Chad is at the club dining with Abigail. He updates her on Gabi’s conviction being overturned. Abigail feels badly but Chad assures her Gabi is happy tonight. Meanwhile Rafe rushes into the infirmary to Gabi. The warden doubts her claim. He rages this was about revenge. Gabi gasps no so Rafe hushes her until he gets a lawyer ... Hope has been brought up to speed by Marlena about Abigail’s alter killing Andre. Hope adds but the future looks brighter. Marlena asks Hope whether she will be coming to her wedding with Rafe ... Steve summons Kate to the pub to discuss the bionic eye that is being developed by a company DiMera owns ... At the mansion bitter Stefan is surprised to see Kayla at his door seeking his help ... Kate has heard about the bionic eye project. Steve offers himself up for the trials so Kate explains she was sacked and Chad quit. Steve suggests she pull strings. She suggests he speak to Stefan. Steve would rather be blind than owe that devil any favor ... Stefan sits and slyly listens as Kayla explains the bionic eye project could be Steve’s only chance at sight. He reminds her of her earlier insults. Kayla would move heaven and earth for the man she loves ... As Chad chews, Abigail wonders how to make things up to Gabi. He tells her to give it time and she agrees to focus on the future. Here comes the real Dr. Laura and they hug ... Hope gushes she and Rafe just might get back together and she credits John and Marlena for making her believe in happy endings again. She wants to fight so no more annulment papers. Marlena smiles he loves her so. Hope loves him too hence her torment over his tryst with Sami ... Chad thanks the real Laura for coming. She wishes she had been able to come earlier. Jen listens as she lets them know she got the judge to agree Abigail can get her treatments with her grandmother. Jen now drops a bombshell that it would be with her in Boston for a few weeks. He demands Gabi save them time of an autopsy by confessing what was in that needle. Rafe disagrees. The warden warns dead Dianne had friends in the facility and walks away. Gabi panics and begs Rafe to believe her story ... Kate senses Steve is desperate to see. He sips his coffee and sighs he will manage. Kate complains it is not possible to get Stefan out of DiMera and he even vowed revenge on her for Vivian ... At DiMera mansion Kayla praises the potential of the bionic eye. Stefan drawls he plans to sell it to the government. Kayla offers to help him get paid sooner with hospital funding. Stefan scoffs he has eight zeros in mind. She feels philanthropy would help his tarnished image in town. Stefan smirks ... Abigail sits with Laura and notes her alter was nothing like her grandmother. She is filled with guilt over Andre. Jen tries to make her daughter feel better. Laura is sorry about her own bouts with mental illness. Jen admits she feared she might too suffer from it. Abigail weeps she was a lot luckier than her ... Hope is with Marlena when she gets a call that shocks her to the core. Ben Weston could be up for release. Marlena gasps how! Hope wants the monster locked up for good but he seemed to make a breakthrough with a doctor. Marlena reminds her that people do recover from mental illness even after they have done awful things. Just look at the case of Abigail ... Gabi recounts what happened with the now dead Diane to Rafe. Someone else stabbed her in the neck! Rafe wishes there was a witness. Gabi hyperventilates there is none, not again! Kayla informs Stefan he could be seen as the hero of Salem. Stefan could not care less what others think. She brings up Abigail. He hates that she hates him so Kayla tells him to take his chance and show the town he can be trusted. He agrees to give her all they have on the bionic eye. But in return she has to help him destroy Kate. The smile fades fast from the good doctor's face ... Kate sits with Chad at the square and gets snarky about Laura whisking Abigail away. She asks Chad how he is coping with the knowledge that the wife he loves deeply slept with his worst enemy. Chad downs his drink ... Abigail admits to Jen and Laura she knows not where the alters end and she begins. Laura points out they are all part of her personality and need to be integrated. Jen gets it but Abigail hopes her alter sleeping with Stefan does not mean that she was into him ... Kate is sorry she broached the sensitive subject of Stefan. Chad repeats what Gabi suggested – that his wife was just trying to hit back at both of them for the past ... Kayla acts like she knows next to nothing about Kate but Stefan the shark senses she knows a skeleton in her closet. He wickedly announces the bionic eye will be all hers if she shares what she has on Kate ... Hope argues Abigail is not a threat like notorious Ben. Marlena states both suffered from a serious psychological disorder. Hope cannot believe the miraculous recovery of the serial killer is real ... Rafe tells Gabi it would have been caught on tape. She laments Lucas already told Ari she was heading home tonight. The warden growls she is going nowhere now ... Chad wants to move forward although he still seems to feel badly about turning to Gabi when his wife was presumed dead. He wants to move on after Laura integrates the alters ... Abigail babbles about her bad behavior with Stefan hurting Chad. Laura assures her they will learn all from the alters and Jen reminds her she won when she battled Gabby. Laura deduces her love for Chad was stronger ... Stefan tries to coax Kayla into sharing her dirt on Kate. Steve now calls her from the pub and updates her on his conversation with Kate going nowhere since she suggested he speak to Stefan. Kayla will see him soon and ends the call. She does not want to do Stefan’s bidding. He smoothly suggests she call him cos he will be waiting. Kayla hangs her head and walks out, with his card ... Rafe suggests the warden check the security footage cos Gabi did not go after Diane. She gasps Diane came after her! He leaves and Rafe promises crying Gabi he is going to get her home ... Marlena has decided to help Hope by meeting with Ben to evaluate him. If she does not like what she sees she will file an objection. She must do so for the sake of all his victims ... Chad returns to Abigail at the club. She tells him Laura wants her to leave for Boston tonight. But first she wants to say goodnight to Thomas. Chad agrees and kisses her. She gushes they are going to have their dream life and kisses him again but her eyes reflect her worry. Chad holds her close ... Steve meets with Kayla at the pub feeling disappointed about his bionic eye bust. She toys with the card Stefan gave her and notes maybe ... Steve snaps he will not deal with Stefan, the devil who would never help him for real ... Kate gets a call from Stefan, who notes she was not charged with the murder of mama Madam Viv. She talks self-defense. He sneers time has run out and here he comes! Kate hangs up as harrowing music warns of what is to come ... STAY TUNED! |
