PART 1 - Dan escorts a blindfolded Jen into a romantic room, where flowers, champagne, and a large bed await. She gasps in amazement and kisses him she loves it. She teases that for an old guy, he has great moves. He nuzzles her neck and murmurs someone has to teach these kids how it is done. He lifts her as music is heard, and carries her to the bed. The clothes come off and they start to make love. "Kisses like rain," sings the singer, "fall over me agaaaaain." The only thing lighting up the room are the lit candles which bear witness to their togetherness ... - Maggie staggers and Mel helps her onto her bed. The redhead is still wobbly. Maggie smiles she is being well treated at Victor's house. Mel is glad they are looking after her. Maggie asks about Carly. Mel updates her that the doctor said she was working hard to get better. She will visit her tonight and admits she is plenty nervous. They embrace. - Sitting outside on a bench, Carly looks at Nicholas' photograph and complains to the nurse that he left without saying goodbye. He hates her, she thinks! Nicholas later returns and announces it was a mistake for him to venture to Salem in the first place. Carly disagrees. Nicholas confesses he realized it was too much when they started talking about his father. He cannot hide his anger and the feelings overwhelm him. Carly wishes she could make him understand. He does, but to hear her say that killing him was the only way upset him terribly. "He was my father!" And she is his mother, who killed him. That is all he can think when he looks at her. Carly wonders if her son will ever be able to forgive her. He glares at her. He does not think so. Carly is devastated. - At the DiMera mansion, Kate is on the phone with Stefano, cooing she misses him and will be curling up with a book this evening. She now exits with her briefcase, smartly dressed, clearly a woman on a mission ... She soon joins Victor at the Kiriakis mansion and is anxious to hear his response to her proposal. Is he ready to jump back into bed with his ex-wife? Enter Maggie, clearing her throat. Kate greets her, but appears miffed to hear she has a room there. However, she forces a smile. Victor insists the redhead stay, as he has no secrets from her. He hopes she will stay for good, as that would be a dream for him! - At the pub, Kinsey remarks Chloe is happy with her cupcake. Chloe explains her good mood is due to her live video visit with Parker. Things are looking up. She now gets an unexpected call and exclaims this cannot be happening! The Brookville Club was flooded from a broken pipe and will be shutting down indefinitely. Her only legitimate income is all gone. She will never get her boy if she is late on her rent and bills. But how to make money? Enter Quinn. Chloe stares. Kinsey does not want her to go back to that seedy world, as there is a lunatic on the street, attacking hookers. It is too dangerous and she could be killed! Chloe sighs without her son, she is already dead. She stands up. Kinsey is unable to stop her. Chloe advises her to leave. She does. Chloe now approaches Quinn and wants to talk. They sit at a table. Chloe explains she needs work. He blinks and reminds her she had said she wished to quit. That was then, this is now. He drawls he does not want any of his girls in the line of fire. Until the attacker is caught, he is out! - In bed with the fair Jen, Dan the man pops the cork and they drink champagne together. He recalls how that kid called him old. Jen quotes George Bernard Shaw. "Youth is wasted on the young." They discuss the old days. Her dream was to go to the prom with teen heartthrob Leif Garrett. Dan's dream was to own a transam.. However, Dan now knows only love matters. He muses there is no other woman he would want to spend the rest of his life with. Jen blanches and asks if he is proposing to her. Dan grins nervously and jokes guys do that with a ring. Jen laments she overreacted yet again. Dan wants to clarify. Even though he is not ready for marriage yet ... Jen assures him she is happy. He suspects she is scared. Jen admits after the unresolved things with Jack, she is not ready either. He assures her he was just talking in the moment. Jen likes that he is real, that he says what he thinks when he feels it. She giggles she is confused. He calls her cute. They decide to have some more champagne so he gets out of bed to pour them some. Jen's eyes flicker. - At the Kiraikis mansion, a power meeting is underway. Sitting with Brady and Victor as Maggie watches, Kate argues the time is ripe for Countess Wilhelmina Cosmetics to be revived. Maggie points out she and Billie were the original investors and she thinks it is a wonderful idea. Victor wonders why Kate has brought this idea to him instead of Stefano. Kate pauses ... - Back at the garden of the rehab center, Carly emotionally tells Nicholas she will not give up on him. He admits despite everything, he is unable to see past what she did. She suggests time will heal the wounds. He bitterly doubts it and adds it is best if he keeps his distance. He cannot stay here or return. Carly has a horrible feeling that she will lose him forever. He does not want that but knows not what to do with his anger.The situation is not good for either of them. Therefore, he will go back to Europe and stay far away. Carly cries and begs him not to go. Nicholas urges her to get well, blinks back the tears, and walks away. Carly lets out a hurt little sound. Her heart is breaking. - Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Kate explains she wants this to be her project. And she wanted to make this offer to Victor. He calls that horse manure and concludes Stefano already turned her down, which is why she really came to him. Kate starts to explain herself ... - Back at the center, Mel runs into Nicholas and nervously introduces herself. "I'm Melanie, your sister." This will be a game changer ...
