She is taking her teddybear and Little Women to her today. EJ brings up seeing his wife with Eric at the hospital. He knows she needs his support as well since he was once Holly's father. However, EJ was troubled to see their embrace. Nicole shuts him up ... Woeful Eric enters sleeping Holly's room and whispers hi sweetheart ... Brady and Teresa are at the station together waiting. She appreciates his dark chocolate gift and inhales the smell. She wonders how Tate is and her mother instincts make her worry. She takes Brady's hand and he takes hers ... Cool bearded Lucas gets a strangely timed surprise visit from elegant Kate. She tells him someone wants a word and here comes Harris ... Chad is throwing a football with Thomas, who likes their guys night. Papa Chad gives him a proud hug as Alex watches the poignant park scene ... - Brady jokes about planning a jailbreak for Tate. Teresa teases she would drive the getaway car ... Nicole reassures insecure EJ and admits Eric was there for Holly Christmas Eve as well. EJ seems unpleasantly surprised and confesses he heard about Holly being drunk from Johnny. Nicole explains she and Holly ran into Eric the day after and he recognized the hungover signs. EJ now confesses that Rafe earlier said Holly's high school friends admitted to smoking weed with her ... Lucas has not forgotten that Harris wanted to shoot Hope. Harris had been brainwashed by Megan. Kate reminds her son he also saved her from Dimitri's smelly fish boat. Lucas agrees to listen to the dude, who declares he joined the Salem P.D. and wants to make a deal. Lucas gives him a doubtful stare. Very doubtful indeed ... - Alex hands Chad's son the ball he dropped and shows him how to hold it. Chad thanks him and Thomas invites him to stay and play monkey in the middle. Alex agrees to be the monkey ... Teresa believes that she and Brady were clear about their no drugs rules and wonders whether Tate broke said rules. Brady notes they cannot know. They now wonder whether boarding school was a bad idea. Brady cries maybe he was not a dad who knew his son as he believed ... Nicole sighs at least weed is legal in Salem. EJ reminds her one must be over 21. Nicole wonders whether her daughter would have taken something more and remembers when she saw her take pills ... perhaps aspirin. EJ argues it was likely aspirin. In addition, Holly's experimentation with weed does not mean she is an addict. Nicole calls Tate a good kid but EJ still has his doubts. Nicole now wonders whether her daughter is not so innocent after all ... - Eric sadly sits at sleeping Holly's bedside, remembering once upon a time when she was his little girl. He regrets he left her and her mom for Africa. Being her dad was more important ... Lucas is suspicious of the mysterious deal. Harris updates him on the drug epidemic, how they have reason to believe the head of the operation is in Statesville so he needs someone on the inside to gather intel. Lucas lowers his voice and calls him crazy. The last snitch was hauled out in a body bag! Harris argues he has helped before like with Orpheus and he did great work. That was cos he assumed Orpheus offed his mother. His informant days are done! Harris offers him his freedom if he helps again ... Alex is now on a park bench with Chad discussing parenting. Alex brings up Teresa's kid, He does not know the lad well and admits he may have blown his relationship with Teresa ... Teresa woefully wonders whether she is the parent who failed their son ... Nicole argues if Holly and company were using more powerful stuff they would not have said so to the cops. Tis time to get to the hospital. She will see EJ at the car. EJ sighs to himself, now torn that Tate might have been truthful after all ... - Chad gives lost Alex advice after he complains about Teresa making him leave, and how he blew his relationship with Justin ... Brady blames himself for not being around enough. Teresa smiles Tate knows he is always available. They remember how happy their son was that fateful night. Brady wishes he had kept his eye on him. Teresa totally breaks down and Brady holds her as she weeps on his strong shoulder ... Lucas is assured that Harris already spoke to Madam Mayor. He is tempted but cannot risk his life. Kate praises her son and starts to usher Harris out. Having seen Kate's tears, Lucas suddenly seems to change his mind ... Nicole goes to find a nurse and will meet EJ in Holly's room. When EJ steps into said room he finds former father Eric back at the girl's bedside. Nicole walks in and Eric explains he stayed with Holly since he heard she and EJ went home for a break. EJ offers to get coffee. Nicole insists he stay and so does Eric, who calls him Holly's stepdad ... Brady praises Teresa for doing her best as Tate's mom. She is grateful and praises him as a loving papa. He believes Tate is innocent. Teresa agrees ... Kate tries to stop Lucas but he was listening when she said the family misses him. Harris asks for a word alone cos there could be blowback about this meeting. Kate reluctantly leaves. Harris tells Lucas about Holly's predicament and needs him to save kids like her. He promises to protect him as much as he possibly can and hopes he is in ... - Lucas pauses and agrees. He also makes Harris promise to protect him. Agreed. Kate comes back to get Harris and senses they made a deal. She warns Harris to keep her son safe and will contact her lawyer. Harris suggests he put on a show just in case. Lucas yells and refuses to be a rat - but this is part of the act his life has now become ... Chad updates Alex on how hard it was to deal with being a DiMera but he will make it through his drama too. Thomas comes back as his friend left and another symbolic round of monkey in the middle ensues ... Brady suggests he and Teresa prove Tate is innocent and never stop believing in their son. She swears to do so and offers him half her chocolate ... EJ stands by Nicole as she sits at Holly's side. Eric is standing by the wall. Alas the nurse told Nicole there was no change. EJ explains he contacted the Italian clinic that brough him back from the brink and they sounded positive they could help. Nicole gets nervous. EJ promises to hire a physician to accompany Holly. Nicole will speak to Kayla. EJ thanks Eric for supporting Holly and Nicole. Eric suggests they pray together. They clasp hands and he asks the good Lord to help Holly have a healthy speedy recovery.
