She updates Rafe on Gabi's prints being found on the knife but there was also a second set ... Eerie music plays as Stefan visits with Gabi at the station and assures her legal eagle Belle will save the day. Gabi still feels sunk since EJ is the new D.A. ... EJ is smug as a bug at the mansion. Legal eagle Belle comes by to confront him cos Gabi is her client ... Stefan points out to Gabi that there is no proof she offed Li and suggests the Salem PD and brother Rafe will save the day ... Jada reads the report and realizes that the other prints on the knife belonged to Li. Rafe sighs ... Leo wishes he had been able to report on the scandalous Gabi story as Lady Whistleblower. Dimitri is sorry about their predicament but Leo is in love and perky and positive as ever ... Then he reads about Rolf being in Salem and gushes they will be saved. Dimitri deduces Rolf has already left. Knock knock. Speak of the mad scientist ponytailed devil! - Gabi wonders whether Melinda did it. Stefan disagrees. Rafe arrives with glum news on the knife not having anything to help clear Gabi, who gets upset. Stefan insists there is more to look into. Rafe agrees. Alas she remains the main suspect ... EJ sarcastically informs Belle her client is guilty so why waste time? Belle brings up his personal grudge with Gabi ... Woeful Wendy suspects Rafe will try and save his sister. Tripp is sympathetic. She suddenly realizes she should call her father and wonders what to say. Tripp assures her he is here so she makes the tragic call. She starts to tell the unseen unheard Shin, then cannot and Tripp takes the phone. He is sorry to inform the man that his son has died. Wendy weeps ... Stefan asks about security footage. The cops are still on it. Gabi still feels sunk so Stefan updates her on Belle's conflict of interest angle with the dastardly new D.A. She is confronting him as they speak ... - EJ smoothly states he accepted the D.A. position before he was aware of Gabi's crime. Belle explains Gabi got the knife out of Li to save him. EJ cackles. Belle strongly suggests he drop the charges stat or he will only make a fool of himself ... Dimitri asks Rolf to take himself and Leo with him when he leaves Salem and promises Megan will reimburse him. Rolf reveals how upset Megan was about him bungling the family fortune by falling in love. However he is still her son and she wants Rolf to help. Leo is relieved. Rolf notes Megan did not want him to bring the plus one ... Sympathetic Belle joins Stefan and Gabi at the station with an unfortunate update. EJ is playing hardball. Gabi is dismal. Stefan insists tis a setback and promises after the arraignment they will pay the bill and bring her home. Alas EJ intends to make the case she is a flight risk and get bail denied ... Tripp repeats he is sorry and ends the call with Wendy's father. Teary Wendy hears he sounded shocked. Wendy feels the same way and sobs on her medicine man's strong shoulder ... Dimitri declares he and Leo are a package deal on the submarine (which is not yellow). Rolf refuses and calls Leo riffraff whose appearance would upset Megan. Dimitri insists and Leo cusses in German. It works. Rolf agrees and goes. Dimitri asks if Leo is really ready to leave his life in Salem forever but Leo is in love and that makes it worth it. He believes everyone will remember Lady Whistleblower but he belongs with Dimitri. He will follow him. They kiss in bliss ... - Jada has a few questions for Wendy about Li's mood last time she saw him. He was livid at Gabi. Jada asks about his state of mind. Wendy gets mad at what she is suggesting but Jada just wants justice. She now gets a call on another lead ... Gabi is upset about the denied bail. Stefan and Belle assure her they will keep fighting. EJ comes by and gets sarcastic about making her pay. Stefan attacks him but Rafe stops the battling bucks. Wicked EJ blows Gabi a kiss and wishes her luck in the slammer. Then he goes on his haughty way ... Tripp has more herbal tea for Wendy. A text comes in and she learns Gabi's bail got denied ... Rafe sadly states he must arrange Gabi's transfer to Statesville and vows to work until he gets her exonerated. They share a brotherly sisterly hug and he promises she will be home soon. Stefan holds her unhappy face ... Belle catches up with EJ outside and warns this is not over. Stefan will hit back because the war has just gotten started. EJ is amused ... Gabi is on her last call with Ari, assuring her she will be free and home soon. Stefan explains the transport is waiting with Rafe. This is their moment alone. The last one for a while. Gabi is upset. Stefan promises she will be free soon and reminds her not to forget what a survivor she is. He weeps they will be home together soon and they share their last kiss. Now tis time for her to go. They exchange I love you’s and she is escorted away by the officer ... Meanwhile Dimitri and perky Leo are packed. Rolf texts the sub awaits. Leo opens the door to ...
