Daniel had told her about something that upset him a great deal. Melanie is marrying Chad. Jen is stunned to hear it. Nicole quips it is all because of that wacky Nick. Jen flinches. Nicole declares she is protective toward Dan, given how close they are. She compares it to how Jen must have felt about Jack. Jen reminds her that she covered for Chloe for months about having another man’s baby and seriously doubts Dan trusts her, much less confides in her. Nicole smugly smiles that things change. Jen grumbles not her! - Roman now shares the bad news about the pay cuts with Hope. She understands the realities of the dire situation. However, she loves her job. Just like Bo, says Roman, Hope realizes he already knows and appears concerned. Meanwhile, Bo sits on the town square white sofa and scoffs after reading the letter. - Rafe teases Sami that she really wants to know if they were fighting about her. He claims they were not. He and EJ cannot stand each other, that was the reason for the rumble. EJ attacked first. Sami wonders why EJ hit him. Rafe explains that is what he does when he does not get what he wants. Besides, what does it matter to her? She will not back down and insists it matters to her a great deal. - At the nurse’s station, Jen eventually catches up with Dan, who was with an elderly patient. She would like a moment of his time. They walk and talk. She is sorry for snapping at him. He was just being her friend. She stammers she did not mean to overreact. Dan is sympathetic. He understands what the widow is going through. She appreciates it and thanks him. Their eyes lock. She smiles she is going back to her office to get caught up. He calls after her not to work too hard his eyes filled with hope. - Bo and Hope sit at the town square and she makes light of the fact that they are taking a pay cut. She jokes she could sell jewelry. They can role with the punches. Bo sighs it stirs things up. Hope picks up the sailing magazine he just bought and notes something is on his mid. Bo explains policing is not about the money. She feels the same way but still loves her job. She realizes he does not feel the same way. Bo explains he does love his job, a tear in his eye. He recalls how they once sailed the world. Hope teases she knows he was never 9 to 5 and she accepts that. They hold each other in a mutual silence the way supercouples do. - At the coffee house, Lucas tells Kate all about the Rafe and EJ fight. He had hoped to convince Rafe to press charges but had no luck. Kate is relieved he was not involved. Lucas assures her he and Sami are done anyway. Kate is up in arms. She cannot believe it was about Sami! - Sami thinks EJ must have been provoked. Rafe denies he provoked him. Sami suggests perhaps he did so unintentionally. Perhaps EJ senses things have changed since … Rafe gives her a look. “Since what?” Sami is blunt. ”Since you kissed me!” - EJ enters the deserted office with suited Justin as elegantly as a man with a bloodied face can do. Justin hopes the urgency and secrecy of this meeting is not about anything illegal. EJ solemnly states this is about justice being served! - Bo has a beer and a talk with Hope at the town square café. He shares his frustration over the obstacles in dealing with the DiMera crime family. He no longer feels passionate about the job, though he understands she does. Hope reasons she wants him to do what he wants. Bo praises her for being a great wife. He thanks her and they kiss. She just wants him to be happy. He will figure it out. He corrects her. THEY will figure it out. They kiss again. The big guy has tears in his noble eyes. - Lucas has something more to stay about Sami but Kate stops him. She suspects he is like the other idiots who keep defending her. Lucas elaborates. He does not gives a flying EUPHAMISM what she does to her but she must leave his kids out of it. He warns Kate she will lose them all if his kids get hurt. Kate insists she only wants Sami to pay ... - Rafe admits to Sami their kiss happened but they were stupid. Sami points out feelings are not stupid, they just happen, but he disagrees. He now claims the kiss meant nothing and walks away. - Nicole opens the Horton front door to Daniel, and she is surprised to see him. He just wanted to say he still considers her a great friend and will keep doing whatever he must to prevent EJ from discovering the truth. She warns it could get complicated with Mel marrying Chad. He will be fine with that. She need only worry about herself and the little dude. He now walks off into the night. Nicole convinces herself that he wanted to see her. They could all be together, even if it means she has to run over Snow White with her car! - In the office, EJ promises Justin that this matter is completely legal and above board. He hands him cash to ensure what they discuss remains confidential, as per the lawyer-client regulations. Justin wonders why he wants to hire him. He trusts him and people will take this case seriously. Justin would like him to elaborate. EJ announces he wants to insist on a paternity test the moment Nicole’s baby is born. He requires proof that Rafael Hernandez is not the father. I am. I want proof of that and I want proof of conspiracy.” Justin is especially curious about the conspiracy part. Meanwhile, Jennifer has just opened the door and silently listens, unseen. EJ rages that Nicole and Rafe fabricated a paternity test, which was switched by Dr. Jonas. Therefore, he will make sure that Nicole is left with nothing. Rafe is thrown out of the police department, and the entire medical career of Dr. Jonas is destroyed! Jen stares. END |
