will be fine. Dr. Kayla realizes Jen is trying to be strong and feels it is not real. Jen gasps but she has lost him so many times ... Lawyer Justin has just received word that her husband was taken to the morgue. He will escort her there when she is ready. He hands her the envelope of Jack’s personal effects that an officer had brought. Jen sits down at a table and opens her late husband's wallet to an old photo of the happy supercouple in their youth. - Bo drops by Nicole’s room to see how she is doing. She smiles up at him from her bed. The baby is doing great. She thanks him. Bo remarks Daniel was the real hero. She agrees. Bo now gets a text and Nicole is curious. He admits that EJ left town after skipping bail. He must go get more details and departs. Nicole thanks him for coming. Once alone, she tells her baby she hopes he/she will never find out his/her father exists. She hopes soon Rafe will not have to continue pretending to be the father anymore either, as he cares for another, or a few others. What they need is someone who can make them happy ... - EJ is wearing a silk shirt as he opens a bottle of wine to go with the delicious food Sylvio's wife prepared. Sami has opted not to wear the skimpy little black dress that was provided and remains in a shirt and jeans. They sit down to the meal and discuss who might have killed Stefano. She defends Marlena and John and he assures her he does not even suspect them. EJ actually appears to have other matters on his mind. He charmingly praises the way she looks. She wonders how much red wine he has consumed and suggests she is a mess. EJ declares he sees the mother of his children, a businesswoman, a woman of action. He likes the lack of pretense when they are alone. Skimpy cocktail dress be damned, she could not be any sexier to him than now! - Brady returns to Madison’s room, where he is surprised to find Kate sitting all alone, in shock.
