Austin joins her and they talk about the exciting time. She is sure it is a girl but he talks boy. The mood is light. He would love a beautiful little Carrie too. He kisses her, then admits he is rather worried about her. Carrie gushes they have numerous decisions and she just wants a happy and healthy baby. Austin reminds her the doctor reassured them he or she was perfect. Carrie teases he could take his boy to Wrigley Field. He thinks he could do that with a girl, too. But he wants her to be like his beloved Carrie, just as honest. He holds her hand and tenderly tells her he has always loved that quality in her. She hopes he does not think she is a saint and warns him not to share that sentiment with her new boss. Lawyers are supposed to be tough! She stands up and accidentally bumps into a drawer. Austin is concerned. She sighs she is clumsy and sits on the bed, brushing her hair. Austin sits opposite her and notes they need a bigger place. Matter of fact, they need a house as soon as possible, with a nursery for baby, office for Carrie, an eventual swing set, and stable for their child. Carrie is amused he actually wants to give the child a pony. He will not let up about buying a house. Working girl Carrie, however, has no time to look. Austin goes over his shortlist. The first house he mentions she says is too far. The next one mentioned has unsightly floors. Austin offers to go househunting solo and take pictures to help narrow it down. He will present her with a report. Carrie readily agrees. Austin grins he cannot wait for their future to begin. They will be one big happy family. Carrie bravely smiles, her eyes filling with tears of sorrow. - Nicole prevents distressed Dan from charging into the empty house where his daughter was held. He is beside himself with worry. They hug. Rafe arrives on scene, pistol drawn, and enters to provide Bo with backup. Inside, Gabi is attended to by Hope as Bo and Chad stand nearby. Rafe rushes in and asks if she is alright. Chad just wants to know where Melanie is! Gabi’s head hurts. Hope assures her she will be okay. Rafe wants to know what exactly happened. Chad discovers Mel’s name scratched into the wall. Bo discovers the chloroform cloth and assumes Gabi was the victim of Mel’s abductor too. She looks down. Bo asks whether the creep used the chloroform to knock her out. She is not that sure and stammers it all happened so fast. Rafe demands to know what she was doing there in the first place. Bo is also curious. Why venture to this particular house? Gabi thinks fast. She claims she noticed the area they had circled on the map, decided to go looking, and approached this house. She knocked and it all happened fast. Someone grabbed her from behind. She suddenly asks Rafe whether she made it worse for Melanie. He does not know. But the guy might have run off with her. Enter dismal Dan, followed by Nicole. The doc wants a plan of action! How do they even know Mel was there? He spies her name scratched on the wall in white and complains they never bothered to tell him as he waited outside, fearing she could be dead. Bo is sorry. Rafe explains that the same guy grabbed his sister and they were trying to get some leads, hence the delay. Dan now becomes concerned about Gabi. She stares as Rafe states she was spared. Upon learning what happened, Dan is further upset. Bo urges them to leave the room, for the integrity of the evidence. He promises to keep him posted. Nicole suggests they contact the TV station. Bo advises Rafe to facilitate that. Chad promises to look after Gabi and Rafe takes his leave. She thanks Chad for being so nice. He is aware she too was a victim and hugs her. Bo informs Hope the lab is en route. She now comes across the note. They have a hot lead …! - In the strange underground caves of Salem, it is dark and cobwebs abound. Mel lies unconscious on the floor. She slowly opens her eyes. “Hello?” No answer. Her voice echoes slightly. “Hello?!” She tries with difficulty to sit up. It is not an easy task, as she has been tied to a huge pipe. Her masked abductor ominously emerges from the shadows. She stares at him in fear. Water drips in the background. Drip. Drip. Drip. She wonders why she is here. Andrew snaps at her to stop crying and admits this was not part of his game plan. She realizes they must be closing in on him. He denies it. She does not think either of them want to be there. He just needs to find a new game plan. She adds he has a card up his sleeve. That is, he could conceivably walk away. After all, she has no idea what he looks like, so he could easily disappear. She would not tell anyone anything. If only he would leave Salem now and release her! His response makes her heart sink … - Austin is searching the internet for their dream house as Carrie gets ready for work. He goes over her long list of requirements and teases her about wanting perks like granite countertops, which naturally slows down the process. They decide to compromise. She teases that given he is not working today, he will probably be shopping for a flat screen television. No, he plans to work out at the gym to get himself in shape for the new arrival. She sighs she will later need to lose a few pounds too but he smiles she will always be perfect to him. Carrie starts to look for the ultrasound photo, which he has already packed in his gym bag. He is the happiest man in the world and dips her for another kiss. - At the town square, Nicole gets off the phone. There will be a TV news bulletin on missing Mel within the hour. Rafe is impressed, then explains he must check in with the station. He encourages Dan to hang in there and saunters off. Nicole comforts Dan by reminding him his daughter is a fighter and she will survive, He woefully thanks her before stepping away to take a call from Carly. Rafe returns and discusses the situation with Nicole. They agree that being a parent is never easy. She exclaims OW. as the baby is kicking hard. Rafe chuckles and gets closer. She places his strong hand on her baby bump. Just then Carrie comes along and witnesses the tender moment. She stops in her tracks, gazes at Rafe, touches her own baby bump, frowns, and walks away. Carrie now heads for an unscheduled visit with Marlena, who perceives that she is troubled. Carrie assures her the doctor said the baby was perfect. Marlena smiles she is so pleased. Carrie adds Austin keeps making plans for the future. Marlena encourages her to keep going. She now confesses she feels guilty and wonders about the stress. Marlena points out the baby is fine. Carrie shakes her pretty head. “But I’m not!” - Bo and Hope examine the note the kidnapper left behind, then notice a phone number on the other side.
