He fibs he was speaking with his father cos he wanted to be able to pay her rent. Julie insists no rent and he can stay as long as he likes. Matter of fact tonight she wants him to join the Horton tradition ... Jack and JJ stare when Jen updates them on Doug doing time as per Julie herself, who was not even rattled ... - Holly loves the expensive perfume she got from her father. Doug smiles he understands and reveals he and his father were always at odds so when he found out about the other side of the family, he went looking for a new connection. He changed his last name to Williams and came to Salem. Alas he came to town too late cos Doug was already gone. He drowned his sorrows and wound up in a fight. The Chicago PD can confirm this. Julie insists there is no need and defiantly hugs him as Jack, Jen and JJ stares at the sight ... Shawn reminds Maggie that K is gone but the love she and Victor shared lives on. The redhead gets emotional ... Sara loves the red heels that represent she is back on her feet as per Horton history ... Holly wonders what is the matter. Tate stammers he has somewhere to be Friday and lies he will be visiting his grandparents in California. He apologizes and she believes him hook line and sinker. The redhead blows Victor's portrait a kiss as they breeze out the door ... - Back at busy Horton house Shawn introduces himself to Doug while Jack, Jen, and JJ enjoy their holiday beverages ... Shawn notes he and Doug carry on their grandfather's name. Julie cuts their convo short, claiming she needs Doug to help carry the appetizers ... The rest of the gang greet Shawn, who suggests he and JJ might be partners if he comes back to the Salem P.D. JJ is still mulling over his options. Maggie, Holly, Xander and Sara arrive. Doug and Holly seem a tad thunderstruck when they see each other for the first time ooooo ... Tis soon time for Julie to make her heartfelt Horton speech and announce the hanging of the Horton ornaments. Tis an eternal honor to be in the club that is not taken lightly. Julie asks Doug to hang his grandfather Doug's ... Later as Jack pours himself tea Xander is sorry he did not find Abigail and hopes all is well at the Spectator. Jack wishes his old buddy a merry Christmas and they hug, friends again in the spirit of goodwill ... Julie claps her hands and asks JJ to get started with the tradition Doug loved so dearly. Horton house fills with the singing of Come Let us Adore him ... - Jack, Jen and JJ later continue their conversation about new Doug. Jen doubts his sincerity and is worried about leaving Julie at his mercy. JJ announces he has decided to stay and join the Salem PD. Jen is relieved he will be able to keep an eye on the situation ... Maggie bids Xander and Sara goodnight back at the Kiriakis mansion. Xander wants a dance with his beloved in her fetching shoes. They slow dance ... Holly makes her last wish and blows out the candle on the cupcake from Tate. He has a confession to make . He has long loved her. Holly gasps she loves him back and they kiss like there is no tomorrow ... Alone again, Julie takes a trip down memory lane when she gave Doug a watch for Christmas.
