| Friday, December 25, 2009 All rights reserved. Link Only A CHRISTMAS STORY - The newly engaged Phillip and Melanie bask in their togetherness. When she hands him a box with sunglasses, etc., he talks honeymoon. Mel, however, is not sure she could take the time off, being a junior nursing student. He replies she will be Mrs. Phillip Kiriakis. No worries. He makes a snide remark about bed pans, Mel will hear no such talk and informs him she feels she is doing good at the hospital. Said hospital soon calls and summons the student nurse to work. Oh well. They will have to celebrate their happy news another time ... - At DiMera mansion, Elvis tells Stefano that grandson Johnny has been left with his mother. The phoenix is unable to conceal his displeasure. EJ retorts this is not going to be Johnny's home until he is gone anyway! The phoenix rages that Elvis has no right to claim this is not Giovanni's home! He adds he had nothing to do with Sydney's disappearance and refers to Sami as that b*tch. EJ righteously reminds him that she is, in fact, little Johnny's mother. Stefano growls that even snakes have mothers. He goes on to call the heir apparent a heartless ingrate and accuses him of siding with the Bradys against him. Elvis defends Sami by pointing out she lied because she was afraid of Stefano. He adds he even lied to his own son. Stefano regains his composure and declares it is Christmas. Elvis, however, has no interest whatsoever in any gift or good cheer from him, and walks out. Stefano thinks he is a fool. Kate soon appears and announces she might have a special gift. One of hope. - At the house of Kiriakis, guests arrive for the K Christmas. Vivian makes a few choice comments about an opera singing slut called Chloe when Dan introduces her to his beloved, then claims she is sorry, as she hadn't realized she was THAT Chloe! Enter Victor, who notes Viv has put her foot in her mouth yet again. Chloe takes it well and Viv makes nice. Brady is not impressed. When Viv offers to help plan Dan and the lovely Chloe's imminent wedding, she is told that a date has not been set. Oops! Daniel suggests everyone have a drink. Vic turns his attention to Brady and asks if Arianna will be joining them. Brady snaps NO, leading Victor to wonder if there be trouble in paradise! Viv now proceeds to discuss Carly with Dr. Dan, pretending she appreciates how he helped get her back on the hospital staff. Brady eventually takes off and Viv asks Chloe to help her in the other room, leaving Victor and Daniel alone together. The doc has sensed something is not right with Brady. Vic complains about him dating Arianna, the drug dealer. Dan is doubtful she is a drug dealer. Enter Phillip, with a big announcement he wants to share. When Vivian and Chloe reappear, he tells the group that he and Melanie have just gotten engaged. The Greek tycoon responds with sarcasm. Dan, Chloe, and Viv offer their heartfelt congratulations. Victor drinks and glares. Kate and hubby Stefano now sweep into the mansion together. She is optimistic as Phillip has requested her presence. Stefano and Vivian exchange charming greetings laced with undertones. Dan ushers Chloe out of there away from Kate but fast! Phillip informs mama Kate of his engagement. Her face falls. Vivian gleefully supports "son" Phillip.Stefano encourages his speechless bride to make a toast. She puts on a brave face and wishes the prodigal son happiness. - Chez Sami, she and Rafe discuss the vigil. According to papa Roman, a lot of leads have resulted. Ring ring! Tis Rafe's FBI pal, with some news. Turns out the feds think they may be closing in on someone.Time will tell. Sami is elated. She later plays with Johnny as Rafe awaits an update. When Arianna drops by, she learns the good news - that the FBI have a lead. Rafe once more promises they will get Sydney back ... EJ shows up with Christmas gifts. He lashes out at Rafe for not keeping him up to date, once Sami tells him of the FBI lead. Rafe drawls there was nothing really to tell. The two men argue. Sami and Ari intervene. Elvis apologizes for flying off the handle.He spends some time with Johnny, who is excited to see daddy. Rafe later receives word and admits to Sami the lead does not appear to have led anywhere. One battle lost, but they still have a war to win. They snuggle on the sofa. Sami only wishes Nicole could remember exactly which woman's voice it was that she heard ... - Arianna returns home, only to find Brady and a gift waiting for her. They get up close and personal, happy at last, and kiss and kiss ... - Meanwhile, Anna addresses Tony's photograph, seeking his assurance that she did the right thing last night ... Knock knock! Tis a box she was expecting. Anna is pleased and she knows Sydney will love it! She sings to the baby and then speaks of last night's errand. It is only a matter of time ... - At the hospital, Dr. Nath and Steph prepare for the annual kids party. When Mayor Abe and first lady Lexie arrive, Theo excitedly hands Steph a present that was left under the tree. It is for her. Steph has a look. She thanks Nath for the calendar, a tad surprised it is for 2009! He suggests she go through it. She does just that and soon realizes December 31 has been marked. The young doc evidently wishes to take her out on a New Year's eve date, to Chez Rouge. Matter of fact, he has already made the reservation! Smiles all around. Maggie later arrives and asks Nathan to read the Christmas story to the kids - in honor of Tom Horton. Nath is not sure he could fill those shoes, but Steph encourages him. He accepts. Mayor Abe entertains the crowd. Nathan proceeds to read the Christmas story. The kids are spellbound. Enter Mel. As Nathan reads, Tom is remembered. Maggie gets Silent Night started. Everyone sings along. Melanie gets emotional looking at Nath, who appears to have noticed her ring .... - Elvis is back home at DiMera mansion, where an envelope awaits. He opens it and proceeds to read Anna's unsigned note.. "I have your daughter. Instructions to follow. Tell no one. I am watching you!" He stares at the message in disbelief. Ominous music is heard ... Next on Days of Our Lives "Phillip doesn't care about you and Melanie doesn't care about you!" Kate angrily tells Viv. "I want you to stay away!" Carly exclaims to Bo. "I want out," whispers Hope. Justin gives her a look. |
