Roman and Kate insist Roman must stay. Harris wants to talk Lucas ... Teresa joins Alex and Brady at the station. Rafe is appalled to hear Tate was attacked and heads down to look into it. Teresa tells Alex to call Justin and arrange a transfer for Tate. Suited Justin arrives ... Paulina has just finished a coughing spell in her office when the boys from the Spectator arrive. She has a hard time suppressing it. Paulina is perturbed about the drug problems and allows herself to be recorded. But the coughing continues. She points out how strong opioids are and keeps coughing. The guys stop recording and give her water ... Justin snaps Alex is not Tate's parent and angrily addresses his concerns. He exclaims he was as ruthless as was possible. Alex notes it was not enough. Justin suggests he remove himself from the case. Alex agrees. Justin storms out and Alex boasts he has a shark lawyer on standby. Brady has his doubts but Alex calls his contact Rodney ... - Kate returns from Billy's New year call. Roman updates her on Harris' appealing angle and she wonders. Harris offers to get her good son Lucas released. She agrees to consider. Harris goes to get the authorization ... Kate asks Roman his opinion. He reasons Lucas was smart and resourceful with how he got himself, John and Steve to Orpheus. Kate worries still. Roman reminds her Lucas could get his life back ... Paulina makes light of something she is getting over that is not contagious. She should rest her voice before the big day tomorrow. Her phone rings and she does not answer. Everett hopes she will get better and departs with Chad ... Brady complains to Rafe he needs a lawyer he can trust. Justin appears and Brady insists he is the best. Tate is his son and he is in charge not Alex ... Roman trusts Harris and suggests he and Kate look at the benefits. Lucas would get a chance to come home to family. Elegant Kate agrees to take Harris to see him and makes the call. She will head to Statesville with him. Harris thanks her. Roman believes Lucas did his time and wants his beloved Kate's boy home. She takes her love's hands and emotionally thanks him ... - Paulina assures herself she is alright but the coughing continues. She returns the call from her specialist's office. Tomorrow is a big day with the Martin Luther King celebration but the doctor needs to see her in person. It sounds intense ... Chad and Everett were impressed with Paulina but Everett noticed she ignored that call, which was from University Hospital ... Rodney the Chicago lawyer has hung up on offensive Alex. Brady comes in and announces he wants Justin on the lead. Alex admits his lawyer said he can do nothing more than Justin did. Brady implores Justin to stay on. Teresa agrees. Justin is back and demands Alex be respectful. Alex agrees. Justin gets going and Teresa tells Alex from now on she and Brady will discuss the strategy. They are Tate's parents.
