Enter Carrie with a smile. He smiles back, pleased with the interruption. She announces she has news to share. They are moving to Switzerland. Rafe is at a loss for words. Carrie adds they are leaving Salem. Rafe stammers it is a big decision. She calls it the right one. He is surprised she does not plan to stay close to family but she reasons she and Austin need a fresh start, without distractions. Both of them stare at each other with tears in their eyes. Rafe concedes she is right. They declare they will miss each other. Carrie woefully states she must reconnect with Austin. Enter Roman. Carrie now tells him of her sudden move, as Rafe watches and pretends to be busy working. Roman is baffled she wants to be far away from the family now. Carrie explains she must do this for her family. She asks him to say he is happy for her. - At the condo, John does not get what Lucas means. Lucas grins this is a game changer. John opens the letter and informs Marlena it is from Alice to Stefano. He reads aloud. “Dear Stefano, I will spare you any unnecessary suspense and get right to the point. EJ is not your son!” John demands to know where Lucas obtained the damning document. Lucas explains Will had it. John is stunned and wonders if Junior even knows. Lucas is convinced he does. Marlena points out Will knows too and yet he told no one. He guarded the secret. John wonders why. Lucas laments he was protecting EJ. Marlena, however, fears perhaps Will had something to do with what EJ did … - At the mansion, Will scrambles to find the letter. EJ has no clue what he is so frazzled about! All he knows is he lost something. Exit Will in a hurry. EJ is standing by the window when he hears a noise and assumes William is back. No, tis Sami who noticed Will leaving in a hurry. She smiles she is there to save EJ’s life. He smiles right back, his interest piqued. He chuckles to let the salvation begin. Sami sits and brings up the surveillance cameras that are being installed all over Salem, as per Roman. EJ is thrilled and thanks and briefly kisses her, with a hug too. Sami giggles. EJ does not release her and moves his face closer to hers. Flustered Sami gasps he should call about the footage and steps back. EJ picks up his phone and orders his man to get the surveillance cameras from the corner where he dumped the gun. He wants him to use his discretion. Sami decides to depart but he wishes to further thank her. Sami becomes uncomfortable. She stammers she just did not want the kids to see their father get carted off to prison. He is pleased she believed in his innocence and gets closer again, She gasps for him to stop as she is with Lucas now. He knows but takes her hand and seductively gets closer. Sami’s cheeks are flushed. His mouth hovers closely over hers. Sami is not unaffected by his nearness She swoons. - At the office, Ian is on the phone, wanting to keep posted of any movement on the DiMera front. Kate approaches, having overheard. “What’s in it for you?” she suspiciously enquires. She reminds him he himself claimed he wanted no moresecrets between them. Ian lovingly touches her chin and coos he only wants to look after her, hence his keeping tabs on DiMera Enterprises. Kate recalls how he swayed Madison, as he swayed her. Ian insists he does not want her to be at Stefano’s mercy ever again, that is all. She suspects he is after a windfall for her and assumes he would want her to share. If he makes it happen, she will consider. Ian smirks. - Will races into the empty pub desperately seeking the lost envelope with Alice’s secret letter. Sonny is there and offers to help look for it. Will hopes they will find that letter or else both he and EJ are dead! - Marlena, John, and Lucas are on their way to meet Rafe at the station with the letter. Marlena comes to a stop in the town square and suggests they reconsider. They owe it to Will to talk to him first. Along come Ian and Kate. Insincere Ian invites them for lunch. John growls No and turns away. Ian wonders if he offended him. John turns back and tells him off. Ian taunts he must be lashing out as Brady fell off the wagon. He should help his son instead of attempting to take control of DiMera Enterprises. John drawls that is not his business but Ian insists it is. Lucas watches the intense exchange. Ian insists he has only Kate’s interest in mind, for she is Stefano’s widow. Lucas recalls how Stefano cut her off before he died. Ian insists he will rectify that. John doubts his white knight routine, especially after what he did to Brady. Ian drawls an addict always plays the victim. In his view, Brady is not being fair. Marlena is not impressed he himself is trying to play the victim. John warns him not to mess with his family. Ian remarks Stefano did and look what happened to him! John scoffs. Ian quips the police have gone down the wrong path with EJ as the prime suspect. Marlena orders him to stop with the accusations and calls him a misogynist bully. Ian leers Kate would not agree. The blonde haughtily retorts that that Madison chose Brady, who is a real gentleman. Ian sarcastically wishes John luck and departs. John tells Kate he hopes she knows what she is doing. Kate asks Lucas to call her for a talk and follows Ian. John now wants to know what Lucas knows about that clown. Lucas updates him. John hands Lucas the envelope and advises him to go ahead to the cop shop without him. He would like to look into this McAllister. Marlena intends to join him. Lucas decides to give the letter to Rafe on his own. When Marlena wonders if it is a good idea to forge ahead with the plan, he insists it will get EJ away from Will. - Will and Sonny are outside the pub searching through the garbage. Sonny wonders how bad it can be. Will laments if he does not find it and EJ goes to jail, he will kill him! Alas, they are unable to find it. Sonny wonders if someone else has it. Will nervously remembers that his dad was at the pub. Sonny suggests he might have found it and asks what was inside. Will laments if his dad has it, he will not give it back. Concerned Sonny asks his pal what the worst case scenario could be. Will suddenly realizes Lucas would take it to the cops and bolts. - Sami shoves EJ away and snaps she should have just called. There will not be a next time. He confidently drawls there always is. She nervously fishes the keys out of her handbag and then bumps into him. He grins. She takes a deep breath, holds his arms, and looks up at him. She pulls away and he suggests she admit she wanted to come and see him. After all, she could have conveyed the information with a telephone call. He teases he makes her anxious. She gasps it is because he keeps invading her personal space. He gets close again and wants to know why she reacts with him this way if Lucas means so much to her. Why is it that when their lives spin out of control, they wind up together? He moves in for a kiss but she insists she will not screw up what she has with Lucas. He teases like she did with Rafe! Sami stops and gives him a stare. She now proceeds to yell. They threw away their marriages for a mistake she cannot explain. EJ notes what happens between them is not rational and therefore defies explanation. But it does exist. He lifts her hand, caresses it, and tries to convince her to admit it … He believes she feels it too. Sami closes her eyes in rapture as he murmurs to just admit it. She raises her eyes, her face flushed. “Why are you doing this?” she whispers. He suggests being honest about what is going on. Sami now turns away and repeats it is nothing. Only disaster follows them. He suggests it might not be like that this time. She doubts it. Sami argues that they are not good together. “We are the opposite of good!” Matter of fact, they are both selfish and run over anyone who gets in their way.
