She has Maggie's power of attorney, and Maggie has a DNR - do not resuscitate. Thus, they must remove the ventilator. Hope starts to cry. Lexie points out these are Maggie's wishes. She is terribly sorry. - Disheveled Carly apologizes for all the mistakes she made with loved ones. She now knows she needs help. Dan puts a strong arm around her. Carly states she would not have come back if not for Quinn. Quinn glances through the window and then vanishes. Carly explains someone helped her get better. He was someone who wanted nothing in return. Jen wants to help her get her life and career back. Carly feels badly about how sad Mel was on the TV appeal. Dan wonders where she was all this time. She went somewhere to think and met her friend Quinn, who encouraged her to go to rehab. She cries she is sorry and hugs Mel. Dan wonders if she should wait before going to rehab, but Carly has already made her decision. She admits that things got mixed up in her head. Mel reassures her that she stopped using so she is strong. And she has a social worker friend who will know rehab names. She goes to make the call. Carly hopes she did not come between Dan and Jen, but they are more concerned with looking after her. Dan gives her a hug and promises it will get better. She whispers she hopes so ... - Quinn walks along the pier and runs into Vivian, who slaps him across the face for his betrayal and calls him a miserable excuse of a son! She saw him save the woman he promised to help her destroy, the same one who murdered his cousin. "How could you do this to me?!" Pause. - At the house of Kiriakis, Brady has a visitor. Tis legal advisor Justin. Justin advises Brady to put the drink down and listen. Sonny informed him of his meeting with EJ. This is not between him and EJ! He rages this is not what Uncle Victor wanted. This is not how he does business and besides, Brady is no Michael Corleone. Brady rudely retorts he will not back down. - At the Cheatin Heart, Nicole and Tay disagree about what happened. Nicole snaps at her sister not to be self-righteous. Not with her! She calls her a hypocrite. Tay reminds her that Brady beat EJ unconscious and EJ took the high road. Nicole snaps he is also responsible for Fay's death. Tay accuses her of whispering in EJ's ear to go after Brady and therefore she is the one responsible for this BLOOD WAR! The pair continue to disagree until Taylor storms off ... - In the hospital, replay of shirtless Chad, faithful Abigail at his side, as he repeats it is not too late for himself or EJ to get out. Someone else could have been hurt and for what! EJ realizes he was traumatized ... Chad interrupts and mentions how he must cringe in that family. Is it what he wants? EJ admits it is not. Chad suggests they both walk away before it kills them. EJ patiently explains they will protect him, as he is family. However, he has been his father's son longer and will therefore not choose! Chad stands up and emotionally lets him know he is moved he considers him a true brother. He tries to convince EJ to give up the family. EJ makes a few snide remarks and saunters out. Chad and his girl Abigail embrace. - Elsewhere, Victor has a sarcastic newsflash for Stefano. It is too late! Meanwhile, Maggie sleeps on. Stefano attempts to reason with him and points out an eye for an eye never works ... - At the DiMera mansion, Kate picks up her keys and departs, looking like a woman on a mission. She heads for the hospital and tells Victor that Stefano is right. Revenge will not work. The Greek tycoon doubts the sincerity of his proposed truce. Kate laments she does not want to attend anyone's wake! Moments later, Hope and Lexie enter with the news of Maggie's wishes. The Greek tycoon wants to challenge it in the courts but alas there is no time. Hope woefully offers to give him a few moments alone with the woman he loves. She kisses her, cries she loves her, and walks out. Victor takes a seat by her side. He laments he had tried to shield her from such a thing and was naive enough to think that he could. This is simply too high a cost! - Hope approaches Lexie, who is standing with Kate and Stefano. She spoke to Melissa and it is time. The two women walk out together. Kate is sorry. So is Stefano. - Hope returns to the patient's room with Dr. Lexie, who will remove the breathing tube. Victor kisses Maggie. He and Hope are asked to step outside. Lexie touches Maggie's hair and then proceeds to remove the ventilator ... - Outside the room, Kate tries to encourage Victor. She might be able to breathe on her own. He is pessimistic. Stefano is sorry. He brings up the peace offering. The Greek tycoon coldly retorts the woman he loves is dying, so the peace offering and safety of others is the last thing he cares about at present. He walks away. EJ has overheard and approaches fatha with a suggestion ... - Down at the pier, Quinn tells Viv she was not honest about poor Carly, who needed saving. He insists it was the right thing to do. He believes fate brought Carly to him and it was his destiny to do the right thing for once! Viv scoffs ... - At the hospital, Abigail praises Chad, who thinks what he said to EJ made no difference. However, everything changed cos he could have lost her today! Abigail wonders if he really means he will leave the DiMera crime family. He brings up Maggie and declares he does not want that situation to ever happen to them. - Meanwhile, EJ advises Stefano to talk to Victor. The phoenix drawls nothing has worked. Stefano and Kate head for Chad's room. He is ready to bring his son home. Chad, however, drops a bombshell. "I can't live with you anymore ...!" Read Part 2 - click here! |
