He excuses himself and Kristen approaches her adversary with a smirk ... - Marlena is slowly getting her cheeks and energy back. John gives her a tender kiss and whispers he loves her ... Kate realizes Marlena was the worst off and suggests Roman go see her. Roman has someone to watch over his new wife whilst he is gone. Charming Chad ... Tripp is telling the family gathered round Kayla that Rex must do blood tests on Marlena ... All of a sudden Steve's sweetness starts to slip away. They beg her to come back and Steve tells his son she needs the drug now. Roman arrives ... Kate regrets not warning Chad about Clyde. Chad insists tis not her fault. He is sad Rolf could only bring EJ back not his beloved Abby ... Kristen claims she came for Marlena and asks after her. Chloe senses something ... Rex returns and the gang urge him to give fading Kayla the drug fast. He does as asked and Steve asks if she hears him. She looks up, says mom and flatlines. Rex starts compressions as Steve calls out KAYLAAAAAAAAA! Tripp tries to help. Roman suggests they let the doctors do their work. Steve refuses to leave her side. Rex gets a pulse. She opens her eyes and Steve tells his sweetness she got the serum. Roman asks Rex if that drug will really be safe for Kate ... Kate sighs about her bad choices in men. Chad smiles she chose well with Roman and she agrees. She is ready to fight to live. Chad teases she is a badass and a survivor ... Speaking of badass .... Kristen scandalously suggests Chloe break up with Brady ... Here comes Brady demanding to know what she is up to now ... - John fusses over Marlena, who asks after Kayla and Kate. He expects good news but she senses his doubt ... Roman is worried the serum will harm Kate. Rex and Tripp doctor talk. Kayla slowly opens her tired eyes as Steve sits at her side patting her blonde head. She wonders why Roman is not with Kate. She assures Ro he is not to blame for Orpheus and tells the gang she feels better. Rex happily goes to give Kate her serum. Kayla looks tired ... Kate congratulates Chad on his new job. He likes working with Stephanie but admits he kinda crossed the line. Kate wants to hear all the details. He sighs they almost got carried away ... but he is not ready to be with anyone who is not his Abigail ... Brady offers to pick up Rachel so Kristen argues she dislikes Chloe and the fact that she is with her dad. She calls him selfish. Chloe sticks up for him. Kristen tells them to talk and taunts Brady she hopes Marlena will have a lasting recovery. She walks away. Chloe is sympathetic about the situation. Brady mutters something must be done ... Kate does not wish Chad discomfort and suggests he take one day at a time. She sighs and shuts her eyes. Chad cannot wake her up and wants to call Roman. She takes his hand and asks him to stay. He begs her to hang on because he needs her. Enter Roman and Rex, who administers the serum not a second too soon ... Steph has returned the bracelet to Kayla. Steve teases both women are stubborn. Tripp is about to head to the lab with blood samples but Kayla stops him ... - John is unpleasantly surprised when Kristen elegantly enters Marlena's room to say she forgives her for not helping with Rachel's custody and alludes to divine intervention ... Chloe admits to Brady that Kristen said to break up with him again. He sits her down and notes they cannot continue this way. He loves her but he loves his unhappy daughter and one must put the children first. She is horrified when he apologizes again and decides they are done ... Rex is pleased as punch Kate is better. She feels it. Roman grins and Chad thanks God. She hugs her genius son and Chad, whom she also loves. Then she kicks them out cos it is her wedding night. They laugh as they leave and Mr. and Mrs. Brady smile in bed. She gives him a come hither look and he gives her a kiss ... Kayla would like the family to come together like this more often. They agree and Steve asks to be alone with his sweetness. He takes her hand and they agree to stay healthy and safe to cherish each other every day of their lives. They kiss in bliss ... Steph takes a call from Chad who offers to step up if she needs to take tomorrow off. She looks forward to coming in ... Kristen whispers Marlena is most welcome and exits. John wonders what the hell. Marlena cares not cos they are happy. John hopes the fallout from Orpheus is over ... Chloe cries and takes off. Kristen is delighted by her slam dunk.
