Abe goes over the seating arrangement with elegant Marlena. She assures him Lexie would love it. Abe remarks the cause meant a great deal to her and so he is hoping for a good turnout. Marlena is sure it will be a smashing success. Everyone knows that Abe gives good party! The mood is light. John saunters in with a cheerful greeting. He smells a file and grins the news smells like victory and there is nothing sweeter! He managed to get hold of Joseph, the most important investor of DiMera Enterprises, to plead his case. The man agreed to give careful consideration to his proposal. Marlena updates Abe on his plan to take over the company. Abe is admittedly shocked ... that he did not do it sooner! John is expecting to hear from the heavy any minute now and wants to fill in Brady, who has not been returning his calls. All of a sudden, his phone rings. Tis the investor getting back to him. - Nicole and Dan are at the police station, alone on the computer. Dan is exasperated they have been reduced to working on the social network. Nicole thinks Mel might have posted something to someone. It cannot hurt to try. He sits on the desk and sighs he is sorry. She understands how he feels and holds his hand, promising to help as she can. Enter Maggie carrying a box. Dan hugs her and she cries she is not holding up well at all. Nicole explains they are searching for leads on the web. No luck just yet. Dan keeps his arms around his mother and she thanks Nicole for her help. Dan emotionally agrees. Meanwhile, down the hall, Rafe is impatiently waiting for the DNA results on EJ's gloves. Spencer reminds him one cannot rush the process and he seems to have his doubts about getting the evidence. Rafe, on the other hand, senses they will get what they need and will be able to throw EJ in prison for murder. He could not be any happier about it ... - Will is alone as he walks up to the safe behind the bar at the pub and puts his important documents in his bag. When he stands up, there lurks Lucas, who gives him a stern look from the other side of the bar. He wants to discuss his son's relationship with EJ. Will gets himself a coffee and airily suggests they talk about something else, like the Cubs, the weather, or how about his love life! Lucas sits him down and explains things have changed. Will gets sarcastic. Lucas informs him this is no joke. EJ is going down and he might go with him! Conspiracy charges or accessory after the fact! He could be guilty by association! Will calmly explains EJ is innocent. Lucas warns him the gloves were found at EJ's and he is certain they tested positive for gunshot residue! - At the apartment, Sami emerges from the bedroom looking pretty as a picture in her purple slip. She cannot believe Lucas left! A knock at the door leads her to believe he forgot his keys. She flings open the door, not to Lucas, whom she has invited back to bed, but to EJ, who looks her up and down with a grin. "Hello Samantha!" She bashfully covers herself with her arms. Sami hastily puts on a robe in a huff and accuses him of causing trouble. He teases he has seen her in far less. She asks what he wants. To see the children. She wonders if he wants to say goodbye, given what the police have on him. EJ repeats what he already said to her yesterday - he has no intention of going anywhere! He later sits and plays with Sydney, who wonders why daddy seems so sad. Sami thinks princess should get ready for gymnastics. She hugs daddy goodbye and flounces to her room. Sami sits with EJ and praises his performance. He claims he is happy. Sami, however, points out one should not lie to a liar. She confesses she is worried for him. He quietly states if he did not know betta, he would actually assume that she cared. She claims she wants him around for the children. EJ confidently notes the so-called evidence is circumstantial. Besides, he knows he did not do it. Sami understands why he cannot admit his worry even to himself. He must be terrified at the thought of losing his lavish lifestyle, family, and career. He blinks that shall not happen! - Rafe gets off the phone in his office and informs Spencer they have nothing yet. He decides to go see his sister. He is relieved she is alright. Spencer offers to help any way necessary. Rafe muses how one is never immune to police work and he feels for Daniel. Spencer sagely states at least the doc is not alone. - Down the hall, Maggie cries she brought spa records and contact lists. She just wants to find her Mel! Dan consoles her. Nicole reassures Dan again. Moments later, Rafe opens the door with an update. - As John talks on his phone, Marlena reminds Abe he has a meeting to attend concerning the fundraiser planning. He laughs he cannot wait for John's news and admits he is glad that bastard DiMera is dead. He would also love to see the look on his face about John taking over his company. He recalls how Lexie forgave him. Marlena points out John is related to the family too. Abe notes Theo will never be like Stefano and EJ. Lexie and John are very different. He speaks of his wife in the present tense as he wonders what to tell the world about her.Marlena assures him she and John will always be there for him and his son. He appreciates it. John is now off the phone. Marlena asks what the man said. John's eyes narrow. - Dan is dismayed to learn from Rafe that Bo and Hope have nothing concrete, and they are in the process of chasing down leads. Maggie cries they all should have done more. Dan wants them to remain strong and focused. The redhead agrees and after a hug, decides they must get back to work. Rafe will be down the hall. - Lucas solemnly shares with Will that EJ even failed the polygraph. The evidence is piling up and it is only a matter of time! Will jumps up and takes off to make a call. His bag falls to the floor. Lucas starts to pick it up. He has a look inside and pulls out the secret letter. He is verrrrrry interested ...
