He stammers he has family in Salem. She scoffs he is really thinking of Stephanie ... Seth informs mad Kayla and stunned Steph that the almost bankrupt Salem Hospital will soon shut its disinfected doors forever... Joy confronts Alex for kissing Stephanie and wanting a future with that girl not her ... Kayla wonders what happened. Seth states the board did not want to keep financing the sinking ship the hospital became with all the costs ... Leo is heartbroken about being fired. She weeps she loves him and then he kisses her ... - Back at the hospital Steph is working the phone and gets said hospital to give her 24 hours before the closing news goes viral. Alex arrives and she updates him on the situation ... Seth shows up to get his last paycheck from B and S and sighs he is heading to L.A. since it is now his only day job. Leo wonders ... Holly was not expecting to see Doug at the pub. He updates her on Leo getting fired. That means he has no assistant job. Holly offers to return his money. Not necessary cos Leo was nice enough to cancel the debt. Doug is still committed to getting a job to buy back Julie's necklace. He now hears about Sophia and Tate's important adoption meeting ... Sophia sighs she is too anxious for a snack while she and Tate wait. She gets a call from Ellen. The couple suddenly changed their mind. Tate reassures her they will find the right couple ... Alex stands with his arms around Steph and wonders how Kayla is taking the tragic hospital news. She wonders what he wanted to tell her. He and Joy are over. She did the breaking up ... Joy is on the phone with unseen unheard Nancy not even sure she is going to L.A. ... Back at the square Sophia starts to panic about her mother making things hard. Tate suggests she keep the faith and here come Johnny and Chanel. The intros are made. Johnny asks if all is well. Tate complains a couple cancelled their adoption plans. Sophia assumes it was cos of her mom and excuses herself to work. Johnny is sorry. Tate feels for her and alludes to still trying with Holly. Johnny assures him he will muddle through somehow. Chanel tries to make him feel better too ... - Back at the pub Holly admits to Doug she really wants to be with Tate. He is supportive and she offers to help him find another job ... Leo is troubled about the hospital closing and Marlena no longer being there for all who need her. Seth wants a bigger part on the show. Leo sighs he cannot help cos he was fired. Seth wonders what he intends to do. Leo has no idea ... Steph is sorry to hear that Joy was already aware she and Alex had reunited. Alex gives her a very public kiss and wants to make plans. Alas she will be up all night working on strategy. He offers to help, steals another kiss and off they go, not realizing that Joy is standing nearby in her sad little robe staring and glaring ... - Seth realizes he must ask Abe and Kate for his final check. He tells Leo the new producers were fools to let him go. Leo is grateful and wishes others felt the same way. Seth dismisses the haters and suggests he will get a Daytime Emmy one day. He wishes his friend good luck and goes. Leo feels better ... Back at the pub Holly suggests Doug apply at the Brady pub. The pay is low but the tips can be good. Here comes Tate, who unhappily states the adopting couple backed out last minute ... Meanwhile Johnny and Chanel discuss Tate and Sophia at the square. He remembers when Chanel was pregnant and she admits she remembers it often. The miscarriage was tough. He remembers Kayla said to wait six months before trying again.
