Sami gasps this is not the right time. EJ exclaims Will wants to work for him. Lucas insists he fire him or else! - Mel’s loon Lothario gingerly enters her room. She stares at him. He sits down and ominously strokes her hair, explaining he has decided they will be together forever. She cries and he hushes her, brushing away her tragic tears. He later gets her a tray of food and unties her hands. She must stay quiet and eat! Exit Andrew. The door opens again and Mel fantasizes it is Chad, her hero in a black leather jacket. She cries and he gallantly states he loves her. He asks her to be strong until he finds her. She whimpers she is scared. He assures her he is coming. “I promise!” In reality, however, only obsessed Andrew is standing there. He wonders who she is conversing with … - Chad wants Gabi to help search for Mel. But Hope now drops a bomb. This is a police search and they are staying here. Dan gets upset. “No way in hell is that happening?! - EJ sarcastically asks Lucas WOT he is planning. Lucas warns he does not want to know. EJ is not going anywhere as family means much to him. Lucas repeats to stay away from Sami, Ally, and Will. Or WOT?! Sami has heard enough. She snaps she is here and she is in charge of what is best for her children. EJ gazes at her in admiration. Lucas blinks, standing behind her. - The figure has returned the abstract art painting to the wall when the cops’ voices are heard approaching. Roman is filming as Rafe, wearing white globes, gets to the door. It is not locked! ISA Spencer enters with them. The figure in black quietly hides behind a wall as Rafe opens his bag, assuming they have the whole place to themselves ... - At the station, Bo and Hope explain they cannot let Chad and Dan help search for Mel. Chad and Dan protest. Gabi starts to send a text and pretends she was talking to work when Chad notices. He asks her to contact Rafe to help get him and Dan in on the search, Bo explains it might alert the kidnapper that they are onto him. Hope insists they all wait there and not get in the way. Dan reluctantly agrees. Gabi, having noticed the parameter circled on the large map, takes off, pretending she will email classmates to let them know to be on the lookout for Mel. Bo and Hope depart to get to work. Once they are gone, Chad insists to Dan he will search for Mel himself. Dan disagrees. He urges exasperated Chad to stay put and not put the investigation in jeopardy. Chad pretends to agree as Dan turns around to call Carly. He stares at Mel’s picture and suddenly bolts. Dan curses when he realizes what has happened and goes after him. - The figure in black remains concealed behind another door as the cops and ISA search. Spencer remarks this will be their first and last chance to find the evidence DiMera has. - Sami snaps she is not a prize and she decides who the kids can and cannot see! Lucas reminds her she did not want EJ near them and she has full custody. EJ reminds him he granted her full custody. Lucas insists she did not want him in the kids’ lives and refuses to let EJ change how she feels. “Leave now and don’t ever come back!” he bellows. - Gabi bursts into the house. She runs around like a chicken with her head cut off and warns Andrew the cops are in the area. No answer. She races down to the basement, aghast to discover the secret room is empty, like the rest of the house. She realizes they are gone. He has taken Mel and gone on the lam! She opens the note he left behind, that he is whisking away his fair prisoner somewhere no one will ever find her. Gabi is horrified. Oh God, what has she done! - At the town square, Chad leaves a desperate message for EJ to help him find Mel. He gets off the phone and keeps going. He soon spies Bo and Hope receiving word that he took off. He heads in the opposite direction to avoid being spotted. Dan catches up with Bo and Hope. They have no news on Mel or Chad. Dan is dismayed. He certainly hopes the stubborn boyfriend will not to anything rash and put his daughter in danger. - EJ’s apartment has been turned upside down. ISA Spencer wonders whether they missed something. Rafe takes down the abstract painting and they find the gloves taped to the back in a bag. Spencer is amazed. Rafe drawls they hit pay dirt. Roman films on … - Sami explains to Lucas that she does not want EJ to fire her or throw her out of this place, which he owns. EJ muses he could also fire Lucas. Lucas defiantly dares him to. EJ thinks there is something even more important to consider. He has every right to be here as Samantha’s guest. In fact, he did not hear her asking him to leave. Lucas advises her to do it. EJ explains he was leaving anyway. He has work to do He casually informs sweehot he will be back later to check on the kids. He smoothly takes his leave. Sami demands Lucas explain what that was all about. “This!” says he and he grabs her in a passionate kiss. She returns his kiss with equal ardor, then tells him he cannot boss her around. He refuses to apologize for protecting his family. And he will be damned if he lets EJ or anyone else come between them again! - Rafe has bagged the incriminating gloves when EJ enters. “WOT the bloody hell are doing here?” Roman informs him they have a warrant. Rafe makes a snide remark about calling the cops. EJ sees the bag and worriedly wonders where they found those gloves. Rafe gives him a triumphant look … - A knock at the door makes Gabi soon realize that Chad has arrived on scene, not the police. She hides and wonders what to do, then notices Mel’s bracelet on the floor. She is unable to reach it and panics she will go to jail.
