Stephanie is surprised to see ex Everett, who appears at her door and gushes good morning gorgeous ... Roman insists the soup is on the house for newlywed Nicole. She seems rattled to hear Eric tied the knot too ... Sloan loves being Mrs. Eric Brady and they smooch. Here comes Melinda who brings up their ordered pizza and gushes they are getting a baby. Eric and Sloan are over the moon and want details. Melinda gives them a blue teddy bear for their boy. Eric cannot wait to be a dad ... Nicole wonders why when she saw Eric he did not say he was marrying Sloan. Ro suggests it was impulsive ... EJ assumes Stephanie and Chad have resolved their problems. Chad says no and complains about her ex Everett coming to town. He could come between them ... Everett has Steph's fave pumpkin spice latte. She reminds her ex she lives with Chad now. Everett announces he needs her help ... - Jada orders the guys to the ground but aristocratic Dimitri is defiant ... EJ hears the Everett story and seems suspicious. Chad complains he wanted to pick up where he and Steph left off ... Everett sighs he knew not the Spectator was in such trouble. Tis not easy being editor-in-chief. Steph updates him on criminal Xander running things. Everett wishes he had known that and complains about the star columnist being on the run with a killer ... Jada warns she has backup and talks tough ... Roman believes tis best that Eric and Nicole are still friends. Nicole knows Eric and Sloan hope to adopt and hopes they will succeed ... Eric gushes they are going to need a car seat and more. He happily heads out to shop for his boy. Sloan senses something and probes. Melinda must tell her another couple has a contract for the baby but she can pay off their attorney. Sloan gets stressed cos Eric would not approve. Melinda reminds her she is not above keeping secrets from him ... - As she exits the pub Nicole runs into elated Eric, who just bought a little baby gym. He gushes he and Sloan are getting a baby boy ... Everett asks Steph to help with the paper's PR probs. Alas she is too busy but he claims if he loses his job he will not be able to pay his medical bills. She agrees to help but only if he respects the boundaries. He gratefully agrees and wonders whether she and Chad worked things out ... EJ scoffs when he hears how Everett is trying to stake his claim with Chad's love interest. Chad worries he might lose her but tries to stop EJ from giving him bad advice again. EJ suggests a new angle - if Chad buys the Spectator he can fire him so he will finally leave town ... Jada has her gun drawn and orders Leo to cuff Dimitri. All of a sudden Dimitri lunges. The gun goes off ... - Sloan feels badly about taking a child that was already promised to another couple. Melinda warns then they must wait longer. Much longer ... Nicole is surprised the adoption is happening so fast. Eric feels fortunate and asks how she feels. She feels like her baby is a miracle but they know not whether tis a boy or a girl. She heard about his sudden marriage with Sloan. Eric now makes a surprising admission ... EJ suggests cash strapped Xander would jump at the chance to unload his flailing paper and advises Chad to make an anonymous offer ... Steph warns Everett to stick to business talk. Everett humors her and agrees not to ask about her relationship with Chad anymore ... Dimitri now has Jada's gun and knows she has no backup. He demands her car keys and Leo gets them. He is horrified when Dimitri decides to off her. He orders her to turn around. Leo tries to reason with him and hopes he has changed. He could not bear to lose him. Dimitri decides to knock Jada out instead and bolts with Leo ... Everett believes it would be best to distance the paper from crazy Leo. Steph, however, warns that would be the worst thing for the readership. Leo Stark is a Salem folk hero ... Chad wants to believe things will work out and goes on his way. EJ believes little brother is deluding himself again ... Eric admits it was hard hearing Nicole was marrying EJ so he decided to move on too. They will always have feelings for one another and she woefully agrees. Then she congrats him again. He congrats her right back and looks forward to meeting her child. If only they knew he was the real daddy! - Sloan agrees cos she does not want to wait and Eric wants to be a dad so ... call the lawyer. Melinda does just that ... Roman greets Eric, who confirms he and Sloan are getting a baby boy. Roman hugs him ... Alas Melinda and Sloan were too late ... Dimitri is driving. Leo reads his text from Rolf warning the sub cannot remain submerged much longer. Dimitri puts his pedal to the metal ... Newspaperman Everett is uneasy promoting a character like Leo. Steph suggests they write a statement supporting Leo, since he would do anything for love. Everett relates to that angle and here comes Chad. Steph smiles she is doing some PR work for the Spectator. Chad stares darkly as Everett departs ... Jada wakes up and calls Rafe about the perps taking her car ... Meanwhile Leo cannot convince desperate Dimitri to slow down ... EJ calls Nicole, who is driving home in the fog. She loves him and loves they are having a baby ... Dimitri loses control of the car and crosses over into oncoming traffic ...
