She agrees to speak to Paulina and brings up her file ,,, - Xander suggests they have been squandering money at the paper and wants to talk numbers. Chad is testy. Xander refers to the $5000 withdrawal that was unaccounted for. Everett explains it was for him to be able to pay off informants. Xander believes a few bottles of gin would have been better. Before the conflict can continue Leo sweeps in and takes over with his usual panache. Xander notes at least Leo brings in money instead of wasting it like Chad and Everett. Leo is pleased as punch to be on the boss' good side ... Steph babbles about Spectator Everett and Chad. She is on good terms with them both and believes they will be able to snag some positive publicity for the bistro. They are clients of hers. Stefan approves and adds he and Chad are on good terms. He decides to pay his brother as well as Gabi a visit. He kisses Ava goodbye and Steph seems surprised by the seemingly random smooch ... Sarah meets with Paulina, Chanel and Abe. She reminds her the cancer is both treatable and curable. Paulina has been reading and Sarah suggests only reputable sites. Paulina is already aware she will need the thyroid removed. Sarah assures her she can still life a full long life so long as she takes her daily medication to replace the hormones her body will no longer be able to produce. The surgery is straightforward ... but when Sarah mentions possible complications Paulina gets worried all over again ... - Ava asks Stephanie about her social life. Her job is top priority. Ava knows about her secret sleepover with Harris. Stephanie stares ... Everett and Chad praise Leo's article as does Xander. Leo begins to blush. Xander wonders what he has for today. He found a councilman's dropped phone with his racy photos. Everett is against it. Xander agrees to go that route ... unless the guys are expecting some DiMera cash. Chad quips why not Kiriakis cash. Stefan walks in with his empowering mustache and wonders what he interrupted. Chad wonders what he wants. A word with his brother ... Steph is already aware that Harris confided in Ava about that night and assures her she regrets it. She drank too much, believes she kissed first and insists it went no further with the great guy. Ava replies he was not right for her and fibs she was already seeing Stefan behind his back. Steph gasps he is married. Ava points out she is in prison, declares she is done with Harris and gives her permission to see him. Steph states she needs no one’s permission, has no romantic interest in Harris and suggests they return to the topic of business. Ava Vitali agrees, but still eyes her like a snake... - Sarah states nothing spread to Paulina's other lymph nodes. Her symptoms are normal and soon they will schedule her surgery for the nodule removal. Paulina is in a hurry for that. Sarah believes it could be this week. Abe asks how long she must remain in hospital. A few days. Paulina anxiously asks the survival rate. The five year survival rate is over ninety percent. Very good odds indeed. Paulina wishes Sarah could be her doctor ... Stefan has a private word with Chad and complains about the bad press which is unfair as the cops found no proof against them. He reminds reluctant Chad he was once wrongly accused of being the necktie killer. He must remember how unfair it was to be villified ... Sarah is flattered but feels Paulina should stay with her specialist. She is here anytime to answer her questions or talk. She returns to her rounds and lets her know her medication is ready. Abe, Chanel and Paulina share another family hug ... Chad steps back into the Spectator office and admits he agreed to keep the bistro name and drug overdose out of the raid story. Everett is outraged. Chad pulls rank and bellows to get back to work. The baby cries and he suggests Xander stay in his own lane. Xander tells mate to keep it down and departs with his daughter. Everett talks integrity. Chad orders him to just do his job ... - Stephanie and Ava are shaking on their PR deal when Stefan returns with the great news that Chad was on board with not mentioning the bistro in the Spectator story. Steph is relieved and gets going to prepare her budget proposal. Ava and Stefan fake kiss again. Steph leaves and they marvel what amazing liars there are. She asks about his visit with Gabi. Stefan heard through the grapevine that Lucas got beaten up by Clyde's thugs who thought he ratted them out. Lucas will be keen to get rid of Clyde now. He adds Gabi agreed with their fake affair as a cover within limits. Ava suggests a toast to the good news and then sees she missed a voice mail.
