Lucas visits Gabi at the infirmary and informs her Will is with Ari. He is hopeful about her release and apologizes for the past. Gabi is glad he came. Lucas anxiously admits he too is waiting for an important update ... Chloe writes to Lucas from her Mexican captivity. Theresa was killed and she knows she has to escape! Enter mean Miguel who snatches it and reads. He warns she will never be able to escape Mateo ... Marlena is elated to hear from John in Mexico. He drawls to doc he and Paul are making a plan to rescue Chloe and come home. She gushes they have got a wedding to plan. He knows it and will let nothing stand in their way ... At Kiriakis mansion Theresa returns with Tate from an outing and hugs him, tearfully promising to stay. She begs God to forgive her, as she also has Chloe on her mind. Maggie has overheard and suspiciously wonders what she did that would require forgiveness ... Eve has received flowers from John and Marlena to congratulate her on her engagement. But they are not from Brady, who now calls. Eve decides she needs his decision now - will he plan a future with her or Theresa! ... Miguel puts away the letter and suggests Chloe stick to singing. He warns Mateo would see it as a betrayal of his best guest. Chloe appeals to the father in Miguel about being separated from her son, whose father is not alive. She begs to call Parker and tell him she is alright. Miguel softens somewhat since he has a daughter ... Theresa fibs she wants forgiveness for leaving and gushes it is good to see Maggie. She eagerly suggests they lunch together. Maggie quips she has errands and coldly exits. Theresa takes Tate upstairs ... Phone Brady loves and misses Eve. Phone Eve sighs he loves her sis as well. Brady needs more time to deal with the nature of Theresa’s departure. Eve, however, will not wait forever and hangs up. Theresa asks Brady who he was on the phone with. Eve ... Maggie visits Eve, who is happy she came. The redhead was worried about her and her world being rocked by Theresa. She believes what she shares with Brady is beautiful and she should be the one. Eve emotionally thanks her ... Theresa gushes about going to the duck pond with Tate. Brady is happy to hear about it. She cries her little boy still cares. She weeps about wanting their family back and informs uneasy Brady he now has all the facts. So it would be best to let Eve go and stop leading her on as they are the ones that must be together ... Lucas confides in Gabi about Chloe’s predicament. Gabi is so sorry. Lucas knew she would not have left him of her own accord ... Meanwhile Miguel gives Chloe one monitored minute and hands her his phone, his gun drawn. Mateo opens the door and sarcastically wonders what is happening here ... Gabi and Lucas discuss Abigail and he assures her Abigail feels awful. Gabi changes the subject to Ari. Lucas tells her she is as tough as her mama and anticipates a happy reunion soon. Gabi is counting on it ... Brady woefully admits to Theresa that he is in love with Eve. She sniffles but she is supposed to be the love of his life and she had no choice when she left! Brady replies but things changed and he fell for Eve. His feelings for her are very real. Marlena now walks in surprised to see Theresa. Brady sighs long story. Theresa asks about John. Marlena lets Brady know that John and Paul are on a mysterious mission to rescue Chloe. Theresa’s face falls ... Miguel lies that Chloe was trying to use his phone. Chloe snaps he was going to let her call her son. Mateo pulls out his gun to end the relationship. Chloe screams and he shoots Miguel dead instead ... Brady gasps what has happened to Chloe? Marlena is missing the details but John and Paul will have more soon. Brady had no idea she was in any kind of danger! Theresa flashes back to Xander being present back at threatening Mateo’s compound and hastily excuses herself. Marlena now hears from Brady that Theresa left Salem for a reason and now Tate loves having her back. But ... Marlena finishes he is engaged to sister Eve. Brady sighs ... Eve assumed Maggie would be on Theresa’s side. Maggie the wise woman has noticed Theresa always gets involved with men who are dangerous and those around her face the fallout. She believes sober Brady does not need impetuous Theresa and tells Eve to fight for him! Then she hugs her. Eve is grateful and then gets to thinking ... Mateo is threatening Chloe when he gets a frantic call from Theresa, who warns him two men are coming for Chloe and for him but swears she did not send them! She begs him not to blame her and hurt her loved ones and hopes he will not hurt the two detectives either. Mateo appreciates the information and coldly ends the call. Then he informs Chloe someone will come clean up the Miguel mess and walks out ... Lucas is as relieved as Gabi that she will not have to go back to Statesville to face Raines’ girlfriend. He now gets the call from Justin and grins, since Gabi is about to go free at last ... Marlena is astounded to hear Theresa’s story from Brady, who praises her sacrifice. Marlena asks about Eve. He points out a part of him will always love Theresa but he loves and cannot give up Eve. Theresa has overheard from the other side of the door and she is not about to take it sitting down ... Lucas smiles the conviction is being overturned. Gabi cannot wait to see Arianna. Lucas goes to give Will and Ari the good news. Gabi smiles in relief ... Paul does his pre-fight warmup and admits to John he feels anxious. John offers to go it alone but Paul insists on having his back. John gives him his gun and announces ShowTime. Time to break into the compound. John explains to his less experienced son that the element of surprise is on their side ... Chloe gets Miguel’s knife from his pocket. Knock knock ... Back in Salem Theresa storms into Eve’s room and snaps to stop the selfishness. Eve scoffs so Theresa tells her Brady is in turmoil. Eve is giving him time. Theresa screams he wants her and and he just does not want to hurt Eve. She should step aside! Eve leers Theresa was the one who left. Theresa talks Tate. Eve warns she knows her well and she is no selfless girl. Theresa is only out for Theresa ... Brady praises Eve as the woman he can count on but then there is some history with Theresa. Marlena thinks he should follow his heart and not take too long. She was there once when she had to decide between John and Roman. Brady agrees he should decide soon so it does not get too messy ... Eve refuses to let Theresa drag Brady back into her world of schemes. Theresa counters Tate needs his parents under the same roof! Eve pauses ... Men in black Paul and John reach Chloe’s room and kick the door in, guns drawn. John looks in and whispers what the hell ... Gabi thanks God for answering her prayers but the her worst nightmare appears and warns against counting her blessings so soon ... Theresa tells unhappy Eve to do what is right. Here comes Brady. He has made his choice ... John and Paul notice the blood on the wall by the open window. Mateo now enters with his own gun in hand and taunts he has been expecting them.
