Meanwhile Melinda has the baby in a room and promises soon he will be with Papa Eric and mama Sloan. She hopes the scheme will succeed ... Leo reminds sweetheart they have no money and insists he escape Salem on Rolf's submarine. Dimitri does not want to leave the love of his life and decides to do something ... EJ tries to calm Nicole down and urges her to rest. He believes Dimitri will look after their son since he likely wants a ransom. Nicole sobs their son needs them and he holds her ... - Sloan cannot wait to be a family with Eric and their adopted baby ... Meanwhile Melinda opens her door to a dubious Dr. Pierce. But Leo refuses to betray his lover ... EJ calls for Rafe and learns Leo was just arrested. He promises to call Nicole when he has something and suggests she rest ... Holly realizes she got a text from Eric that confirms her mom had an accident and was taken to hospital. She and Johnny are on their way ... Sloan states the baby is healthy but small. Eric notes Nicole's baby was born today too. Sloan fakes her surprise and sympathy about the accident. Eric deduces Dimitri made it to the hospital with the infant. Sloan remembers Dimitri handing him over and muses everything worked out well ... Pierce only cam by to help Sloan but smells a trap. Melinda is no longer D.A. She and Sloan seek a favor and offers him big money. He blows her off but when she shows him the amount he changes his tune ... - Pierce has checked the baby and calls the premi fine, a fighter. Melinda orders him to write otherwise ... Johnny and Holly hug nervous Nicole in her room. She complains about the fugitives running her off the road and updates them on her little boy being missing ... Sloan pretends to feel for Nicole. Dimitri calls. She tells Eric tis a client so he gets going to Marlena's. Once alone she gets back on the call. Dimitri implores her to help arrested honey Leo ... Leo decides to wait for his lawyer but asks Rafe if the attempted murder charges against Dimitri for trying to off Gabi will be dropped since Gabi herself was just incarcerated for murder. Rafe cannot believe his audacious spin. All of a sudden raging bull EJ bursts in, lunging for Leo with murder in hie eyes ... Marlena is over the moon to hear the baby Eric and Sloan are adopting is here. He marvels tis a boy but alas still knows not tis really his son ... Sloan hates Leo. Dimitri promises big bucks. He defends lover Leo as a good man and hopes she will get him acquitted. She decides she will do it for big bucks and will make sure Leo and Dimitri wind up together in a place very faaaaaaaaaaar from Salem ... EJ demands to know wot Dimitri did with his son. Rafe pulls him off and hears the whole story about Dimitri promising to take the baby to the hospital, only to vanish with him. Leo is flabbergasted and swears it must be a mix up. EJ not so subtly threatens him ... - Johnny wonders why Dimitri did not bring the baby to the hospital. Nicole admits she and EJ wonders whether he wants to use the baby as a bargaining chip. She gets Johnny to send EJ a message asking for an update. Holly assures her her little brother will be alright for he is already a fighter just like his mother ... Pierce has a crise de conscience about lying to any parent about their baby not surviving. Melinda spins he will simply be helping one couple's wish come true and again dangles the big money ... Leo swears he knows not where Dimitri is. Rafe wants to take over. D.A. EJ insists he is within his rights to grill the perp. Sloan walks in as his lawyer and orders both EJ and Rafe out. They grudgingly go. Leo now learns she was contacted by Dimitri. He wonders what she knows and what happened to Nicole's baby. Sloan lies Dimitri said nothing about said subject to her ... - Melinda holds the baby, pleased he is in great shape. She feels a bit badly but one must sacrifice for the good of the child sometimes just as she did with daughter Haley, who was raised by her parents. She sheds a tear and then assures herself Sloan and Eric will be the most wonderful parents ... Eric praises Melinda Trask for helping. He hopes Nicole's story will also have a happy ending. Marlena senses something ... EJ returns to Nicole and promises he will search for their son himself. Johnny wants to join him. Dr. Pierce comes in and claims a man brought her baby to the hospital. EJ was told the baby was not brought in. The doctor hesitates. Nicole wants assurance her son is alright. Dr. Pierce now lies her son did not survive. EJ and Nicole are shocked. Holly and Johnny too ... Dimitri is on a call with Rolf, who cannot wait any longer. Dimitri must get to the docks now. He whispers in the air to Leo - whom he must leave - that he loves him ... Leo is relieved to hear Dimitri was able to leave town. Sympathetic Sloan promises to help him. She now gets a call from Melinda about Pierce coming through ... Nicole cannot believe it for the baby was fine when Dimitri took him. The medicine man claims there were internal injuries from the crash and shows her the blanket he was wrapped in. Nicole sobs and clutches the blankie she had bought him, in which Dimitri had wrapped him. Peirce is sorry and gets going. EJ stares in shock. Johnny is sorry. Holly hugs her mother. EJ suggests his son take Holly out of the room. Johnny does just that. EJ now holds Nicole and they weep together, unaware of the terrible injustice that was done to them - for now ... - Eric gets a call from Holly and gasps oh God. Marlena worriedly wonders ... Nicole feels deep down the doctor was wrong! EJ sobs and she wonders what went wrong. She did everything she had to as it was a high risk pregnancy. EJ agrees. She sadly states they already lost two babies before they were born but this one made it ... at first. She cries noooooooooooo and he holds her.
