He warns that being around him would make her a target for the DiMeras. "It's gonna get rough!" She already knows all about those DiMeras. However, it did seem that EJ wanted to change. Brady bitterly doubts it. He set up Victor to be whacked. He solemnly adds he has arranged for protection for the entire family. - Tired Sonny meets Abigail at the hospital. He starts his new job with the D.A. in the morning. Bad timing. He asks about Chad. Abigail is very worried about Chad remaining at the DiMera house. He points out the DiMeras are not lovable characters, but a crime family. Surely Chad realized as much. Abigail is also worried that EJ is using her boyfriend. She is unable to reach him by phone again. Sonny suspects the DiMeras want to keep him isolated from the outside, and that includes her ... - At the mansion, Chad announces to Bo, Hope, and the DiMeras that he has something to say! He knows nothing. Bo advises him not to lie to a police officer. Chad understands, as his father was the D.A. Stefano and Kate want the cops to leave. Bo sarcastically tells Chad to let him know if anything happened to slip his mind. Once they are alone, Stefano states he is proud of his son, but Chad feels lousy. Stefano reminds him they are blood. Chad starts to criticize this way of life. Kate returns and tells him not to talk to his father that way. Not tonight. Chad storms out. - At Maggie's side, Victor drawls he will not let those DiMeras take her away from him. Enter lawyer Justin. Justin thinks the patriarch is still endangering Maggie by being around her. In addition, he needs to know what he plans to do next. How many people need to get shot before he changes his ways! Victor retorts he has no plans at this time, as Maggie is not well. Justin is relieved, for the D.A. is out for blood and is seeking re-election next year. He implies Victor should say little, unless he wants Brady to pay the price. Victor considers. - Outside the pub, Taylor does not believe that EJ was responsible for Maggie's shooting. He is caught off guard. She explains he would not have hurt Maggie. He states Victor was the intended victim, as retaliation for what Brady did. EJ saunters into the pub, and orders a whisky. Tay follows him in and sits at his table. He tells the waiter to leave him the whole bottle. Tay thinks he is lying to her, but why? EJ points out that Maggie fell for a bad man and paid the price. He too is the devil. She should be smart and run as fast as she can! Tay whispers she is not going anywhere ... - At the hospital, Lexie and Adrienne are unhappy about the possibility of a DiMera/Kiriakis war. Lexie is also mad about being caught in the middle. Kate calls Lexie about Stefano's blood sugar. Lexie wants to stop by the mansion anyway, as she has something to say! Moments later, Adrienne hugs Sonny and they talk about the latest. Adrienne wonders if he has seen Brady and his rowdy male ego. Sonny laments sometimes he does not get straight guys. Ring ring! Sonny now gets texted by the D.A.'s office. They want him to start work tonight due to the Maggie Horton case! - Bo and Hope return to the police station. They believe Chad knows something. The D.A. shows up and wants to know who shot Maggie Horton. He demands an airtight case against the DiMeras this time! Hope informs him that will not be possible. Roman has taken them off the case. When they mention Chad, the D.A. insists they will be put back on the case and storms off. Bo explains to Hope that the D.A. probably wishes to destroy the DiMeras for what they have done, including stealing Chad away! - At the mansion, Kate assures Stefano that things will be alright. Lexie enters and flies at father phoenix for having his goon shoot an innocent woman. "What is wrong with you!" Kate retorts that the phoenix passed out. When Lexie proceeds to examine him, she wants to know what he was thinking. He grumbles she has it all wrong. Lexie accuses him of not caring. When he starts such a thing, everyone is at risk. Vic will want to hit back and what if he comes after little Theo, the other grandkids, or her? She cries they could lose their lives. Stefano assures her he would protect her at the mansion. She could stay there. Lexie snaps that would be a fate worse than death! Stefano sighs he has failed her and he is sorry ... - Chad arrives at the pub and proceeds to listen to EJ and Tay’s private conversation ... - Meanwhile, Abigail arrives at the mansion, looking for Chad. He is not there, but Kate wants her help ... - In Maggie's room, Justin warns Vic that the D.A. could easily connect the dots. Enter Bo. He agrees and updates Victor that the D.A. reassigned him and Hope to build a case against the DiMeras. He is seeking his assurance that he will let him do his job and not make a move to retaliate. Victor admits he cannot promise anything. Bo stares .... - Back at the hospital, Hope and Adrienne talk about the danger of the war. Hope is shocked to hear that Sonny Kiriakis is now working for the D.A. - The D.A. is on the phone with Sonny, having just given him his first task. He knows what he must do ...
