He retorts NO when he realizes she wants Nicole living under their roof. "It this was April, I’d swear it was a joke!" says he. He will not make grieving Brady live under the same roof as his devious ex. Even South America would be too close! She asks him to be reasonable, to remember that Daniel is his godson. He said he needs Nicole to be safe. She is pregnant and EJ is coming after her. Daniel needs to protect her. Victor declares he is not the answer to his dilemma. He should not have gotten involved with that harpy in that first place! Maggie pouts, then he repeats the answer is a resounding NO! Kayla thinks Abigail should let this go. “Just like you let Steve go!” bitterly states the girl as she storms out. Outside, Abigail calls Cameron and cries it is not a good day for them to get together after all. Victor assures Maggie that NO is his complete sentence. Maggie now realizes she was wrong to assume he would be reasonable. Vic snaps he does not want that sociopathic woman darkening his doorway. She calls him pigheaded. He quips he was once insane and married to Nicole, too, or has she forgotten!. She raises her voice about his unilateral decisions. The heated exchange gets even louder. Enter Jen, shocked to hear the fighting. Who is moving in? Dan appreciates Nicole’s unusual offer. However, his daughter is her own person. They do things the ethical way and will therefore not be leaking things to the press. He must now get back to work. Nicole is curious about their living situation. Hers, to be exact, and would like an update. He has a plan. She is most eager hear it. He explains there is no rush for her to pack as he is waiting to hear back. About what? Where she will be living. She assumes he is referring his apartment and wonders if there is some sort of policy. Dan clarifies. He did not mean his place. He meant Victor and Maggie’s. Nicole’s face falls with disappointment. Hope admits she played hardball. If Nick does anything to sabotage himself, she will kill him! She is sure the parole board will see that he has changed. She wants what is best for him and urges him to let the truth and the record speak for itself. She implores him again not to self-sabotage. He notes that is asking a great deal. She accuses him of punishing those who love him! The truth is the right decision. Enter his mom, who concurs. Chad and Brady insist Mel was the one who got hurt by Nick and the wounds were opened again by Andrew. Mel argues that Nick should not have to suffer. She needs more time. Chad quips the hearing is today! It is now or never. He places an arm around her and she rests her weary head on his shoulder. Mel now quietly asks for a paper and pen. Chad and Brady are visibly relieved. Jen finally finds out what Victor and Maggie were clashing about. The Greek tycoon refuses to budge. The fiery redhead accuses him of not compromising. He snaps it is black or white. Maggie starts to rage. Jen jumps in with a solution and offers to let Nicole move in with her. Maggie considers. Victor silently sulks. The prison guard approaches Nick with an update on his requested meeting with the warden. Nick decides he has changed his mind. His mother hugs and thanks him. He will only agree to let this play out. If Mel writes a letter protesting his release, he will not go against it. Hope smiles she will get Bo, who will be testifying as the arresting officer. She thanks Nick’s mom, hugs him, and departs. Mother and son embrace again. Mel sits down and writes her letter. Chad sees Brady to the door and they both agree she might now be able to put some of this behind her.
