Up by early afternoon October 17 I KNOW WHAT YOU DID! - Replay of EJ playing the damning recording, Sami staring in disbelief as she hears Nicole claiming that EJ was the father of her baby. Pause. Sami dismisses it as a trick by Nicole but EJ insists it is authentic. She begs Rafe to tell her it is not true but EJ snaps he cannot. Plus he could have DNA experts do testing. Sami admits even she could play with test results and refuses to believe it. Nicole must have had some crazy … Rafe urges her to stop. “He’s right. For once he is right.” He decides the time has come to tell the truth. Nicole’s baby was not his. Nicole’s baby was EJ’s! Sami stammers he told her … “He told you a lie!” gloats EJ, adding the man she dumped him for is a liar! He rages that Rafe the righteous lied for Nicole and did not trust her with it. He wanted to play the knight in shining armor to Nicole. He would have lied to her in perpetuity, not to mention that he was keeping the child from his fatha. And he would probably do it all over again! Rafe confirms to EJ that he would do it again to keep the child from him. EJ rages he would have protected his child and he would not have been lost, as Nicole would not have fought with Jennifer Horton. He angrily addresses Sami and asks if she still considers Rafe the better man. Sami cries to stop it. - In her office, Hope explains she did not intend for Maggie to see that she was visiting a website for elderly care. Maggie suddenly realizes that Caroline is the one who is ailing, not Bo as she assumed. Hope is tight lipped, given she had promised not to say anything. Maggie understands. However, she has already noticed Caroline is not quite herself. Is that why Bo resigned? Hope points out that is not why Bo left the force and implores her not to tell anyone what she saw here today. Maggie promises and solemnly states she will keep Caroline in her prayers, for that is what she needs. - Caroline comes downstairs at the pub, asking for Shawn. Bo asks if she is alright. She looks at Victor, a tad dazed. Why is he here? The Greek tycoon pleasantly explains he was passing by and saw Bo in the window. Bo offers Caroline a nice cup of tea. Victor, on the other hand, suggests a glass of port. Now she is interested! Bo serves them. Caroline sits and smiles she is glad he came by. Victor drawls he is too. As they enjoy their port,Bo discreetly steps away to check that the pub is properly locked up. They agree they have a fine son. Caroline notes time passes faster every year. Victor knows exactly what she means. She admits sometimes her mind wanders to the past. Some things have changed but he has not. He certainly hopes he has. She teases he is no longer the dangerous Victor Kiriakis the world once saw, for the mask fell and he now shows the gentle, handsome man she used to care for. He murmurs he still sees her as a beautiful young woman. Bo watches the touching scene, then wants to join them. Caroline gushes she is lucky for both of them. Bo thinks they are the lucky ones. Victor soon thanks Caroline for the memories and bids her goodnight. She gives him a tender kiss and exits the room. Bo puts the glasses away. Victor approaches him as he pretends to be busy at the bar and assures him he is sorry. Bo insists there is no need to be sorry as they will take care of ma and she will be fine. They will get her treatment though they are not sure what her condition is just yet. Dr. Kayla is on it. He hopes Victor will not tell anyone. Victor vows he will not but offers to help pay for the treatments. Bo would rather take care of things himself. Victor is proud of him and emotionally embraces his caring son. Just then Maggie and Hope enter. - John’s maddening dream of Kristen continues. She teases she knows how to make his bad dream go away and kisses him passionately! He jumps out of bed. He now wakes up for real with a gasp. Marlena wakes up as well and worriedly asks if he is okay. Shirtless John whispers it was just a dream. She thinks it seemed more like a nightmare and wonders what it was. He is not sure and decides to go get some fresh air. He loves her and tells her to go back to sleep. She loves him too and watches with concern as he walks away. - Meanwhile, the plane has landed. Kristen smirks she is back at last! She has seen the white limo on the tarmac waiting and ends a call with father, promising him she will attend to those family matters. She fails to mention that she also has a personal matter on her plate. Kristen has an agenda ... - John is now dressed and walks alone in the Salem night. He pauses to reflect underneath the town square archway and wonders why he has Kristen on his mind. He saunters through the town square and cannot believe how the memory of her is getting to him, He does not understand it! He remembers their wedding plans with an intense flashback, then comes back to reality and feels a gloved hand on his shoulder. Marlena! She sensed he was upset about the past that Sonny had brought up and wonders if that was what he was dreaming about. She just knew his memories would come flooding back again. - EJ apologizes to Samantha for upsetting her and starts to leave. She is sorry for his loss. He thanks her and exits, though he intends to talk to Rafe later! Rafe shoves his hands in his pockets and faces Sami. “How could you do this to us?” she accuses. He claims he was upset earlier because he hated lying to her. Sami makes for the door and retorts he did not have to lie. She bitterly states he was there for Nicole the damsel in distress. It seems any damsel will do! He reminds her they were not together when the pretense started. She reminds him they were almost together now and he did not bother to confide in her. She knows he was not protecting her. She believed all along that the story of him and Nicole was ridiculous and then he made her feel a fool every time she doubted it. He is sorry and explains he promised to keep Nicole’s secret for the sake of the baby. Sami cries she thought they would have a new start. “But the truth is you just don’t trust me!” He observes her with soulful eyes and does not deny it. - EJ enters his dark office and slowly sits down at his desk. He turns on the light and picks up a framed picture of his children. If only they could have know their little brotha. An unexpected knock on his door makes him get up. When he opens it, there stands Kristen in her elegant hat, but he assumes he is face to face with motha Susan! - Sami numbly realizes Rafe meant it when he said she broke his trust but now she does not trust him. Rafe is exasperated and urges her to try and remember that she was in the same boat as Nicole before, wanting to hide her pregnancy from EJ. Sami feels EJ is no longer a threat to anyone. She remains bitter he did not trust her with the secret and wonders whether he actually thought she would hurt the innocent child with the information. Rafe glumly sits down and wishes she would cut him some slack. Sami righteously notes he does not think what he did was wrong. She already forgave him for lusting after her sister and getting Nicole pregnant. And those two women make her crazy. Rafe stands up and gets close. Sami squints through her tears and demands to be enlightened on what Carrie knows. “Did you tell Carrie that it was a lie?” Rafe cringes. Sami angrily repeats the question. His silence speaks volumes. She screams he must have told Carrie yet not her! - Kristen is amused. She is younger than EJ's mother Susan and not all the plastic surgery in the world could make Susan look like this. She happens to be his sister. "Kristen," deduces EJ.
