Here comes Chad and Leo updates him on his story possibilities. Chad does not want a story about Abigail's murderer who has now escaped. The scared kids are staying home. Leo is sorry. Chad will never forget finding Abigail and prays killer Clyde will be caught before he strikes again. He now asks Leo to do a real reporting piece and Leo is tickled pink. Chad is listening ... - Steve and Johnny come back with more boxes and discuss Clyde getting away after what happened to Tripp and Wendy. Steve suggests they get ready for the party. Johnny deals with the kitchen and Steve takes charges of the balloons ... The press including Leo are waiting as Abe and Kayla escort Paulina. Steve is staring at the balloons looking distracted as Johnny finishes the food set up. The guest of honor arrives and just loves the surprise welcome home. Kayla sees Steve staring into space ... Jada warns Harris that Ava is too high risk. Harris knows what he is getting into and insists Ava is a good person. Jada suggests he is ignoring the department code of conduct rule so he calls her out on her own ignoring of said code. She reasons she only bended the rules and suggests he stop protecting Ava, who should pay for what she did ... At the Paulina and Abe party Steve denies to sweetness that something is troubling him. He comes Leo with flowers begging for a front page Spectator scoop. Paulina agrees to give him a few minutes and praises his real reporting. Leo gets historic and gushy ... - Stefan compares chess moves to the game of life, which also requires strategy sometimes ... like a fallback plan. He thanks Chad cos this convo has given him clarity. He praises the good DiMera son and declares he wants to be a better man like him. Then he hugs him and goes on his way, a man now on a mission. Chad is bewildered by his behavior ... The Paulina and Abe party continues. The mimosas are handed out. Johnny and Chanel are elated. Leo asks Kayla for a comment and the medicine woman praises Paulina's comeback. He asks it if was a miracle. Pauline insists it was and Abe gives her a knowing look. They all raise their glasses to good karma. Paulina plans to use her second chance wisely. Johnny toasts his marvelous mother in law and all second that. Everyone loves Paulina. Leo gushes she is a gem and a hero. Abe calls her their light ... Chad sadly sighs at Abigail's picture. How he misses her! Alas Now he must return to work but tis hard having to deal with the Clyde story. He hopes the felon will rot forever in hell ... Harris is making a call when Stefan arrives at the station to turn himself in for drug trafficking and laundering Clyde’s blood money. Jada assumes Ava was also involved. Stefan says no but she found out and he ordered her to keep her mouth shut. He is ready to make a deal with the D.A. and stares at Harris, the man who made him keep Ava’s name out of the mess.
