When tired Nicole tells Eric at the roadside how Dimitri took her baby for help, they both get worried ... Dimitri appears at Sloan's door holding a baby because he needs legal help. Talk about timing. Sloan looks at Melinda, who looks just as astonished. The ex D.A. demands to know whose baby it is. Dimitri nervously admits it is his Uncle EJ's baby. Sloan and Melinda suddenly realizes that really means Eric's baby ... EJ is livid Holly did not share Nicole's last ping location earlier ... Exhausted Nicole informs Eric that Leo told Dimitri to take her boy to the hospital. Alas neither can be trusted ... Leo tries to talk his way out. Jada orders him to put his hands behind his back. Leo gets mad and turns to bolt, only to run into burly Rafe ... At the well lit square Stefan wants to speak to elegant mayor Paulina. He strongly suggests she fire her new D.A. ... Tate stands up for Holly and explains Eric already went to find Nicole. EJ stares ... - Eric is relieved that Leo helped Nicole, who worries the two fellas are fugitives. Eric calls Rafe to let him know that fugitive Dimitri has her son ... Leo is cuffed and grilled by the cops. He defends boyfriend DiMitri. Rafe demands his whereabouts. Jada warns him not to take the fall and do as Rafe asks ... Dimitri did not want to risk the cops at the hospital especially Rafe. Leo had told him about how good a lawyer Sloan was. She wonders how she can help him. Dimitri knows the baby needs a doctor, wants to find Leo and leave town. Melinda proceeds to praise him and slyly smiles he is at the right place ... Back at the square peeved Paulina supports EJ and how he threw the book at Gabi. Stefan insists she was innocent and accuses EJ of using his new power to go after him and his beloved ... Nicole informs Eric the cell service is nonexistent out here and starts to weep. Eric promises her she and her son will get the assistance they need. Suited EJ gets out of his car, happy to overhear he has a boy ... Rafe warns Leo he could be facing five to ten if he does not reveal Dimitri's whereabouts. Leo argues they were heroes and he even helped bring a baby into the world. The cops want the whole story ... - Sloan looks worried when Melinda smiles Dimitri can leave the baby with them and they will take care of things. Dimitri wishes the lad a nice life and takes off after handing him to Sloan, who wants to call the cops. Melinda wants to think. Sloan knows this is Nicole's premi and wants to take him to hospital. Melinda points out this baby answered her prayers and no one will be the wiser ... As Stefano's portrait watches, Tate assures grateful Holly he is always here. He now wonders whether they were about to kiss earlier ... EJ takes over, kisses his beloved while Eric watches and marvels over their baby boy. He wonders where he is. Nicole whimpers ... Leo updates Jada and Rafe on how he delivered car crash Nicole's baby. Leo left when Eric arrived. Meantime Dimitri took the baby to the hospital ... Sloan is stunned Melinda thinks she should keep Nicole's baby. Superstitious Melinda suggests it was karma and no one will ever know this is Eric and Nicole's son. Sloan states Dimitri knows. Melinda argues he is about to flee Salem forever so no one would know. Sloan starts to consider the outlandish idea ... - Paulina wants the details. Stefan insists EJ gave his beloved Gabi a raw deal. Paulina cannot interfere with a murder investigation and says so. Stefan is still not satisfied ... Rafe is unable to track Jada's personal car. Leo asks to make his one call now. The cops step out and he calls Dimitri, complaining he was arrested ... Holly acts indignant. Tate stammers but she boots him out ... EJ insists on heading to the hospital. Eric warns him that Nicole should not be moved. Nicole wants to go to her baby and says she feels fine. EJ coldly thanks Eric and suggests he head home to take care of his own wife while he takes care of Nicole ... Sloan suspects Nicole and EJ are already hunting high and low for Dimitri. Melinda comes up with a plan. They can pretend Nicole's baby did not make it. Sloan would not want to hurt her so. Melina suggests then the baby would be raised by monster EJ. Sloan is listening. Melinda will pay a shady doctor to lie that Nicole's baby died. He will also examine the baby in Sloan's arms. She has an insurance fraud fiend in mind - called Pierce - whom Sloan got off in the past. He will be paid the money that had been intended for the private adoption that fell through. A little while later Melinda will show up with Sloan and Eric's newly adopted baby - with perfect paperwork. She promises her pal they will succeed and calls the whole scenario Sloan's miracle ... - Tate apologizes for misunderstanding and takes his teen angst with him when he leaves Holly ... Stefan stops Paulina from leaving and she suggests he unhand her. He smoothly offers a donation to her future campaign. She turns him down so he warns she will regret backing the wrong DiMera brother. Then he walks off like a slick mobster ... EJ comes to see Nicole in her hospital bed and she asks for an update. So far no sign of Dimitri or their son. She wonders where they are. EJ assures her they will get her precious boy back soon ... Phone Dimitri gasps the submarine is about to depart. Leo cannot leave the station and urges the love of his life to save himself ... Eric returns home to Sloan, who announces their baby boy was born ...
