Why did he not tell him what was going on! EJ replies he did not want him to overreact. He insists he has things under control and wishes to end the call, as he is busy. Will requests a meeting at the mansion pronto. EJ promises he will be there and puts his jacket on. He informs concerned Samantha that he has work to attend to, gives her a kiss, and departs with a wink. She sighs. Will goes back inside the pub and grabs his bag. Lucas is sitting at the table holding the letter. He starts to tell Will they are not done yet ... Will quips they are and takes off, leaving Lucas with the letter. - Dan realizes, as per the spa records, that a certain customer cancelled on July 1 upon learning that Mel was not working. Nicole offers to take this information to Rafe down the hall. Dan diverts his gaze. Nicole the siren enters Rafe's office, which is now empty. She asks herself what she is doing with Daniel, whom she likes, then turns and bumps into Rafe. He notices she was talking to herself. She admits she feels badly, given what Daniel is experiencing at the moment. What if her child were the one missing! She recalls the sydnapping and gets herself worked up about EJ wanting her baby. Rafe calms her down. She laments she has probably been far too doom and gloom with Daniel anyway. She hands him the file with the customer's name and asks if he can find something on him. Rafe will look into it. He simply has to believe they will find Mel. Nicole gets choked up about bad things happening to people like her. He, however, is optimistic. He offers to have the faith for them both and embraces her. Dan opens the door and witnesses the embrace, though neither party sees him. Rafe's phone rings and so the hug ends. Duty calls. Exit Nicole. Caller Lucas gleefully tells Rafe that he has got something BIG to show him. They arrange to meet at the station in an hour. - Sami enters the pub and reminds Lucas they still have much to discuss. She realizes, however, that EJ is not his favorite subject. Lucas gloats he likes that subject since he now has proof he killed Stefano! Sami wants in. He refuses to share just yet, promises to call her soon, and takes off. Sami watches the new surveillance camera above the bar being adjusted and appears mesmerized. - Back at the elegant condo, John informs Marlena and Abe that much as the investor respected his determination, he was not able to support him at this particular time. No luck. Apparently EJ has been making them money, ethics be damned. Abe is sorry. Marlena insists there must be other options. John declares he will not give up. Abe drawls it is time for a change and he is just the man. Marlena readily agrees! They will need to plot their next move. John now gets an unexpected phone call. "What? Are you sure about this?!" Meanwhile, Abe wonders if Marlena minds John embracing his DiMera connection. She smiles she loves him, and would no matter what. He always does what is best for the greater good. Abe notes Lexie succeeded in making both worlds work. Marlena thanks him for the encouragement. John gets off the phone and sighs Brady has checked himself into rehab. And according to Madison and Brady, Ian has been slipping him drugs! Marlena recounts how phony Ian has been in that case, claiming to be happy for Mad and Brady. Abe concludes he is not over his ex-wife after all. John growls if Brady's suspicions are accurate, then he will make that son of a bitch pay! - At DiMera mansion, Will demands to know why EJ has not kept him in the loop. EJ drawls he has been set up. Will wonders whether he is lying. EJ insists again that he did not kill Stefano. Will reminds him he himself said innocent people can end up in jail. If he is not careful, he could be among them! EJ reasons he has a lawyer, while the floundering Salem police have circumstantial evidence. Even a jury would have to find reasonable doubt within their flimsy case. Will decides to open his bag and suddenly realizes, to his horror of horrors, that the letter is gone! - Maggie is about to leave. Dan promises her they will find their Mel. Nicole arrives with coffee for all but the redhead must go to the spa. She asks her to take good care of him and exits. Dan asks what Rafe had to say. He will look into the spa customer. Dan excuses himself and she wants to come with him. "Not today," says he. She probes whether he just wants to steer clear of her. Dan pauses at the door. He should have paid more attention to his daughter and less to himself. He does not need any drama in his life. Nicole deduces this is about Rafe. Dan drawls this is not the time for them. He must focus entirely on finding his daughter. He walks out and Nicole breaks down in tears. - The technician installing the security system upgrade notices Sami noticing the camera. She appears to have an epiphany and races off. - Spencer enters Rafe's office and tosses the test results on his desk. Rafe eagerly takes a look at the lab report and grins. Spencer takes a peek as well. "I'll be damned!" T'would seem the evidence is adding up. Rafe is pumped and ready to make an arrest ... - EJ wonders what nervous Will is doing, rummaging through his bag. Meanwhile, Lucas slowly approaches the condo and knocks on the door. Marlena opens the door with a smile. John and Abe are equally glad to see him. Abe was on his way out and departs. Lucas now dramatically announces he has hit pay dirt. "The key to the entire DiMera empire!" He hands John the letter. Hawkish John raises an eyebrow ... END |
