Up by early afternoon October 22 DEAL BREAKER! - Replay of a most flustered Marlena at the park, unable to find her phone, which she is sure Kristen pinched. She must warn John! - Meanwhile, at his office, John turns and whispers “Kristen.” She purrs it is good to see him. He stares. She shuts the door behind herself and marvels how no time seems to have passed. John picks up his phone to call Roman and have her thrown in jail where she belongs! Kristen pouts. - At the apartment, businesswoman Sami is busy on her computer as Lucas lists what he has. He will pick Ally up after school and take her to ballet. Sami keeps working and sulking. Lucas sarcastically states that everything is old again, since Ally told him of her date with Rafe. He drawls he does not care if they are together but Sami snaps they are not together and furthermore that Rafe Hernandez can go straight to hell! Lucas wonders why. She updates him on Nicole losing her baby. Lucas feels sorry for Rafe losing his baby. Sami complains it was EJ’s baby all along. Lucas chuckles he just knew it had to be one messed up story. Sami complains about Rafe lying to her time and time again. Lucas notes he must have his reasons. Self-absorbed Sami exclaims he did not trust her. Lucas is amused that she, of all people, felt betrayed??? She sure is holding Rafe to a higher standard than the one that she lives by! - After Dan whispers he wants to take Nicole away, she hugs him in gratitude. He explains it will not be a vacation like she assumes, it is a staycation. They will go away and stay away. Forever! Nicole cannot believe her good fortune and mentions friends do not do that together. Dan murmurs couples do that and this is what he sees for their future. She is elated. When can they leave? He explains as soon as he makes sure there will be no legal ramifications from EJ. Nicole stammers he did not seem to care they lied. Just then Rafe enters and warns them EJ will not let it go. He is on the warpath! EJ already confronted him with the damning recording of Nicole’s admission, Dan is miffed the bastard has proof and wonders what his game is. Rafe laments for starters, he wreaked havoc for himself and Sami. Dan suspects the revenge is only beginning. Nicole laments she is very sorry. She ruined everything! Dan disagrees. EJ is to blame. She exclaims it is her fault they risked it all for her and lost! Rafe and Dan work to calm her down. Rafe did not want her to have to do battle with EJ over the child the way Sami has to for the two kids she shares with him. Dan assures her they were fully aware of the risks. Rafe thinks she still needs their protection. Dan agrees. There could be problems. - EJ shows up at Jen’s door and leers she killed his child and he will make her pay! She denies the charge. He now tells her what he heard. That she shoved Nicole down the stairs in a fit of rage. Jen cries it was not like that though she is sorry for the loss of his baby. EJ growls Brady and Billie saw her fighting with Nicole, who was eight months pregnant! Jen sobs as she tries to clarify but EJ will only rage his son is dead. Hope the cop arrives at the door and sternly orders him to get out. Now! She threatens to arrest him for trespassing. EJ leers this does not change the fact that his son is dead and Jennifer Horton killed him. He vows to make her pay as she sits on the stairs and sobs. Hope repeats to get out and shuts the door after him. She now embraces crying Jen, her eyes filled with worry. - Marlena momentarily fears Kristen has snatched her keys as well, then finds them in the grass and takes off to forewarn John … - Kristen thinks John would be wasting his time by reporting her, as those warrants against her have long expired. She would not have returned if she risked any kind arrest. He drawls to stay away from him until he verifies that. She assures him she has no intention of causing trouble for she wishes to right all her past wrongs. “I’m here to make amends!” John sarcastically reminds her that hers were no minor infractions. She lowers her voice and reminds him she lost a child and was not in her right frame of mind. He reminds her she once tried to kill his wife. She likens her breakdown to what Jennifer recently did whilst in mourning. She argues her case with conviction and emotion. - Sami suggests her lying to Rafe did not give him the right to lie to her. Lucas remains sarcastic. The reason Rafe lied was to keep EJ away from the baby and she of all people should understand as she was once in the same boat. Lucas becomes amused when he realizes she is especially upset as he confided in Carrie but not her. Sami disagrees. Lucas advises her to stop putting Rafe on a pedestal. He is only human and made a mistake. She says that is not fair. Lucas snaps she expects every man in her life to be perfect and that is not fair! She should think about that! Lucas now storms out in a huff. - Hope tries to console Jen and seeks clarification. She realizes EJ does believe she pushed Nicole down the stairs. Hope reminds her that in her statement to Roman, she had said she thought she pushed her. Jen claims she was not thinking clearly at the time and yes they were fighting, though she did not do it! She urges her cousin to believe her. Hope observes her. She knows she would not hurt anyone. However, that is not enough as her first statement to the police could hurt her case. In addition, it could appear she is trying to cover up a lie. Jen insists it is the truth. Cop Hope wonders if she just wants to believe it. Jen adds there is someone who believes her and his support means the world to her! - Rafe and Dan intercept EJ at the hospital to prevent him from entering Nicole’s room. She is dressed. Upon hearing that EJ wants to speak with all of them, Nicole tells her bodyguards to let him in. The time has come to discuss where they all stand. Nicole gets back in bed and points out to angry EJ that they have already lost what matters. He agrees with her, then glances at defiant Rafe and Dan, declaring it is their turn! No one would blame him for wanting them to all go down in flames. He could have Dan’s medical license taken away as well as Rafe’s badge. He now turns to Nicole and cries as he rages at her deception. She screams to stop threatening. He does and suddenly announces he will not do anything. He could and he should retaliate but he has decided not to. Matter of fact, he is letting the whole thing go. - John is doing his damnedest to ignore Kristen as she recounts how she had so much therapy. She believes she is herself again! He flashes back to their first meeting, when she informed him she did social work. Back to the present. Kristen reasons they once loved each other a great deal. Sometimes that can turn into obsession. That was what happened when she lost their baby and he turned to Marlena. But she takes full responsibility … John drawls he does not believe a single word from her lips. Kristen thinks he sounds like Marlena. John frowns. He is dismayed to discover that she has already paid a visit to his wife. It makes him that much more suspicious! He demands to know when and where she saw his beloved doc. At the park. He grabs her wrists and warns if anything happens to her … Marlena arrives to warn him and witnesses the highly charged scene. John goes to Marlena, who assures him she is alright. Kristen claims she meant no harm. Marlena coldly calls her a liar. Kristen talks therapy. Marlena accuses her of stealing her phone. Just then Mindy enters with Marlena’s cell phone, which she left in the waiting area this morning. Marlena thanks her for it and turns back to John and Kristen. Kristen is smug. John is thinking ... - Sami flashes back to EJ exposing Rafe and can take it no more. She decides to get out of the apartment .... - Dan finds it highly suspicious that EJ has opted not to press charges. EJ reasons his son is dead and it is best to move on. Losing something precious makes on retrace one’s steps. He admits if he had not slept with Samantha, then he and Nicole would not have been broken up and the loss would not have occurred. His face now tense, he takes his leave. - Kristen notes it seems the wounds remain fresh for some even though it has been over a decade. She promises not to bother John and Marlena again and exits the office. Outside the door, she pauses, her cat eyes narrowing. - Lucas pays a visit to Jen and wants to know what the hell happened. She laments she might have made it appear she pushed Nicole to Roman at first. Lucas explains Sami had told him EJ was the baby’s father and not Rafe. Jen agrees that is basically what happened and scurries outside to make a mysterious call. Lucas and Hope wait inside with worry. - Rafe approaches EJ as he calmly pours himself coffee at the nurse’s station. EJ had assumed they were done. Rafe muses he does not believe his sudden personality transplant. EJ will only say he has other plans to attend to. Rafe assumes he means Jennifer. EJ points out he does not need to go after him as he has already lost what counts. Rafe suspects he wants a clear path to Sami. EJ grins Samantha has made it clear she has no interest in him anymore. Rafe does not believe he is being sincere but EJ insists he is. Perhaps he is not used to it! - Back in her room, Nicole wonders to Dan if EJ really is being sincere. He is not sure and takes off when the widow Jen calls. Jen claims she just wanted him to know that EJ is angry about what happened. Dan vaguely replies it will all work out for everyone. She does not understand. He assures her he believes in her innocence and ends the call. Jen, still standing on her porch, asks Daniel if he is still there. Lucas appears and would like to know what that was about. - Dan returns to Nicole’s room. She asks if he meant it when he said he wanted to go away and start a new life with her. He sits down on her bed and enthusiastically agrees. There is nothing here for him, only the past. Nicole is pleased. She has just one more question. “Are you really ready to walk away from Jennifer?” Pause. - John gets off the phone and informs Marlena that it is true, the statute of limitations is up. Perhaps Kristen was indeed telling the truth. Marlena urges him not to trust her. He cannot make that mistake again! - EJ is working at his desk when visitor Kristen waltzes in. He tries unsuccessfully to dismiss her. She takes a seat and teases he needs her sisterly help. She smiles wickedly. “I know what you want.
